As…read moresome may know planning a funeral for anyone is as hard as things can get in life so I was especially grateful to be somewhere where our grief was not being taken advantage of like so many funeral homes are known to do. Brendon did an outstanding job preparing my father for viewing. He looked so handsome and looked as if he was in a truly peaceful sleep. Words could never properly convey how much that meant to us, it made things easier for my Mother to see him look so peaceful. I won't ever forget asking Brendon about the preparing of the body...yes I asked. He is my father and I wanted to make sure that every step of his death was met with as much dignity ,love and care as possible. I asked him will you take care of him in a caring manner or are you detached when doing this particular job? He said he couldn't do this job if he didn't care about the people that came across to him. In addition the owner of the funeral home (he didn't see that I saw this) came to pick up my father at hospice stopped for a moment before wheeling him off to the funeral home and crossed himself and said a short prayer. I cant tell you how much that meant to me. It showed me that death wasn't just business for them. Mark made me wait almost a year to the month for an invoice and held me up on the banks and all others needs of an invoice. Called every week contacted the state business department and nothing. I left all the information asked by the answering service: my name and phone number and home address and relationship to the deceased and the purpose of the call, etc, with the request for a call back. I even made a 400 mile trip there to try to get to see the owners of the funeral home, but there was nobody there at the time. I have yet to receive a call back from Kopicki's. I consider this service poor at best and totally inappropriate, and if their usual response is anything like what i have received, then I would not consider them for anything related to their services. I would rate their service to me as being extremely poor, and would suggest others to go elsewhere for their needed services. PS: I would not even give them a single star rating, as their service is that bad, but its the lowest I could give them.

Ownership has changed and it is now run by the owner of the Bunnell Funeral Home's in Bloomsburg and Millville. The funeral home sits alongside a rural road in the country outside of Catawissa. Entrance to the building now varies with the size of the funeral, it can either be in the original back entrance or the new handicap accessible entrance that has been built in front of the building. The parking lot can become quite crowded if it's a larger funeral. Due to some rearrangement and changes in placements, seating has been increased for the family with the addition of a few dozen seats. Interior still holds about fifty seats for mourners, with room for twenty additional people standing. The interior is simple and dim. I would describe it as if you were going to your grandparent's house in many ways; older style furniture sits against the back and sides for people who can't sit comfortably in the wood folding chairs. It can get a bit warm inside if there's a larger funeral. The carpeting has been completely replaced as part of the recent changes. The people here really do a good job in your time of mourning. Everything was beautifully prepared for the funeral; they take the time to make sure they know about the person's life. Funeral was nothing but smooth making it an easier time for everyone involved. They do a great job at making the situation about as well as it can be.
