This review is with respect to the waxing. A friend of mine told me about this place, said she had been and it was the bet wax she had ever had, so I went the following week. She was right, I still come here. What is different is the wax they use. It is not strip wax. The hot wax is applied to your skin, it cools and becomes like a thick film on your skin at which point the beauty therapist peels it off like a plaster, no pain. It is formulated to only take out the hair, it only adheres to the hair, not your skin. That is why you should go, painless waxing, it is possible. Great professional staff too, clean facilities and private rooms. I recommend it highly.

They appreciate not everyone loves really thin arched eyebrows, and happily shape them how you want them. Compared to other beauticians, Ellipse have always been very reasonably priced. While some places may charge $60 or more for a bikini wax, Ellipse are far more affordable and usually ask for around $25-$30. Having recently undergone a bit of a face lift, the Ellipse building now looks far more appealing and according to my friend who went there just last week, the service is still brilliant. She was so RUDE and disgusting towards me on the phone, i physically had to go visit the store to put a face to the name. As i started expressing my concerns to her as a customer, before i could even finish speaking, she just looked me straight in the eyes in front of all the customers and yelled at me to 'LEAVE' three times and said she doesn't want me in the store. She obviously felt very defensive when i expressed my opinion, and had no response but to try humiliate me. It's quite funny to be honest because her business will suffer from her behavior. I feel bad for her as she must have a very troubled and stressed life to treat another human being with such disrespect. I've never experienced such poor behavior and lack of humility before in my life. But i refuse to let such an petty and clearly unhappy woman to ruin my day so i strongly suggest to everyone reading this, not to bother stepping foot into that business unless you want to spoil your day. With society evolving so rapidly and people raising more and more awareness, every day we are reminded to treat fellow humans with respect. A massage here is exceptional, with the therapists obviously holding a high amount of training and experience. Sore legs? They'll spend more time on those when you tell them beforehand. A little knot in your left shoulder? Don't worry, they'll find it and gently knead it out. Don't worry about walking out feeling like an oil slick as they'll use hot towels to remove excess oil before giving you an oil-free face massage. I am a special case 1) My sister does Laser hair removal in the United states. I wrote several places around Auckland to find a place which has an Alexandrite Laser and the Zimmer cooling system. Those two paired together are the only laser technology which can get my stubborn facial hair to fall out with no adverse risks of burning. At the time of my queries, New Face was the only place in Auckland with that technology. I had my sister send them what settings work on me, and they said they could use those settings. 2) I was wanting laser hair removal on my snail trail and small amounts of facial hair. (not my personal parts). I was a paying customer willing to pay the rates they offered. 3) I had a long email exchange verifying that they had the technology I needed, and after writing several other places around Auckland, figured out they were the only place with the technology I needed. It was clear that I was a male, but they advised me anyways. 4) I went into the location, and they did the consultation with me where I gave them the settings and they said that my sister used on me, and they verified that their machine could be set to it. There was only one problem, they stated to me that they are a women's only clinic, and that I would need to contact the owner for approval before the technician would treat me. I saw this as a small hurdle. 5) I called the owner. No response the first day. I called the second day, and after about 20 minutes on the phone, trying to get approval, she never approved me. During the conversation, the owner even admitted that it was a flawed business model that they had only offering laser hair removal to women. (men are hairier, according to my sister men are her more loyal laser hair removal customers, among other reasons). Furthermore, even though she knew that she was the only place in Auckland that offered the technology that could treat my hair, she still refused to work with me just because I am a man. She told me she wished they could treat me, but still refused. I cannot get laser hair removal in Auckland now, and will have to travel to another city (not sure which one yet) to find the right technology. Other laser clinics offer inferior technology which would NOT cause my hair to fall out. Please do not work with New Face. Thank you.

Kim was very professional, efficient and friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole session They also have an online booking system which is such a convenience when you're trying to juggle other life appointments. most salons dont offer this and you'd have to call them several weeks in advance to get an appointment. A few days after my session I received an email from them thanking me for coming in and they even threw in a voucher to use for my next visit ! And yes they have undercover parking too ! I even tried to call them to say I was trying to find a park but seeing as there wasn't a receptionist, my call went unanswered. No one from the spa thought to even call me to see if I was on my way. After stepping inside and ringing the bell twice over 15 minutes, I was happy to see reputable brands for sale but was still left unacknowledged. Someone took my appointment time. Unfortunately they were unaccommodating in finding a resolution of the situation besides another appointment time which didn't work for me - I already took time off work for that time frame. Bummer, I was hoping to be a repeat, monthly client with them. Guess I'm still on the hunt for a great waxing location...
