She elaborated that the tooth they worked on was ineligible due to that tooth being worked on by another dentist within the past 2 years. I was beyond shocked to hear this and was absolutely certain this was a misunderstanding. I asked the billing representative, "Please, explain it to me like I'm a child, because I am for sure not understanding this." She told me that maybe it would be best to call my insurance company. That is precisely what I did: I reached a representative that was able to paint a clear picture for me. This is what happened: 1. Currently, I pay Delta Dental over $50 a month. I have been with them over over 2 years, and I have never missed a payment. 2. I had a cavity worked on by a dentist at Desert Sage Dental in Mountain Home, ID, on November 13, 2017. 3. On January 30, 2019, I had a new cavity form on the same tooth. This cavity was treated and repaired by Dr. Hall in at the Dental Center (who did a fantastic job.) 4. The insurance company stated that I had cryptic fine print which says a tooth can only be worked on once every 2 years even if it is a new cavity on the other side. So, lets recap: It was my responsibility to know which tooth was worked on by another dentist. It was my responsibility to hire an attorney so that I could understand my convoluted disingenuous dental policy and discern the lowball sneak-attack constituents which subtly protect it's worthless value. I have a "A" grade by the BBB for a reason: I try my best to treat my customers fair and typically to their advantage; I make concessions in favor of the client since...well...it's the right thing to do. It is unfortunate that the insurance policy has to resort to a different policy. They spend more time preventing people from actually using their insurance than the time they devote to improving their business and expanding their clientele. I have a few things I would like to add: first, I want to talk about the picture. I am including this so you may see how "easy" it was for me to know exactly where they were working prior to them drilling. It appears I have to be a dentist (AND an attorney) before opting for Delta Dental insurance. Secondly, I called Desert Sage to respectfully request for a peaceful resolution. I tried with all my might to approach them over the phone with as much professionalism as I could muster. Unfortunately, a manager named Chad Stele, was difficult to communicate with. He, at first, recommended for the wording of the claim to be adjusted. Then he stated that the "bottom line" was: I chose to go to another dentist instead of coming back. I also KNEW which tooth it was that the new dentist was working on. Neither of those two comments were correct. I didn't have a choice to go back to the original dentist. Desert Sage discharged me since I missed two consecutive appts. That is why I chose a more expensive dentist instead of Desert Sage. Chad also said that I needed to do more research on my insurance. Not only should I do study my policy better, I should know what tooth is being worked on. I have had over 30 tooth procedures in my life. I believe I had 8 of them done at Desert Sage. I have had probably that many at the Dental Center. I have NO idea who did what. I think it was unfair to ignore my complaint entirely and place words into my mouth. I feel that he was combative over the phone in response to my complaint's delivery. He then mocked me when I asked for HR's email address. I was wanting to clarify part of the spelling of the email and asked if it was: "Sarah...Charlie..Charlie." He quickly barks out the entire email all the way through the ".com" in military lingo. I think this man needs to go to business school and learn how to talk to patients (even though they are of a different race.)

When I am dealing with something so important as my health I want to see expressions and be able to hear my doctor speak! Thank you so much for being a place of normalcy that doesn't spew the fear agenda! I am so happy to have found this place!!!

I was the only patient there and the only person wearing a mask. i thought, perhaps, they had all gotten the vaccine, ergo no masks but when I asked the medical assistant who was taking my blood pressure she replied, "no, and I don't believe in the vaccine." She also stated that no one else had received it either and that no one in the clinic had been wearing masks at all throughout the pandemic. When she was taking my blood pressure ,and no more than 2 feet away from my face, I asked her "What if you are sick right now and don't know it and are infecting me at this moment?", she replied that, "she didn't think she was sick and that all of this "pandemic stuff has been greatly exaggerated". I was incensed. Literally stunned. How can an entire clinic with 3 doctors and several medical assistants be so blind and foolish and blatantly indifferent to the health of their patients? It became clear that this attitude was based in politics and I left sick to my stomache. I have been extraordinarily careful and even wear a mask at home as my wife is exposed to students every day and then I walk into my doctors clinic to discover that I have now been exposed to 4 separate people who cant be bothered to wear masks. I love my PA at this clinic, really like the guy but found this situation insulting and frightening. So, I guess, if you love Trump so much that you are willing to risk your very life, and/or all the many crippling life long after effects of surviving covid 19, then I highly recommend this clinic. If you want doctors who put their patients health, welfare and lives above their own politics and conspiracy theories, then this is evidently not the place for you. So disheartening. I am now in a self-imposed quarantine waiting to see if the woman who said she "didn't think she was sick" has actually infected me with Covid 19.
