I saw someone at the office front - a younger man with glasses who although seemingly polite in his words clearly didn't trust or believe me. I had received an advertisement in the mail with an introductory interest of 4.5%, he asked if I had this on me and I responded that I did not. Nothing on the advertisement directed me to keep it and bring it into the branch. He then queried me about what the ad card stated and I gave him the details that I remembered. He said not everyone gets one of these and you have to be 'invited' to receive one! He then stated he had to have the correct code on the flier, but was able to look it up online after making a call and also confirm the details that I had earlier described. I provided a personal check drawn on a local financial institution and he stated he would have to place a hold on it for 7 business days with a tiered release of $225.00 immediately, and additional amount two business days later and then the remaining balance 7 business days or 11 calendar days later. When I got home from this transaction, I realized how uncomfortable I felt with him and how they ran their 'ship' -- there was NO attempt to shorten the holds even though I've sent checks out of state that have cleared in less than 4 business days. So much for being 'invited'! I decided to close ALL of my accounts there. When I returned, I was told I couldn't close the money market account until the check was returned because it had already been submitted through ACH. I immediately placed a stop payment on the check. And I could not close my other accounts until the next day because they placed another hold on another (government)check. My other financial institution knows me, trusts me, and attempts to provide some level of customer service by analyzing what's in front of them. Goodbye, Travis- Southampton, your interest rates were enticing, but your customer services suck enough for me to never want to return again. Oh, and when I went online to share my experience with them, they obviously muted any ability to share anything... I couldn't even type one letter in the box provided.

During this process, they ran into an issue I thought it was a fraud alert because I get them all of the time. Even when i'm right here in my hometown twenty feet from my house, I still get them. I'll get to the point. This black woman came over to help and was very rude from the beginning. She said, oh, so she doesn't have her card. And I said, no I have my card, and she's like, excuse me, ma'am, I'm trying to excuse me, ma'am, I just got over here, okay, stuff like that stuff that you just shouldn't be saying, if you're in customer service period if you're in customer service. You know how to treat the customer and I felt completely disrespected. I felt like she was trying to embarrass me in front of everyone else. And just be really petty and rude for no reason. When i'm literally just coming in there to get a few dollars like she made it uncomfortable for me.She made it a big deal when she didn't have to.And that's the last thing you should do when you're working in customer service. A HUGE thumbs down to bank of america for that.

I've given them chance after chance, hoping that they would change their practices ,how they treat customers and be more aware of their own banking information. today I had the misfortune of speaking with someone named Rachel, whom I finally was able to get transferred to a so-called manager Alejandra. She was even less helpful than the first person I spoke with. I agree with the other person this bank branch needs to be shut down unless until they can hire people that have good customer skills and can answer customer questions about deposits, CDs accounts without getting defensive. I was actually told by Alejandro who claims to be a manager that I can use my own calculator to do a calculation when I asked a simple question regarding a CD interest! to say they are horrible is a understatement myself and four other family members will be taking our money out of this institution and going elsewhere, it hires the most disrespectful, unprofessional bankers.,If you can even call them that I have ever experienced ...please do not put your money there. You will regret it.

I haven't been needing to use banks anymore than occasional deposits and withdrawals, but this past year I found myself taking a lot of trips to the bank for work. Looking back, I feel very lucky to have had Keith helping me during those hectic times. Keith had been there for me and lead me through all the obstacles. He was professional, courteous and diligent, he was very thorough with all the paperworks and was always available. I was at some point panicking about some international wires that won't go through and he was able to explain things to me in a manner that calmed me down. However the outcome was - it was not satisfying due to US Bank's policy - I was calm enough to find another way to take care of what I needed to get done. Late last year I had an account with Chase next door and after being treated horribly by their manager, ultimately, Keith was also the reason why I chose to open a new business account with US Bank. I can't say this branch is any better than other branches, but I think anyone would be happy to work with someone who care as much as Keith does. Thank you for all your help :) I really appreciate it.

I set an appointment to open an account for my daughter, who is a minor. We thought this was a good option to manage allowance and teach responsibility. Charles called to follow up on the appointment and then told me to make sure to bring an ID or Passport, when I said we didn't have either because she's a minor, he said we wouldn't be able to open the account. His tone was very condescending throughout the conversation. I mentioned online that it's mentioned I can bring social security card or birth certificate, and he sarcastically responded "oh, do you have those?" Based on his attitude I opted to cancel the appointment and open the account at another branch. But I wanted to give feedback to the branch manager so this doesn't happen to anyone else. Charles answered the line and said he couldn't give me the Branch Manager's contact and he didn't know when he would be in. He then said he didn't know what he did wrong and when I tried explaining why I was uncomfortable, he kept cutting me off. I finally had to disconnect the call. Such a bizarre interaction and unnecessary for Charles to take out his frustrations on clients and give false information.

I've been with Umpqua Bank for so long because of the General Manager, Denise Chisley. Unfortunately, Denise has since retired and the rest of these branches have gone to garbage. The manager in the Benicia location is stubborn and unhelpful. He was speaking to me as though I am remedial. It's so sad that after so many years of loyalty, I'm now closing 2 accounts an unsatisfied customer. This is even worse for Umpqua because they are losing accounts and closing branches every day. The Benicia manager is refusing to refund a $35 penalty for a $6.99 over draft. I've recently had a baby and haven't been checking my app everyday. I've never had this issue before because the Bank usually alerts me before this happens as I also have a savings account (with money in it) opened at the same location! However, because the manager is unable to find my old records, he's refusing to reverse this $35 penalty. It's ridiculous! I usually don't leave bad reviews because I hate blasting small business. But, at this point, I'm so fed up this bank. It's frightening to think that they've lost almost 20 years of my bank records.

They were taken over by Umpqua, a slightly bigger company, but still small compared to the others. From time time to time, I'd go in the branch & the staff were always friendly. Recently I needed to redo my will (add the first grandchild & exclude an ex-wife) & needed witnesses. Thinking a notary public would be a good one, I visited the Benicia branch of Umpqua; it took three visits & v. useful information from the notary, before I finally had the new will stamped & signed by him & witnessed by 2 staff. Don't think B of A or HSBC would do that! I'd just reviewed the local Ace Hardware & got a response from their owner. The employees are rude and condescending and could use some serious training in customer service. Specifically Gisele, and Fernando. All of them need instruction on how to be nice to people. I made several attempts to speak to someone in regards to fraud, holds on a payroll check, and the atm was not updating. I was hung up on by Gisele who told me rudely she already answered my questions and that the branch was closing and she didn't have time. Fernando couldn't explain any reason why a payroll check was being held and I'd have to wait 2 days if I wanted some money. He also said if I didn't want it held to walk in with the check or get direct deposit it's not his problem. The last two times I went in I wanted a printout, they treated me like a criminal for asking questions about my PERSONAL account history. Trying to take 26 years of history somewhere else so I can stop getting treated like shit has been exhausting. So my checking is now closed and now to get the rest out. Beware don't bank here, they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Not just this branch but the entire usbank as a whole.
