This is a really great walk-in nail salon, located next to Macy's in Downtown Summerlin. My mom was in town this weekend so we wanted to check out this new mall and decided to stop in and get mani pedi's. Very friendly and talented guys there, they did a great job. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because we ended up waiting a bit long, and our services were out of sync so I was complete done when my mom was just starting her manicure. Came in here for a gel manicure and regular pedicure on what seemed to be a slow day. I was attended to quickly which was nice. The massage chair was that my butt didn't fall asleep. Customer service was great. The only reason I didn't chose 5 stars was because the tech Susan filled one nail lopsided and I had to fix it myself. My nails take forever to grow for her to sit there and make them crooked, I nicely said stop and showed her, she didn't understand so I proceeded to file my own nails. She also forgot to dip my mani in water and clean the nails. They had beautiful colors so I will be back again but I will not be going to Susan for my manicure. Rude staff. Not a great experience. My tech cut my toe and said it was because i had an ingrown for nail....which i did not. It was because she was talking to the tech next to her. The two of them were awkwardly arguing half the time. Then the tech that did my pedi, "V", went to do my daughter's gel mani. The final color looked nothing like the color we picked and I nicely asked why it looks so different. She stood up, pointed her finger in my daughter's face (who was quiet the whole time) and started screaming. I asked to to please calm down and she kept screaming. They offered to do the nails over again (that wasn't even what I asked for, I was simply questioning why to color looked so different). We decided to leave. She was still screaming as I paid for our pedicures. Crying and yelling that we hurt her feelings. Then started complaining to other customers about us. What the heck? All of this because I questioned a color. I didn't even demand for it to be redone. If it were to be redone, I told them I'd pay more for their time. This was the craziest experience. We thought we were being punked and I was waiting for Ashton Kutcher to come running in with cameras. They apologized and didn't charge us for the gel manicure (even though I was willing to pay for it anyway). My daughter was so confused and I'm still sitting here scratching my head. Unreal. I'm so happy that I finally found a fantastic technician who does such awesome work! Sam is the owner and his work is phenomenal. I have a special needs big toe that require a lot of artistry to make the acrylic look so real. He is very experienced and consistent with his work. Sam takes his time to perfect his work and I love his pedicure massages! You know how some other technician barely touches and massage your feet and legs? I wanted to get him nails done as it has been years since I had an opportunity. When I walked in the place seemed clean and the atmosphere seemed fine. But the first thing the greeter asked me was whether I wanted gel or no gel. When I said I wanted "no gel" she said 20 minutes. I looked at my boyfriend and said let's come back. When I arrived back at 8 pm -- 1 hour before closing they were able to service me. The ladies are not friendly and there was zero small talk. I didn't mind to much but felt awkward staring at the television on the wall. It's only been a day and my nail polish already coming off. I don't perform any manual labor or anything. I'm just a bit disappointed that in this day and age my own Opi nail polish lasts longer than the salon brand. And I don't like gel because it makes my real nails feel soft afterwards. Horrible experience considering all I wanted was my was hands and feet filed with no polish. I arrived when the salon opened and was the first customer. The staff was not ready when I walked in (no appointment) so I waited a few minutes. She started my pedicure and proceeded to answer the phone which meant she stopped what she was doing. The second call she answered I mentioned I was in a rush since this was to be a quick mani/pedi and not a spa version. She did not appear to be happy to be there working which only contributed to her crappy service. She did not use any effort to scrub my feet and my nails were uneven and rough. Ok so I'm a blonde 14 year old so I look like I am dumb and can be easily manipulated. I went in today to get a fill and I left with a new set. I had 2 nails that completely fell off and I told Julie (my nail tech) that when I sat down. She said that it's a $5 fee for each nail that is broken. I have never heard that before and I have came in here with broken nails before. But I said that it was fine. Later she said another nail was about to pop off when I thought it was completely fine. I said "oh ok" as she continued to rip that nail off. She said that all of my other nails are about to fall off. And I'm angry at this point because all of my other nails were fine. I asked her how much it was it get a new set and she said $45. My friend got up and looked at the sign and said that it says it is only $30. Meanwhile Julie is taking off all of my acrylics. Julie said that there is a $5 fee to take off the acrylics when I never asked her to take them off she just did it. I told Julie I only have $40 and she said that was ok. So she continues to do my nails and I'm sitting there extremely angry and annoyed. When it comes for her to cut my acrylics she made them super short and square. I normally have long and almond shape. I asked her if I can have it long and almond and she said that is $10!!! That is ridiculous it's always $5 for both of those not $10! So I end up paying her $35 leaving with no tip and very angry and I feel taken advantage of. Everybody else there does an amazing job especially a young lady there. Julie did a good job on my nails she just took advantage of me. She has ruined my day and made me cry. I don't think I will come back and if I do I will only ask for the younger lady that works there. I am so angry and disappointed at this customer service. I wish this was a very positive review. I went in for nail dipping and a polish change on my toes. I was a walk-in and did not have to wait. The main problem came with service. Nobody addressed me by name or even introduced themselves. There was a lot of talking amongst the nail technicians in a language that was not English. Am I the only one that finds that rude? The guy who was doing my nails seemed pissed that the other employees were leaving (it was after 8 pm) and a couple of girls came back and cleaned more. The job on my my nails seemed average. Today I went to charming nails in the summerlin mall with my family. It was terrible. First off, the man who was doing my sisters nails was too busy watching the football game to notice he messed up the shape of her nails & didn't ask her how short or long she wanted it or if she likes the color. Second, the lady who did my moms toes cut her multiple times. Third, the women doing my fathers toes was inconsiderate about the water temperature when my father asked her for warm (it was boiling hot). She also was in a rush because she had an appointment after wards making her nail polish job sloppy. Last but not least, I asked for coffin shaped nails and the women did coffin shaped on one hand but the other hand was squared. She was clearly rushing making my nails lumpy & disproportionate. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! TRUST ME! While they are very friendly, the service is SO bad. The person I have seen for years somewhere else had an unexpected emergency, so I had no choice but to try a new place. I am at downtown summerlin often & the location was convenient so I decided to give them a try. I explained that I am particular with my nails/feet & need the person with the most experience. They did my pedicure 1st. The chair was nice but that was about it. He didn't cut my toe nails, didn't shape them, didn't do much of anything besides remove the polish & when I asked for callus removal, he broke out an actual cheese grater! Not a pedicure foot tool, an actual cheese grater for CHEESE! I tried to explain that I needed the nails trimmed too but he kept pretending not to hear or understand & was finished the pedi in 15m min-with polish...no buffing nothing! (and its been 1 day since then, and my toe polish already chipped!...normally I can go 2 weeks plus without chipping) Next he started my fill. drilled my acrylic down & passed me off to another co-worker who he said does a better job. OK, she said I needed a new full set otherwise they'd look bad (which is double the price) so I said fine go ahead. Each nail is a different shape, NO nail was even; width or length. Each nail looked worse than the next, crooked, mis-shaped etc. I tried to keep telling her that this one needed filing & that one was too long, and this was too short...but she really seemed to not know how to fix and I left SO unhappy. I have NEVER EVER had my nails done so badly before, even traveling abroad! I ended up having to pay someone at my gym, lifetime to attempt to fix the shape to tide me over until I get another fill. I got a pedicure today. The woman did a terrible job of shaping my nails and one of my toes is in pain because she cut the nail too short. It's a weird mix of rounded and square and too short and too long. They also kick you out of the massage chair the second your done even when there aren't people waiting. One of the women who went with my friend and me had to ask to be able to stay with us until our pedicures were done after she was directed to move. Never going back. read more

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GO HERE, EVEN IF IT IS THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH! We made an appointment for five people in advance. In person, and I asked if they could accomodate all of us at the designated hour as I only saw four manicurists. I was assured by the gentleman at the desk, that yes, when we arrived at 4:30 on a Monday, for two manicures, one gel, one mani-pedi, and one silk refill/ pedi, that we would all be accomodated at the same time. Man, were we thrown down the rabbit hole! there were only four manicurists there at 4:30, two were giving other people pedicures who had clearly come in around 4:15 or so, as they still had their feet in the water, and thus began our birthday fun! In fact, the birthdaty girl was the LAST ONE TO GET WORKED ON, almost 45 minutes after we arrived, and only after, I (the silk refill) was going to go to another salon around the corner, to get my nails done! but the best is yet to come! I explicitely requested SILK refills. I was told i could have silk refills, and they have a menu price for them. The woman who did my pedicure (stabbing my toes along the way) kept trying to get me to do gel, but I said no, I want silk! The fellow who own the joint, finally said dont go to the other salon i will do your silk refill. When he proceeded to put powder on my nails, I asked him what he was doing? He told me, after placing these on my left hand, (all five nails) that this is the way everyone does silk refills, with ACRYLIC!!!!!! I told him no they dont, they use silk, to refill. He just ruined my nails! now i have to soak these chemicals off to replace them with the silk. No one puts acrylic on silk, they use silk. So thank you for ruining my nails, with this rough texture that you call silk. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOUR PRACTICES. YOU SHOULD TAKE THE SILK OFF OF YOUR MENU ITEMS IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO DO THEM. AND YOU SHOULDNT TELL PEOPLE YOU CAN ACCOMODATE THEM AS CLIENTS, IF YOU CANT. Between the drilling and buffing, I'm afraid of what has become of my nail beds. I told the girl several times to go lightly and gently. Not even sure she understood me. I have been coming to Charming Nails for more than a year. I typically see Julie but have gone to other technicians as well. I always get dipping powder for my mani and regular polish for my pedi. Julie does an amazing job every time. My nails are always beautifully done and with the dipping powder, look so natural. Not thick like acrylic can sometimes look. Julie does a great job listening to what I want. She is always warm, kind and considerate with me. This salon is clean and has high quality products. I have seen friends go to other salons for dipping powder and none compare to Charming Nails. I have recommended this place to friends who now also come here. read more
