First of all, the surcharges are kind of ridiculous. A delivery fee AND a 5% processing fee, plus an extra $1 if you're in a hotel because the driver has to walk an extra few feet. Shit, I'll meet you in the lobby if it's that big of an issue. According to their FAQ, the food itself is priced 10% higher if you want to give your order over the phone to their "telephone concierge." By the way, the estimate that the website gives you when you order doesn't include all of the surcharges. When my food came, it was missing half of my order - I only ordered 2 entrees. I called to tell them this, and they sent another driver out to get the rest of my order and that took another hour. (so that's two hours after I placed my order) I don't know if it was the restaurant's fault for messing it up or their fault for not double-checking or leaving it in the car. But did they offer me any discount or take it off my bill? No. Your receipt doesn't even come automatically. Hello? I think it's common knowledge with any service that receipts are not optional. If you want a receipt, you have to call them and ask for it to be emailed to you. And of course, I asked for a receipt and never got one. And if you're paying by credit, you enter the tip amount at the time you order. Good luck predicting that prompt service! I think that not providing a receipt is shady especially given that you're not entirely sure what surcharges you're getting. Overall, the SERVICE part of this "delivery service" is lacking. read more
