This has caused significant inconvenience, as I now must update my automatic payments and make alternative arrangements for my weekend responsibilities. Had a proper check done during my initial call, this entire situation could have been avoided. What is most disappointing is the lack of customer service and professionalism shown throughout this situation. When I received the follow-up call informing me that my card had been found, no responsibility was taken for the error, nor was there any acknowledgment of the inconvenience this caused. The entire experience was handled poorly and left me feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously. I believe customers deserve accurate information, proper assistance, and accountability when mistakes are made. The lack of attention, professionalism, and ownership in this situation is unacceptable and has resulted in unnecessary stress and inconvenience. I would also like to note that this experience has been unique to this branch. I have visited and worked with many other branches before and have never received this level of poor service. I am currently fighting with them and Experian to have this FRAUDULENT DEBT removed from my credit file. I found out that the AAA offices in Fairfield and New Haven Counties no longer offer the service, so I was DREADING the long lines at the local DMV. Luckily, I stumbled upon DMV Express in Milford. It's part of Nutmeg Credit Union. Wow! I was greeted pleasantly upon entering and shown a computer kiosk where I signed in and paid the $8 "convenience fee." (I like to think of it as the "Well, this doesn't suck" fee.) That's waived for members of the credit union. I only had to wait 5 minutes, which is amazing, since the regular DMVs were all closed, this being a Monday. I was waited on by another very nice person who took care of the paperwork and photo and gave me a temporary license. (CT now sends permanent licenses out from a secure location, so they can take up to 20 days. The temp one is good for 30 days.) The location is convenient, with plenty of parking and the inside is bright, clean and cheerful with plenty of comfortable seating. It's really nice to know that the next time I need to renew my license, I don't have to enter DMV Hell to do it.
