This past Friday was my 2nd time going. My 1st time experience was on a Friday with DJ performance and was great and atmosphere. But I attended a birthday celebration with a small group all married good looking couples. Next to us were some huge older men with their wives or older ladies in their mid 40s acting like in their 20. The wives were grinding on each other and screaming and dropping their drinks caught attention. They behaved childish trying to get attention from others but was distracting. One of the huge man approached one of our friends husband saying why he's looking back so much assuming starring at his old lady. Believe me their ladies were not pretty or attractive just drunk. Our friends told him, why would I be starring at your wife if I got my wife here next to me fool. It became intense and the fat dude walks out with his buddies. Hour later we left and who did he call his ghetto biker friends to handle his man business. Security guard was aware of the situation and walked back inside after to get involved even after he knew the drama inside but was more concerned for picking up the empty glasses inside. The dirty bikers with their biker chick started to yell out their group name intimidate our friends. Other people that frequent there said they never seen the bikers before there and never went inside to drink only guarding the door that evening. Really Dark. Have to park in a residential area, or run across the busy street. Only one pool table that theirs NO ROOM for. Service is great, prices are good. read more

Very cool place to hang out. They run an open mic for comedy every Thursday with varying degrees of talent. Some were ok but some we're pretty funny. Very reasonable prices and an open atmosphere and a nice pool table. The bartender was fast and friendly. read more

Great bar! I always love coming out for comedy night on Sunday's, that's mainly when I go, and I've never had trouble with any of the bartenders here they are very accommodating. If you haven't come here for comedy night you're missing out and if you haven't had a pickle back with their house made pickle juice then you must try this bar. Were has Chatterbox been all my life! One of the best local bars ive been to. Not only do they have Happy hour till 9 ($2pbr $3wells) but they have stand up comedy on Sundays at 930 pm. And its Free! The staff is super friendly and funny as hell. Ive only been three times and its never been a disappointed. For shure our new spot on weeknds. I specifically opened up an account with Yelp to rate this bar. I normally don't do this, but hopefully after reading this you will understand why. It's Sunday night, June 5th, 2011, and my friends and I decide to end our night at the Chatterbox. We get there around 10PM and my friend opens a tab. Since I was the DD I only had a couple beers, but my friend kept running up his tab quickly. It was about to hit 12:30AM when I decided my friend already had too much to drink so I asked the bartender to close the tab. He politely did so and the balance came out to $75. I decided I was going to close the tab, and play some pool, let my friend sober up a bit until it was time to go and of course leave a tip for the bartender. I never had the chance to leave the tip because all of a sudden a young female, who I witnessed chatting up the bartender the entire night, approaches my friend. She kindly asked him to step outside to have a word with him, so I followed them out because I genuinely thought he was being kicked out for being too drunk. I come outside, I turn the corner and I see her holding the receipt, and his credit card asking him for his signature. Okay....nothing weird about this, except maybe going outside, but okay...it's credible. He signs and puts a zero on the tip, because I had already told him I would pay cash at the end of the night. Without any sense of dignity, she starts complaining about why the tip is zero. Before my friend could answer her I intervened. I asked what the problem was and she tried to get me to go away. Why? Maybe because she knew my friend was really drunk and she wanted to take advantage of him, who knows. I let her know he was my friend and that I was the one who closed the tab for him, and wanted to know what the problem was. She restated her question about why we choose not to tip the bartender. Before I could answer her, she obnoxiously brought up the fact that she had recently read this article that claims that "Americans are harming their own economy by not tipping hard working laborers". As a college student, and the combination of being sober and offended, I asked her where she was getting her sources from and to explain to me what qualifies bartenders as "hard working laborers". She replied that it didn't matter, that I wouldn't understand the concept of the article, that the main point was that we should tip the bartender. At this point I was furious. I said to her, "Look, I understand you're upset about the tip, but it's not like we're leaving for the night, we're still buying drinks, we're just paying cash and as a college student I'm offended that you would bring up some bullshit article with nothing to back it up, and expect my friend to just tip you, just because you said so." She replied by saying, "I don't give a shit where you go to school, wherever you go is nothing compared to YALE." So I asked her, "If you went to YALE, what are you doing working in a place like this?" and she stated, "I don't work here". So my head rushed with questions, but only one came out of my mouth. "Then why the fuck do you have my friend's credit card, receipt and begging us for money if you don't work here?" She quickly returned my friends card and receipt and rushed back inside. I tried talking to a manager, but very conveniently he was not present and could not be reached. So here I am. I'm still wondering: Who is she? Is she an employee? Why would she verbally attack us if we were still in the bar buying drinks? Why would she risk losing our business for a few bucks? Who the fuck is this bitch? Why would a supposed YALE student be begging, or rather be bitching about a tip? In my opinion, if there was an issue with the tip, the bartender should have handled it like a man. Not try to send some skank to fix his problem by taking advantage of my drunken friend. I support small businesses everywhere, but I will say that this place should be avoided. I don't believe the way they handle their business is ethical and quite frankly, there so many places that are much better than this bar. read more

This is by far my favorite bar. Everything about this place is awesome. The jukebox has good sound, and all the bartenders are very friendly. They also perform very well when it comes to mixology. i come here because all of my friends live in covina and i work in covina so its easy. the bar is small! but they do have a pool table & a juke box. nice couches along the wall. 1 bathroom stall, which can be a pain on a crowded night with lots of girls drinking. Great atmosphere! I don't live in Covina, but it's defintely worth the 40 min drive to watch have a drink with a chill crowd. Top 5 favorite dive bars. They have one of my favorite beers, Firestone Double Jack. Ty have Comedy on Sundays and every time the show is hilarious. They seem to find the funniest underrated and most notable comedians around. Once you start becoming a regular, you're basically are part of the family. This establishment is very interactive, friendly people cheap drinks and laughs on sunday. read more

So we were gonna go to the crazyhorse but i noticed it only had 1 and a half stars & we didnt wanna drive too far from my girls moms house so we decided to hit up the Chatterbox. It looks like a total shithole walking up to it but once u step inside they have it decorated pretty nice ..cool lil ambiance . One thing that i hated about this jawn is the fuckin jukebox filled with a majority of gay shit and it never played the tracks i picked .. i was there for nearly 2 hours and didnt hear one of my songs . Bar staff was pretty cool and the drinks were strong and cheap. ( i ended up drinking 5 adios's 1 yager bomb i was super drunk at end of night . young crowd 70/30 male to female ratio . They have one pool table and people are on it all night . I had the pleasure of whooping a local pool sharks ass by the name of "Mo" He was really intent on embarassing me infront of my people and his peoples. he began sinking shot after shot luckily im at my best wen under diress so soon as he screwed up i had to turn my game on and took the W . Met some locals who had no idea where the kush was which was gay but watever I definitly heading back here next time im in town ye dig! read more

this place is an ok spot to chill with friends and grab a drink. drinks are reasonable price. they have a jukebox but sometimes they don't play the music you pay to hear. they have one pool table. and the ppl who play are regulars and are annal if you don't write your name on the board to play a game. this bar is awful small. and there is a long restroom wait on busy nights (take it that they only have one toilet for the ladies. idk about the men's). the last friday of the month they have a dj night where they turn the bar into a mini club but let me warn you!!! it gets hella packed. to the point you are elbowing ppl. and to make it worst, the pool table is on the way and takes up ALOT Of space.
