Big thumbs up for our experience at the Centralia Beauty College!…read more My two boys needed to get their hair cut and we'd been looking and searching around at places around the area that we felt comfortable with, would do a good job, and not charge an arm and a leg. I decided to call the Beauty College and got the scoop from the very helpful receptionist and decided to book their appointments. I am very glad we did. From the start, I asked and the receptionist helped me schedule both boys at the same time with side-by-side stylists that were good with kids and during a time of day that wasn't too busy (knowing that a louder and busier time would be way too overwhelming for the kids). We had Nicole and Kenzie as our stylists and both did a great job with the cuts. They were patient, kind, and took their time with the cut and made sure things were okay as they went along. They listens to me as I explained what type of cut we were wanting and to look at the sample pictures that I brought. The boys liked them both too, and said that they felt comfortable and would be good with going back to them again. The prices are great there as well. They have a tiered pricing scale depending on the level of the stylist (Level 1 is the least expensive and experienced stylist and it works up to a Level 5). Nicole and Kenzie were Level 2 (they will undoubtedly move up the scale as they work) and charge just $15 for a cut - and it was 10% off for kids. I'll certainly schedule the boys again and would recommend you give them a shot too. When she started cutting, I even said she could take a little more of the dead hair off, but to still keep it mid-length. Instead, she kept cutting until my hair turned into a shaggy, choppy mullet -- uneven short layers on top of my head, choppy short bangs, and random pieces missing. I ended up losing around 12 inches of hair, which I never asked for or agreed to. Both women I worked with were very kind, and I truly appreciate that. But someone should have stepped in -- especially the supervisor. People working there were giving me looks like they could tell something was going wrong, and it made me feel sick. It felt like everyone around me could see the disaster unfolding, and no one stepped in to help or correct it. I'm also really bad at confrontation, and I know that's something I need to work on. But by the time I realized just how much she was cutting, it already felt too late to speak up. I don't know anything about hair, so I was really trying to trust the process because she seemed confident. And hair looks different wet vs dry, so I kept doubting myself. I wasn't trying to be difficult -- I truly didn't understand the severity until she finally turned me to the mirror, and by then it was already a choppy mullet/shag. What makes this even worse is that this happened the day after another stylist (who was also nice) left highlight foils in my hair for six hours, which absolutely fried my hair. The first image of my hair -- that's how it looked before all of this. I know now it was damaged, but it still felt silky, soft, and healthy enough that I could run my hands through it. The girl who did my highlights completely fried it, and then instead of repairing it, the next stylist kept cutting shorter and shorter like that was the only answer. I used inspiration photos that still had length, and I even said I wanted to keep mine longer than the inspo. The last photos show what I actually ended up with, and it's honestly horrible. Nothing I asked for -- trim dead ends, keep it mid-length, soft curtain bangs, face framing -- matches the choppy shag/mullet cut I was given. I feel like nothing I said was listened to. And what breaks me the most is that my hair won't grow back by March, which is my birthday and the military ball I'm supposed to attend. It also won't be grown out for my graduation and Engagement photos, which I was really looking forward to. I don't have $4,000 for extensions to fix this. I genuinely don't know what to do, and I'm just so sad. I've never felt this heartbroken over my hair in my life... This has ruined my self confidence badly. For some reason they keep deleting or taking my review down it keeps disappearing which is not okay. I've spent about six months growing it out now and it's so dead and fried that's barely grown. I've done everything in my power to reach out they got back to me but have been ignoring me completely now

Monthly check-ins from the owners, which were promised, did not occur as described. The daytime class would often share training or experiences that were not provided to the evening class. During my training, I also experienced inconsistency in instruction due to instructor changes and disruptions, which impacted the continuity of learning and preparation for the state licensing exam. After completing the program and becoming licensed, my experience working in the esthetics field has not aligned with the expectations presented during enrollment, particularly regarding career stability and outcomes.

Having started the combo course here, I've truly been able to learn and absorb so much knowledge of the skin, the different treatments and techniques, explore various beauty brands and their awesome products but also how to navigate and startup your esthetics journey. Sandy and Haley are such great instructors but also great Master Estheticians themselves with their own thriving and successful businesses! I can appreciate their extensive knowledge as instructors which is invaluable to us students as we begin our esthetics journey. I am very happy to have come across this school and to have such supportive and understanding instructors who are also eager and excited for their students to excel and succeed in the beauty industry!
