I recommend Dr Marks to everyone I know. The staff is friendly and really seem to enjoy working for him. I saw Dr Marks after years of not going to the dentist, then putting it off, then putting it off. I finally worked up the courage to go in and I am so glad I did! I told him how nervous I was and he was so kind and patient, explaining everything until he was sure I understood it. Whenever he recommends something beyond a 6month visit, he explains why he feels it's necessary and gives me some options to work with. After years of seeing him I finally have to have a cavity filled, which he offered to do same day. Very convenient--but when he saw the panic in my eyes, he offered to schedule it for a day when I had time to prepare for it, and didn't pressure me either way. I decided to just do it, and asked if I could put my headphones on when they were ready to go so I didn't hear the tools, to which he said of course. However, the conversation we were having as they set up (mostly about how much he loves his job, actually) was so funny and pleasant that I didn't realize I hadn't put my headphones on until he mentioned it when we were literally half way through, in case I still wanted to put them on. He also goes above and beyond for his patients. He checked my insurance himself before we filled the cavity and made sure I was fine with the cost. He patiently showed me an x-ray for like five minutes until I finally saw where and what he was talking about and understood what he meant. He's jumped in and checked people in himself at the desk. Bottom line, Dr Marks is a wonderful dentist. He knows his stuff, he is gentle when he examines you, he makes his patients comfortable both physically and mentally at what could be a pretty scary experience, and he's efficient. So this is my honest review after going to the dentist for over a year, I got a lot of work done including my Invisalign. Good: 1. Charles Mark is really knowledgeable and smart, knows the in and out and overall gets the job done pretty well 2. The office location and hours are convenient 3. Staff is nothing but friendly Bad: 1. The wait time could be crazy, you have a 5 PM appointment and may have to wait till 6 PM to be seen Ugly: 1. Here is where I decided to move on, so during my Invisalign treatment I was quoted 5k of which 2k was covered by my insurance. Few months into the treatment I checked my insurance claim and my out of pocket was only 2k instead of 3k. I called my insurance and they informed the Dentist office is covered under PPO and they legally cannot charge me over a certain amount. I called the dentist office, and during the call Charles Mark was getting annoyed over these simple questions and instead of clearing the misunderstanding he said something like "why did you call insurance like three times, threating me if he resubmit the insurance and put 8k as cost and my out of pocket will be 6k". To which I responded, "what was the problem with me calling my own insurance? And asked him to please go ahead and recharge the fee, I will pay what my insurance claims as out of pocket". I honestly wanted to get a new dentist but I was already few months into my Invisalign so later on my appointment day he admitted his mistake saying he had no idea etc. and he will refund me the access payment. I honestly don't believe him. I feel he knew the entire time he was under contract and can't overcharge but still did. Anyway, it took him 6 months to refund the excess payment (I had already paid $2250. That was it, got my Invisalign treatment completed, I am honestly very satisfied with everything I did in terms of work. Shame the ethics aren't as the same level as the skill. read more

Dr Marks is a terrific dentist. But I feel I need to share my experience on getting a root canal here. Dr. Marks did not do the procedure, he had a woman, perhaps the endodontist come in and do the procedure for me. I truly believe the woman who did this procedure is a complete and utter masochistic human being. It has been almost 2 years since my procedure and it still haunts me. 20 minutes before she was finished all the numbing had gone away and i felt EVERYTHING. I FELT EVERY SINGLE THING. I sat in the chair screaming and screaming while she refused to re-numb me saying "its almost over, I'm not going to numb you again" You know, when you are in that chair, it is a very vulnerable position, so while I sat there taking the pain and screaming and writhing in agony--I thought it was normal. I was in a very vulnerable position and she should have stopped. She should have stopped when I was screaming and telling her to stop and that I could feel everything. I'm currently at another center getting a root canal. Guess what, first part done and it was painless. I never said anything because I didn't want to seem troublesome or crazy. Instead I was a "good cooperative patient" that paid my bill and left. 5 stars for dr marks but zero for this horrific horrific woman. Masochistic woman that took advantage of me. read more

I strongly do NOT recommend Dr. Charles Marks. I read mixed reviews including some weird ones as well, but I decided to visit the dentist due to the convenience of making an appointment. What a HUGE mistake it was. There was extremely long wait, and there was also a miscommunication between the dentists (Dr. Marks and Dr. Olga who is an associate). While I was there only for the preventative routine, Dr. Marks came in and out of the office while cleaning my teeth. The cleaning itself was VERY ROUGH and aggressive without any care. The whole procedure took less than 3 minutes. I've visited many dentist offices, but never have I ever had this type of a unfair treatment. I originally came here to get a crown which was fixed ASAP, (Great Work) Then my next appointment was to get a clean. (Also Great Job) I had heard many people mention invisalign so on my next visit I mentioned whether or not Invisalign is something that this dental practice participates in. Dr. Marks is AWESOME! I saw him in 2003 for 6 veneers and laser whitening, and it changed my life! He has a phenomenal artistic talent, and the veneers are still going strong, even after all these years! In 2008 I saw him for a root canal and cavities. Shortly after, I got insurance, so I started seeing someone else since he was not covered under my plan. BIG MISTAKE! I returned to see him today and he was able to fix what the other dentist messed up. Not only that, he's warm, kind, funny, and plays amazing music in the office (he's a musician himself). It took me a couple visits to figure it out but THIS DENTIST IS A SCAMMER. My first visit to Dr. Marks office started normal, I came in because of an old crown that broke and also needed a crown for a new root canal I had. They gave me full mouth x-rays and told me to wait for Marks to come in with his evaluation. Dr. Marks greets me and very bluntly tells me I have an infection in my gum under the old root canal and he doesn't recommend to put a crown on it, ALSO the tooth should just be pulled. Hearing this news, I started tearing up as it is a lot to take in. Marks calms me down and basically says its no big deal and that I could get a crown for the new root canal I recently had. So I set up a second appointment to get the crown. My second visit, I get the crown installed. But Marks says he noticed it looks like a filling has come out from my top second molar (all the way in the back). I reluctantly set up an appointment to have it fixed. My third visit, I get the "missing" filling "replaced". BUT Marks now recommends I get my three older silver fillings replaced as he thinks they are "deteriorating". He asks when I want to come in to fix it and I tell him I will call the office later to schedule. ( I didn't because something seemed way off about his judgement at this point). I did however schedule my next cleaning appointment. My fourth & FINAL VISIT, I came in for my cleaning a couple months later. A different dentist does the cleaning (forgot the name), they do a good job with minimal discomfort. They take a last survey of my teeth and say everything looks great. I ask them does that mean my teeth are healthy/in good condition and they say YES but to wait for Dr. Marks evaluation. They leave and Marks comes in. The man BARELY opens my mouth to look around and then tells me I have a cavity. On top of that he says he sees I don't have a crown on THE OLD ROOT CANAL that I originally came in to get fixed and asked if I wanted one. I asked him what happened to the gum infection you said I have?! He stares at my x-rays for a while then says "Oh right, nevermind". That was it for me, I've had enough of the sketchiness and the scamming...never went back. Their office number is blocked in my phone because a couple months later the receptionist called and left a voicemail saying "Make your next appointment with us, you have insurance might as well use it".... seriously? I was just there today for a cleaning and it was great! Dr Marks always does the best for his patients. He is easy and excellent at what he does! Dr Patel cleaned my teeth today and she was superb. I have gone to Dr Marks for nearly a decade. He consistently does outstanding work with extremely fair pricing. He keeps my smile looking great, fixes my problems and never runs up the tab "finding" problems that other dentists use to pad fees. Dr. Marks even cured my snoring problem with an innovative mouth guard that all the sleeping experts refuse to talk about because it is 10xs less expensive than cpap machines or surgery. Added bonus: this does office is well-managed. A 2:00 appointment means I get seen at 2:00. There is none of the usual bs of sitting around and wasting time in a dentist's office. This is an update to my review. Even with the coronavirus, I have found it worth my time and efforts to make a special trip to see Dr. Marks and his staff. Horrible!!! I have so many complaints! Long wait/ he would do my filling then go to another patient and work on them to come back to me and work on mine again! Disgusting!!!!! I was always there from 5:30 to 7:00p.m. Due to him doing to much! Like that's disgusting and horrible service. He was to touchy and flirty at 1st and I shut that shit down as soon and I said I am married! Started going to him 1/2018 and I'm in year 2020 and he never did another X-Ray! He kept using my 2018 X-ray like wtf! Shit get worse!!! On top of that, I was pregnant and my doctor approved and said I can take X-ray to make sure I don't have any cavities, I was having pain, like cavity pain and instead of doing a X-ray he checked with his fingers and metal stick to see where to locate the cavity smh! He also almost had the other dentist that was helping me reopen a filling that he already fixed... I said no and made him do an X-ray to show him that it was already done. Like what the heck!!!! Then I had two fillings done on my birthday and I had to go back due to them not shaping one of them correctly, then I had to go back again because the 2nd filling they did on my birthday was still hurting, with out doing an X-ray they open the filling up and redid it. But it still hurts, They made two mistake on both teeth and try to charge my insurance and I had to file a claim and a complaint and report him. Plus I had to repay my copay! For the second filling they had to fix, Then he had the nerve to tell me you only have $22 left from you're deductible I'm like how do you know this oh I check and made sure we were getting paid for our service like WHAT!!! I been going there for almost two years and all he has done is nothing !!!! My insurance Denied their claim and I got my copay $22 back! It seems like he was doing incomplete work so I can keep coming back and keep changing my insurance and that's fucked up because I don't make money like that! Plus the 3 times I went in August 2020 he kept asking me if he gave me my retainers and he did on my birthday then he asked me again and again! Both other appointments. Like was he even taking notes on the procedures he was doing to me ? ! 3 weeks later, I have a new dentist and she said I have 5 cavities and a root canal to get done like that's crazy cuz he said I was fine and everything was okay but I still had pain! Remember he was using X-ray from 1/2018...I even asked him to do X-ray but they seem so busy and never did only on the side I insisted on! This place is horrible!!! He doesn't care about his patience he does the minimum just for you to keep coming back!!! And his team seems like they hate their jobs and are rude on the phone. Anyways never again. 34th and 5th seems like an area where the service you will think will be amazing and it's worse!!! How's your burger? GREAT, until my crown came off, mid-chew. On a front tooth, no less. During a business meeting, no less. At 8:30PM on a Friday, no less(!) "Excuse me, I have to make a call." A search for "local emergency dental care" showed Dr. Marks at top of the list. I was in his office within 15 minutes. Seems the post part of my tooth had cracked. No one's fault. Dr. Marks took an x-ray, some photos, discussed options with me, glued the crown back on, and pushed me to get an appt ASAP with my original dentist. He was thorough and professional. At 9PM on a Friday night. Did I mention he gave me a break at the cash register, out of sympathy for the hassle of my situation? I have been to the periodontist and the endodontist on the same premises as Dr Marks and all of the issues I had are all being worked on. Dr. Marks and his staff were awesome and very accommodating to me on the first time I saw them. I'm weird with dentists and my last dentist was a jerk to me. Dr. Marks was communicative, confident and attentive. He even fixed an issue that had made me unable to chew on my left side for the last four years. Dr. Marks is a great dentist, he fixed two cavities that I was told by a prior dentist would need root canals. It's been a year since he fixed them and I've had zero pain. He comes off a bit strange but to save me close to $800 bucks on a root canal, I'll take the strangeness. Most recently, I broke a tooth while chewing ice, and the necessary dental work included a root canal, a crown and gum surgery (surgery performed in Dr. Marks's office by Dr. Leder). (I mean, I am honestly terrified of going to the dentist.) He and Alex were both so nice, patient and calming that it made the surgery a much better experience than I expected. My first appointment with Dr. Marks was after I chipped my front tooth on a holiday weekend. I left a message with his answering service and he called me back personally within 15 minutes and booked me an appointment for first thing the following day. While discussing how to repair my chipped tooth, I expressed that I was unhappy with other aspects of my smile and Dr. Marks outlined various options for me. I chose to cap both of my front teeth and bond two others. He was very thorough, clearly took pride in his work, and was intent on making sure that I was satisfied and happy with the results. And when all was said and done, my smile is now straighter and better looking than ever before! I'm extremely happy that my friend recommended Dr. Marks. His staff is friendly and professional and I enjoyed my visits to his office so much that I will miss spending time there now that I only need to go in for the occasional cleaning. I found Dr Marks on the recommendation from a friend about 7 or 8 years ago. Hate to say it, but my mouth was in really bad shape due to years of avoiding the dentist and letting things just get worse instead of taking matters in hand. With an up to date set of xrays and a recovery plan, Dr Marks set about getting my teeth back to a healthy condition with only one tooth loss. I had extensive periodontal work in his office and now return 3 times a year to make sure nothing ever gets out of hand again. Recently Dr Marks did a small not expensive cosmetic procedure using bonding to make my teeth look better than they ever have. I'm extremely pleased. I have a small self pay dental insurance plan which is severely limited with a yearly cap and Dr. Marx has been great about working around that cap, but still slowly and efficiently getting the job done. The dental assistants, other dentists in the office and the office staff couldn't be nicer. I would recommend this dental office to anyone looking for quality dental work. read more
