Better known on the island (and on google maps) as Charlie Farley's - I highly recommend this spot! The location and beachy, casual friendly vibes is really what makes this place great. Spend the day on beautiful Onetangi beach and then just walk two minutes up the road to Charlie Farley's to enjoy a drink and some food with a beautiful view of the beach. This spot is very casual which is a nice change of pace from some of the wineries and you can easily rock up here in a tshirt and sandy feet. Although some of the food is a bit pricier, it is delish and totally worth it. My favorite is the chicken burger but there is a nice variety for someone to find everything they like. Extremely attentive and friendly staff as well! Love this spot :)

Beachside location, outdoor seating available. Full bar, great food. There's something for everyone. Calamari was great. Chicken wings were very filling. My kid had a chicken sandwich and I had a bite of it. It was excellent. Staff amazing.

So yes a great view of the Harbor in Auckland I had 2 poached eggs and toast the typical breakfast menu nothing over the top but what makes this place great is being able to eat outside top floor looking over water ... yeah potential to come back. Pricing fair service good

No question....this place has made an indelible place in our lives. Being from the SF Bay Area in particular. After a full day of touring vineyards on Waiheke, my flight attendant wife (who's worked Auckland several times) tells me we're going to this fantastic beach and then have dinner at this perfect little spot there. Of course, Charlie Farleys. It's very much a local hangout with burgers and fish and chips. All done wonderfully by the way. Like most folks I guess, we ate outside on the deck and enjoyed the beach scene and the occasional visit from local bird life. The food and service were impeccable by the way. This restaurant is actually fairly remote for tourists, it's not on the main wine route, so it was a pleasure to be away from that scene for awhile. After dinner I got up to go to the bathroom and what do I discover? Why it's the Golden State Warriors playing the Lakers on their inside TV! Made me want to plan retirement in New Zealand! How can life get any better than this? AND...we get to come back to Charlie Farley's!

Saw this little fellow this morning on Onetangi Beach in front of Charlie Farley's. So cool.

French toast with banana and bacon. Eggs Benedict with salmon. Thoroughly enjoyable. What made the visit even more special was the little penguin chick on the beach. He was napping and then toddled back into the water and swam off. So cool. This was my second visit to Charlie's. I'd recommend it to anybody and would be happy to go back again.

After a stroll on the beach and being very hungry this place was a welcome site. The deck and patio is great to sit at and the place has a wide variety of food, drink, and desserts. The staff was friendly enough as the patrons were quick to strike up a conversation. Being from out of the country I can't really comment on the price, honestly everything in New Zealand seemed pricy but no different then visits Hawaii or any other beach locale. Take a drink to go and walk near the beautiful beach or just sit and relax a bit.

Both times I've been on Waiheke Island for a few days I've stayed near Onetangi Beach, so needless to say I've eaten here a bunch.

The drinks are cheap and quality, the decor is understated, and there's a 21 and over cap. Couldn't ask for more. Finding SF is only tricky if you're not paying attention, a single doorway on Wyndham that leads to an upstairs oasis. But once you arrive, you won't want to leave. I haven't been here on a Thursday or Sunday but apparently those are the nights to make and appearance (because the food is well cheap). Staff is also super nice. Spitting Feathers, you're a gem.

It's not what it was, so that's why I don't give the former business one star. Yelp needs to update this listing to show Permanently Closed. It's a sports bar, not a pub, so ... not a pub. They had Rugby League on, which is OK, but I watch Union. I ordered a Panhead Supercharger (American Pale Ale): it tasted of butterscotch (diacetyl) which should not, not, NOT be the case. I brought it up: "we just changed it". I gave a challenging look: the bartender tried it, said it was OK. Horseshit! I know my stuff and have had several of these while on vacation. It was not right. So poor quality of service. They have a large electronic gaming cave. Yuck. Not a pub. It's not Spitting Feathers anymore. Yelp needs to update the listing so that people know that the old venue is dead and gone.

In saying this, its hard to say what the Cock & Bull's target market is, but nevertheless, they seem to be accommodating for a wide age range- and thats a good thing. I've always enjoyed the service at Cock & Bull. Always welcoming, quick and cheerful, and you know your drink is in good hands. Their food is very well done- I tend to lean towards their salads, but they do great wedges, nachos and fries with aioli. Their aptly named Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa pizzas are well priced and taste even better! Cock & Bull is a long-standing establishment in Botany Downs and really fits the gastropub mould. If you're looking for somewhere that does its job right in the Botany area, go no further than the Cock & Bull.

Found a quiet corner to dine solo. I ordered the Lamb Rump with garlic butter, which came with Bacon and Peas, and a side of Smashed Truffle Potatoes. This was absolutely delicious! The Potatoes were satisfyingly crispy, mouthwateringly in a flavorful sauce and spices, featuring strong taste of true truffle. Garlicky peas with bacon was a wonderful combination. When I saw Sticky Date Pudding on the dessert menu, I just had to get it. This was served with butterscotch sauce, candied walnut, and ice cream. What an indulgent, sweet, mouthwatering masterpiece! The Sticky Date Pudding was chewy, moist, with notes of caramel and warm spices. Walnuts added a delightful nutty crunch. I poured the butterscotch sauce over both the Sticky Date Pudding and ice cream, which brought everything together beautifully. Service was good. Waitress was personable and everything came out in a timely manner. Such a wonderful meal here!

I typically shy away from restaurants that are in the hotel because they tend to be pricey. I wouldn't order the dumplings again, but I always forget that chicken dumplings just aren't the same as pork and/or shrimp. The Arancini was a bit disappointing in flavor, maybe just a touch more salt would have been helpful and same thing with the flavor of the Risotto. The seafood was cooked perfectly, but the sauce on it just wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked, for a risotto. Service was always great with the staff always helpful with recommendations. The decor is cute, almost like a pub in the plain simple seating and tables, but every picture on the wall tells a story and the license plates make it plain that the focus is not a New Zealand one, this is dedicated to the US TexMex flavouring and the surrounds show it. Service was fast and friendly, they were very concerned that we enjoyed the meal and were super quick with food.. now the food .. We started with simple fries and corn chips, the salsa was something that NZ haven't seen much of, it was smooth, no major chunks and chopped fine .. the corn chips were fresh from the fry machine and hot and delicious, crispy and dusted with a seasoning that made it taste even better. The mains were authentic TexMex fajita and "Mama's chicken" .. let's say if my Mama cooked that well I might not have left home at 13 .. (actually I was kicked out .. but that's a story for another review) So a 5 stars for La Cantina, if you like Authentic food .. come here, if you like mass produced soggy stuff, I have a KFC review that might interest you. Ps. Dr Pepper, Cream Sosa and Root beer ...
