Chappell Hill Bank Terri Blockuhvich, assistant bank manager of loans, doesn't honor their word or the promises with loans. Ms. Blockuhvich knew that my accounts were in good standing with good credit, so naturally, I asked for a lower rate from 7 1/2 to 4 percent; she agreed after speaking to her 'board'! After eleven months of saying yes, but I have been so busy, or out of town, etc., the closing date for the new lower rate never happened. So I paid off my loan and gave her the option to reimburse me the eleven months that she promised at the lower rate of 3 1/2 percent or risk me moving all of my money and accounts out of Chappell Hill Bank. She excused herself to go and talk to her 'BOARD' and came back and said, we won't honor our word and will not pay you the 11,000 dollars. I told her my business was over here, and within two business, days I moved the bulk of my funds out. If you can't trust your banker at their word, then you can trust them at all--end of the story. I just opened a savings account there. They even gave me a passbook... I hadn't seen one in 40 years! I also have full electronic access, an online account, ACH in/out, and alerts. Their lobby and building are extremely historic. I am also using their safe deposit services, they have a few small boxes left in case you're interested. We have been doing business here for over 7 years since we moved to the area. The bank offers what is not usual in these days of fast moving everything. Banking at Chappell Hill is personal and everyone is met with respect and importance. Accounts are handled by a professional staff that is personable and accommodating.
