Turns out it was the water pump, and it was throwing a code for the fan clutch, so he suggested I replace that as well - since it had to come off to get the new water pump in anyway. The new fan clutch was unbalanced and failed after driving for a day, ripping its own harness off, causing a short that prevented the vehicle from starting once I arrived home. I called and talked to Elite Performance, and they had my vehicle towed back in to repair it. They switched to another brand of fan clutch and replaced it at no charge. Stand-up guys! I will be taking it back to get the engine tuned soon.

I had engaged Mike on 2 separate repair jobs on two separate vehicles. One was a complicated air conditioning issue on a hot rod Mustang. The easy fix would have been throwing a whole new a/c compressor at the vehicle which would have been a hefty bill. However, Mike wasn't convinced that this was the smartest course of action and that I could avoid a larger bill with a far more simpler fix. He took the time to educate me on how to degrease the compressor's clutch (which he didn't have to do) and self-repair my a/c for about $8. The day before, I was quoted $800 to repair the same issue from a local "reputable" shop. Mike walked away from a big check to do the right thing for a client. Car-2 several months later had a fuel delivery issue. Embarrassingly, I had written down the wrong appointment time and no-showed for my own car repair appointment with Mike. We rescheduled to the next day. I insisted to compensate Mike for the time which he wasted on account of a scheduling mishap on my end. He refused. Not only that but once again helped to take the time to thoroughly diagnose the issue and come up with a cost effective solution for a repair. The big irony on this is that he didn't collect a dime for the effort as he wanted to ensure the solution worked first. I was honestly shocked at the personal integrity and character demonstrated by Mike. The commendable old-school approach is rare these days but certainly the basis for building long-lasting client relationships. I very much endorse Mike and would recommend him to family and friends. He is top notch both in terms of knowledge, expertise but most importantly the manner in which he does business.

He is the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with, and I would not recommend him to anyone.

Turns out that is exactly what the part retails for, checked AutoZone and genuine Chevy parts online. This place doubled down, they reserve the right to mark up the parts as they choose on some margin they weren't able to disclose to me, wouldn't tell me how much they paid for my part, just that they weren't gonna budge on what they charged me. Ladies, make sure you ask ALL the questions, don't let anyone think you don't know what you're talking about before you leave your car with a mechanic shop like this one.

They informed it was just time to recharge the refrigerant and it would be around $430. I said this seemed steep and they said it would be $120 if I did nothing and just picked the car back up for their diagnostic fee, they gave a big pitch about why it cost so much for this type of refrigerant and their work includes a warranty and yada yada. I said fine go ahead. At which point I looked up Autozone's cost for a can of the refrigerant with a gauge and it was $150. So I called them to tell them not to do the work, I would just do it myself. A full 8 minutes had passed and they said "sorry, he's already finished and parking it now." $430 for 8 minutes of work must be nice especially when they don't stand behind it at all. Fast forward to the end of February, it finally had a day warm enough for me to turn my a/c on again and now it's doing the same thing it was when I brought it in. Called them up and they said yes I'm still in the warranty. Take the car in. They determine there is indeed a leak in the valve and argued with me for having the car for a few months since the last time, I informed them that the months between September and February are known as winter and I hadn't been using the A/C. They agreed to honor their service warranty and fix the leak but asked me to pay for the lost refrigerant which is magically now only $108 lol. I was about to resign and agree when Kyle kept on about how the leak wasn't present in September, I told him I think it could have been because that's a big coincidence, at which point he then scoffs and said FINE WE WILL JUST FIX IT THEN. When I went to pick up the car he handed me the card for another mechanic as a way to say he didn't want my business anymore, which was never ever ever in danger anyway. Now HERE I AM JUST A FEW WEEKS LATER and guess what isn't working again? So congratulations on the $430 for a job you clearly did not do. I'll find somewhere else to fix it this time. If this was the type of service I provided in my work I would be ashamed of myself. I cannot recommend against them strongly enough, they should scrape the "Honest" sign off their building and just be Negative One Auto Care because that's what you get with them.

Instead, I got one of the most frustrating and unsafe experiences of my life. They took two days to complete thats totally fine as i don't have any appointment. When I finally picked up the car, I immediately noticed loud noises from all four wheels, and even worse -- the brakes were not working properly. That's right -- the brakes were worse AFTER the repair. Absolutely unacceptable and extremely dangerous. When I returned to address the issue, instead of taking responsibility, the mechanic started blaming "duplicate parts" and claiming it was a different issue -- even though THEY were the ones who installed everything. He became argumentative, rude, and completely unprofessional. The situation got so out of control that I had to involve the police to settle the dispute. Unbelievable. This shop is not just a waste of time and money -- it's a threat to your safety. If your car is important to your daily commute, work, and family -- avoid this place at all costs. **1-Star Review**…read more Very disappointed with the service and professionalism at this shop. I brought my 2017 Audi Q5 here for a coolant pump replacement. Immediately after their repair, my vehicle developed new issues that were not present before. On the day of pickup, I noticed the **check engine light was on**, which was not there before. Initially, they denied that it had anything to do with their work, but later discovered that **a fuel injector had not been secured properly** during their repair. That alone was concerning. After I got home, I found that **my center console buttons had completely lost power**, which had never been an issue before this repair. When I reported this to them, they again denied responsibility and claimed it was an existing issue, even though it happened immediately after their work. In the end, they were **unable to fix the center console problem** and simply told me to take the car to the dealership. After causing these problems, they **did not apologize** and instead stated that I could complain wherever I wanted. This experience caused significant inconvenience, wasted my time, and forced me to spend additional money diagnosing problems that appeared right after their repair. I cannot recommend this shop based on my experience.
