Ideal place for an outdoor dinner in the warm spring/summer months. I had two of the starters - tartar and the fish. Both well prepared. Can highly recommend for al frisco dinning. read more

It's hard to beat a station that puts you between a forest and the ocean. Flanked by the Deer Park…read moreand Bellevue beach, it's crazy ideal for a setting. Now when I got there that was what I saw. At about 12.30am we were leaving Den Rode Cottage and waited for a good half an hour and was notified no train was coming. Now to be stuck in the wee hours in paradise with no way home is daunting. However DSB decided to purchase taxi fare for everyone to get home and in some cases that worked out better as we didnt have to stop anywhere.

This is a Museum you have to visit if you want to understand Danish history. All houses look cute…read moreand romantic, but in reality people had a really really hard life. Especially women- I think. This Frilandsmuseet is actually collection of houses from mostly the 19th century. They are very authentic and you can still feel and smell life at the time. I liked all the buildings, but most impressive was old wooden windmill, yellow spooky hospital and fishermens house. Everybody can find something they like. But most beneficial is to see how fortunate we are to be born in these days. I feel respect for old generations (not only Danish) and also more understand how important education and evolution in every direction connected to life. Even though I have 5 stars, I think there may be little bit more to add to this place. For example showing original old crafts (smith, fabrics making, cooking, shoe making, beer making, ....) so we could touch, smell and taste flavor as our ancestors. The ponies for kids and carriage for adults were nice, but more hands on activities would be great. I had a lot of fun with my family and hopefully we will be back sometime soon!
