I am a low income senior. This dental practice blew through the total 5 year budget of $5000 in less than a year without informing me of the costs of what they were doing. The previous 5 years budget was enough to cover for all procedures needed. They had done some work on a tooth and right beside a tooth that there was obvious decay showing on new ex ray. It was so visual that When I looked at the ex ray I could plainly see it. They completely missed it. As a result 6 months later the tooth had to be removed and supposedly could not be saved. Recently A filling popped out. They glued the old filling back in and within 2 weeks It had come out again. They explained that they did that in the best interests of the patient instead of putting a new filling in. This procedure was not covered by insurance but a new filling would have been. How is this in the best interest of the client? The last cleaning a couple of weeks ago was so painful because the hygienist was in such a hurry that she hit my gums with the tool regularly. It was the most painful cleaning that I have ever experienced. For this service I was asked for over $370 even though previous cleanings never came above $260. Thats more than a 40% increase in labour cost. Is that inflation or just greed. I was told that the fee schedule had gone up. You understand that that is not a government schedule but dentist associations giving dentists a raise. The office manager that came in to talk to me was so aggressive in defending themselves and justifying their actions that I left the office without receiving treatment for my missing filling. My husband and I have been going to the dentist for many years. We call it the chop shop. Every time you go it is a different hygenist and dentist. They are consistently referring us for expensive procedures or appliances. On November 13, 2018 I had two "tiny" fillings done on the farthest back tooth on the upper right hand side. I was told they were so tiny I probably wouldn't even need to be frozen. Thank God they did. They had to wrestle with my mouth and jaw to even get the dam in and have me move my jaw from side to side to do the filling. They also suggested I get a mouth guard for sleep...... I have no idea why... Two days later I was off to Phoenix for a vacation. The entire vacation I was in pain. I came back to Calgary and just before Christmas, returned to the dentist, who was another new one, and they refiled the filling saying that the "bite was off". They told me to see how it was after two weeks, after again suggesting a purchase a sleep night guard. My Christmas was ruined because my sore jaw. I got in to see them again on December 27, which was the first day they had opened, again seeing a different dentist who informed me that I had TMJ and referred me to a specialist but suggested that I come in the following week to see the dentist who had completed the original filling. This dentist at least told me the TMJ specialist will probably make me a night guard for sleep. On January 2, 2019, I saw the original dentist, who admitted that my muscles may have been pulled during the procedure, patted my shoulder and suggested a get a jaw massage. No TMJ... no night guard needed.... missed work due to pain... lousy vacation and Christmas.... Massage Therapist at Massage on 194th was absolutely blown away at how damaged my muscles in my jaw are... and my husband and I will never go to that dentist office ever again... read more

Absolutely awesome! This was the second dental office that I went to since needing fillings so I don't have too much experience with dental work but compared to the first clinic I went to, Chaparral Dental Wellness as 100 times better. Great staff, courteous doctors, short waiting times. I needed 7 fillings so the ladies split my appointment into 3 trips to avoid fatigue and discomfort. Not once did I have any pain after the work was completed....unlike the other/first clinic I went to. read more
