Surprisingly he obliged with minimal grumbling (even for not being into shows, missing the Steeler game, AND it being a work night...double whoa)! The theatre is smaller than the ones I'm used to back home, but it made the experience seem that much more personal. There's a beautiful outside area that's open to the public, making it a perfect venue for the warmer winter nights! The only reason I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 is because the seats are a little tough to withstand for 2+ hours (however, typical of most classical art venues I've been to). Overall we had a great experience and I would highly recommend attending a show here!

Queen Street Playhouse's unique architecture and building transformation is straight out of the history books. The building was originally constructed in the 1840s as a cotton warehouse. A notable example of vernacular warehouse architecture in Charleston, its style was influenced by Roman Revival and West Indian architecture. Abandoned around the turn of the century, the space was purchased and renovated in the late-1930s by its current theater company, the Footlight Players. The picturesque Philadelphia Alley in historic Charleston, SC abuts Queen Street Playhouse, the newest venue for Spoleto Festival USA. Spoleto is worth a visit. Listen closely and hear the sounds of two dueling spirits. Running alongside the Playhouse is one of Charleston's most iconic and photographed downtown scenes: Philadelphia Alley. They were to play during guest seating and the ceremony. Due to the rain that started at 5:30, they wouldn't play. Although, they were completely covered (which was stated as a need during rain). The wedding planner asked them to play although the guests weren't being seated (standing around due to delaying the ceremony). Once they agreed to play, it took another 15 minutes. We were also told it would be an additional $50 for every 15 extra minutes they were needed (I did know this was in the contract but it says nothing about inclement weather). In order to give my daughter what she dreamed I agreed to do that if needed. The musicians never said they were sorry for the problems. Also, we haven't been offered a refund for the time they did not play. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Using Charming Events of Charleston was by far the worst decision I made during my wedding…read moreplanning. I should have known early on in planning when it would take Justin multiple phone calls and days to get back to me that I was in for a rude awakening. My wedding was on June 11, 2016 and starting on May 19th, I could not get in touch with him AT ALL. When I called his phone it seemed to be disconnected and he did not respond to any emails. The Monday before my wedding I decided to check in with my vendors since Justin was so unreliable. When I called my rental company they told me not to panic but there was not an order placed under my name or Justin's for my wedding date. Let that sink in.... I had NO RENTALS (chairs, tables, napkins, etc) 5 days before my wedding was supposed to take place. After placing the order on my own, I called the linen rental company and they said they were about to cancel my order. They had been sending Justin invoices for two weeks with no response and thought we no longer needed all my tablecloths. The Monday before my wedding was the most stressful day of my life, spent replanning everything and double checking work that should have been done months in advance. He finally called me the next day but after much consideration, my family and I decided it would be best if Justin was not a part of my wedding day due to his failure to follow through with his contract. He agreed and told us he would offer a refund and meet with my parents before they left Charleston after the wedding. Well, it is nearly two weeks since my wedding and despite multiple calls, texts, and emails, no one in my family has heard back from Justin. DO NOT HIRE CHARMING EVENTS!
