The inner back room is the prayers room with Virgin Mary and baby Jesus. The high roof structure is seen in this church. The reason I said it need repair because many of the windows are board up. Ahh Paris... L'amour est comme le vent, nous ne savons pas d'où il vient... Love is like the wind... On my way to Musée Rodin serendipity brought me to Sainte-Clotilde de Paris. A Basilica in the French Gothic Revival style. Simply breathtaking. Located at Square Samuel Rousseau in the 7th arrondissement... the Catholic Basilica overwhelms the small park opened to the public in 1857. The wonderful statue, L'Education maternelle, dedicated in 1875, faces the Basilica. The 226-feet twin spires can be seen from a mile away. And the story of Abbé Bernard Bouveresse, a leader in the French Resistance resonates here. Between the two Gothic towers, a statue of St. Clotilde watches over Paris like a latter day St. Geneviève. In the end, Sainte-Clotilde de Paris is a memorable stop on the way to the more famous landmarks. Not as legendary as Notre-Dame de Paris or as historic as L'église de la Madeleine just across the Seine, but nonetheless a masterpiece of French Gothic Revival... Love is like the wind... Je t'aime!

Sacre Couer on the hill of Monmartre provides the best 360 degree views of the city of Paris,…read moreparticularly if you venture to climb the 300 steps to the top dome (for 7 euros). Entrance to the basilica is free, and it's opened from 6am until 10:30pm. It was built with the "self cleaning" Chateau-Lando stone from France, and the rain and weathering keeps it white. Crowds linger on the steps and around the overlook areas. Vendors try to sell you cheap locks to put on the surrounding fencing (the locks covering the fences-even with signs saying "no locks permitted" are an eyesore and should be removed). Security line checks are long and in February 2026 we waited about 30 or 40 mins to enter. I can only imagine what chaos it is in the high season. The basicalla is beautful inside and well worth checking out, although quiet and repect are required as there are masses going on. For this visit the crypt was not available to enter, which was highly disappointing There is also a small train trolly like vehicle right outside that will take you on a 30 minute ride around Monmartre for 12 euros. We thought it was a bit cheesey and touristy at first, but it really was worth it! Sacre couer is majestically beautiful!

We took the RER E to Magenta and walked to the Gare du Nord to get on the M4 and exited at Chateau Rouge to get to the Montematre This was a fun inclination to the top of the mountain because there were many shops and vendors to explore. Once you get to the foot of the hill, there is 300 steps of stairs you can take for a scenic route like my boyfriend or you can take it easy like me and take the tram up to the top of the hill. This landmark gives you an incredible panoramic view of the city. The building itself has Roman-Byzantine architecture and it is absolutely stunning. I know I keep saying this in my Paris reviews but the photos do not do these views justice. There are sketchy street vendors that we saw wrap up their merch and run as the law enforcement arrive. There was the usual Paris trinkets but one vendor even had a bunch of labubus for sale. They're hustling. A must see if you are visiting Paris!

So, let's just be respectful when entering a place where people go and worship. Overall this place looks stunning and the stained glass windows look so pretty. However, once you enter, you are transported into a beautiful church. Luckily for us, there was an evening mass when we went and so we decided to stay. It's absolutely beautiful inside.
