Charleston Brace Company in my opinion based on my first and last visit with this place is by far the worst , I cannot and will not recommend stay far away , Go to Floyd Brace Co . My son and I are on Medicaid and I was told over the phone that they do accept my insurance and they are listed as in network, We made an appointment and during this appointment we were told they would not put a claim in for my insurance because it cost more to make the product than what the insurance pays . The owner and staff refused and asked us to leave . I have filed a complaint with Medicaid , The owner and staff at the very least are Discriminating and are in violation of the contract with medicaid and are very Unethical and unprofessional . Turns out could have gotten same item HALF price online waited over half hour in small room each time nice people poorly run and overpriced for sure. now I have size will be ordering online again at half price 120 online 222 at Chas. Nathaniel made me wait 3 hours my first appointment, and didn't even show up for my last 2 appointments. The most recent one they called and confirmed the appointment the night before. The day of the appointment, after making me wait an hour, they informed me their system had accidentally canceled my appointment and they didn't have my orthotics for the scheduled fitting and Nathaniel wasn't there. I asked the Nathaniel, the owner, to call me a half dozen times and finally got him on the phone today. I asked if his staff had told him I had been requesting a call for months, he said yes. When I asked why he didn't call me after all the mistakes him and his office had made to try to fix it, he said "I don't have to explain why I do or don't return calls to you." Never even apologized for all the mistakes him and his staff made that wasted so much of my time and caused a lot of unnecessary stress. read more

I really gave this place a few chances. In my case they have been unhelpful at best with a dash of condescension & a lot of claiming they want to help but not actually delivering. Do yourself a favor & find real professionals who know their job well & aren't threatened by suggestions to think out of the box. read more
