Rooms are fairly standard if you aren't staying in one of the suites in the mansion. The basic rooms are an addition behind the mansion with a view of the pool area. Blankets were a little thin and lacking for a cold night. I was hesitant to turn on the heater because it looked really dusty and would have aggravated my allergies. Walls are thin - we could hear our upstairs neighbors quite loudly. Breakfast was fine. Decent selection of eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, cereal, fruit and yogurt. I was hoping for some southern options like the fried catfish in other photos but they didn't have it when we were there. The dining room is nice and felt elevated with real plates and silverware. There is also a bar in the original carriage house. Overall it's a unique place to stay. The historic mansion is nicely decorated with plenty of charm. I would consider staying here again the next time I'm in the area.

My room was well appointed and it had outlets galore! I never had to look far to plug in my phone or steamer or any other gadget - a rarity in hotels. It was quiet overall but there is construction nearby which could disturb day sleepers. Worried about the most germ filled item in rooms..the remote? No worries, they even provided a disinfectant wipe for it! The staff were upbeat and friendly from the front desk to the Bistro, it was very impressive. The only other issue was the carpet near window was wet so there is leaking somewhere. Other than that they are great and so so close to five stars in my eyes!

The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from the town square, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. For those who prefer to stay in, the Bistro downstairs offers a decent selection of food. While not gourmet, the meals are tasty, filling, and perfect for enjoying in your room or in the bar/bistro area with a bit of camaraderie. My room was quiet overall, aside from some chatter from a group enjoying the firepit area directly below my room. It wasn't loud enough to disturb my rest, and I didn't mind it. I stayed in a King room with a sofa, which was perfect for two people. The room was clean and included standard amenities like a fridge, microwave, desk, TV, ironing board, and more. The bathroom featured a spacious walk-in shower stocked with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay even better!

Sheets looked crisp and white and the bathroom was spotless (thank you for no hair) . The front desk attendant was very pleasant and helpful about the breakfast bar. So far, very nice. The only thing I will say is the room smelled a little musty, I sprayed my Lysol to freshen it up. Maybe the carpets need cleaning/freshening? Also, one other small item, when I went to take a shower, the diverter on the tub spout was really difficult to pull up. Didn't hang around for the breakfast as I needed to get on the road. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful on my checkout.

And lastly, the water pressure was terrible; we could hardly rinse during a shower. We are aware that lady bugs tend to come indoors this time of year, but surely the hotel could do something to reduce their presence. We asked about the low water pressure and were told that there were over 40 guests spending the night! The amount of guests shouldn't affect the water pressure quality! Lastly, the front desk staff when checking out were not very friendly and seemed too busy talking to each other. Not sure we will be staying g at this Hampton Inn again...so disappointed.

So much for a good nights sleep heading into a large family Thanksgiving gathering. The pancake mattresses are by far the worst mattresses I've ever slept on in any Hampton Inn from Pocatello, Idaho to Huntsville, Alabama. 2am I had to drive 14 miles round trip , waking up family to borrow a battery backup for my CPAP. Walmart was closed due to the holiday. Next morning we had power briefly and water pressure is an abstract concept at this hotel. Power went out... again. We left at 10am for the family gathering with wet hair. Speaking to my sister in-law and I was shocked at how recently this hotel had been built. The apartment I rented at age 19 from a slum lord had better electricity and water pressure. Second night it seemed like the electricity problem was resolved. Sleep deprived from night before we managed to string a few hours of sleep. Third night, last morning we were abruptly awoken by the fire alarm in our room. After we finished our heart attacks and peeled ourselves off the ceiling to learn from an employee that a piece of toast burned in the toaster in the continental breakfast area and set off the alarm for everyone... even us on the 4th floor. We took about a decade long hiatus from our then favourite hotel chain, Hampton Inn, once we bought our camper. We recently sold it and this is our first time back to Hampton Inn. It is amazing how far the quality has dropped off. Pancake mattresses, dribbling shower heads, unreliable power and a ridiculously sensitive smoke detector. All in a 5 year-ish old hotel. One star is too generous. Absolutely the worst hotel stay anywhere. Do not stay here.

I was initially told to wait, and when I returned at 4:15 PM, I was informed there had been an issue with another guest and that it would be another 30 minutes. Unfortunately, this delay extended significantly, and I did not receive access to my room until approximately 5:23 PM -- over two hours past the guaranteed check-in time. Traveling with a child made this delay even more difficult, and this level of inconvenience is unacceptable, especially for a stay that was LESS than 24 hours. My interaction with General Manager Nicole Jones was extremely disappointing, unprofessional, and rude!! When I inquired about compensation for the delay and inconvenience, her response came across as dismissive and unprofessional, which only added to the frustration of the situation. To make matters worse, when I finally entered the room, it was not in acceptable condition. The carpet had visible stains, raising concerns about cleanliness and calling into question why the room required such an extended delay! Between the delayed check-in, poor room condition, and lack of appropriate customer service from management, I will NEVER be returning to this location.

Just two days before check-in, we were informed that she tested positive for COVID-19. Out of concern for her health and the safety of our household--including a child still in school and working family members--we made the responsible decision not to travel. We immediately contacted the hotel to explain the situation and request a one-time exception to their 4-day cancellation policy due to this unexpected medical emergency. We even had documentation. Unfortunately, what we were met with was a complete lack of compassion and professionalism. When I spoke with the manager (Nicole), I was told she could not speak with me because there was already a case, and the call was abruptly ended before I could even explain the situation fully. This was not a case of poor planning or last-minute convenience. This was a health-related emergency involving an elderly family member with COVID-19. Policies are important, but so is basic human understanding--especially in situations like this. I am extremely disappointed in how this was handled and hope that someone at a higher level within Hilton will take the time to review this situation and do what is right.
