She was extremely patient explaining what the steps were to freeze the account, reopen, and how best to protect him (patiently repeating for my father). Our family has been with this Credit Union for over 30 years. We cannot begin to say enough good things about this credit union itself and all of the employees. But specifically last Monday morning, Cathy went above and beyond, showed patience with my 90 plus year old father who can barely hear with hearing aids (90%hearing loss). Her compassion, understanding, assistance in solving the problem at hand, working to assure that my father had everything managed and tips to protect from future happenings. Doing business with this bank is like dealing with used car salesman. They pester you nonstop…read moretrying to get you to open more accounts, or give them more access to personal info. It is bad enough they hound you when going in the bank, but they also call you non stop with ridiculous things to get you to come into the bank so they can push you even more. They are rude and pushy, and the employees seem miserable. They limit how much you can take out of your account even though its your $. I want to close my account, but I know that will be another ordeal

After reimbursement check from a very large car dealership in Webster I was informed by the office manager that I would be able to bring the check directly to M&T Bank on hard Rd. I proceeded to hard Rd drive through. Due to the fact I did not have an account there would be a 2% fee , which i agreed to. The teller took the check and my ID. After about 30 seconds came back with attitude and refused to cash the check. This is a unprofessional, unfriendly bank. I suggest to everyone to try canandaigua National bank, they are friendly accommodating and would never charge people you write a check to 2% to cash it ! I depositing into my account I traveled back to dealership who issued the check and smeared my experience with them. I was told they also were not happy with M&T due to issues like mine and other customer service issues.
