There are many products that are in date and you can really get a great bargain, and then there are the Eastern European Imported products that are as entertaining as finding a tin in your pantry without a label and daring yourself into eating whatever the contents may be! I particularly like the Prospect Venue as I have found the staff there particularly friendly and always keen for a brief chin wag while scanning your goods....not too much of a chat, just enough to pass the check out time. No one likes a 'Chatty Cathy'! P.S. If you have a sweet tooth like myself you save a bundle if you stock up rather than going to traditional sources!

Anyhow, my point is that the 'use by' or 'best before' is just a date for legal purposes (for many but not all products)...there is a bit of flexibility here. Those of you unfamiliar with the Rite Price chain may wonder why I am bringing this up, so here's the deal: Rite Price is a discount supermarket. Not all, but most of there wares are on the shelves because they are near this use-by or past their best before and are therefore severely discounted. So here's a depressing fact - 20% of all our groceries go to waste...and I recall that when we had the supermarket, a lot of stuff ended up in the bin. It's such a shame to straight out waste food - but you can prevent food being wasted by supermarkets AND save yourself a BUNCH of dolla dolla by having a look at Rite Price! Now they don't have EVERYTHING but if you head here first, you can definitely plan around what you can find and as the previous reviewer wrote, yes there are always plenty of cheap treats for the sweet tooth. Recent bargains - HUGE wheels of cheese - brie, blue and all the fancy ones, still in date for a few days for only $4.50. Perfect for the weekend picnic, yes? Added bonus - they are now open til 7pm on Thursdays for all those who work all day long! - enjoy the cheap life!

I like their huge range of gift boxes, wrappers and greeting cards. Most cards are less than $5 which is a bargain! I've seen many blokes shop here as car accessories, tools and products are way cheaper than most automotive outlets. The four legged friends are not forgotten too. Pet lovers can pick up a bargain as cute toys, bedding and pet accessories are aplenty. Clutter free fans will go crazy over storage boxes. I've found many that would house my kids 1,000 and counting Lego pieces. It truly lives up to its name. I think everyone should head here for a fun browse in and save exercise!

I cook a lot of Asian food, like 90% of my family meals. This place is right around the corner from me, but even not I would still travel to come here. Each week there is always something new and interesting I find and want to try. They have trolleys and baskets. I always, ALWAYS opt for the trolley since making the mistake of carrying a basket once and it was completely overloaded. I always have intentions of coming in 'just for a few things' but it never ends that way. From a huge freezer section to the left full of seafood, dumplings and vegan meat alternatives to name a few. A cool open fridge section with a huge variety of drinks, kimchi, tofu and vegetables. I could go on and on about the copious amounts of sauces, condiments, dried herbs, tinned foods, but you really need to go and see for yourself. What I love most is that they don't just stock one asian cuisine. I especially love the Indonesian and Japanese sections. There is also a butcher in the back. I'd love to buy organic but that's a pipeline dream for now. The chicken, beef and pork here is of great quality and fantastically priced. I'm talking under $10/kg for nearly every cut of meat. I make super savings by buying majority of my meats here. The only thing they don't stock is lamb and not a huge range of beef. So my fellow Yelp-tastic peeps. I've imported a few from Japan over the years, mostly for obscure things like Samurai Pizza Cats, then I discovered this place. While there are no Pizza Cats here (those models have long been out of production, I just pick them up on Japanese auction sites) they have an impressive selection of models. From tanks to anime it's all here in its box ready for you to build. They supply everything, from glue to paint and can also offer advice. They also supply Scalextric (or other racing set) parts, and have a nice model train set on display. I always wanted a model train set as a kid, and envisioned something along the lines of what they have here. Looking back, what I wanted was never achievable, which may be why model trains tend to be the hobby of older people. There's a lot to do here, and a lot to keep you busy. The prices are reasonable, maybe a little bit less than some other places I know of that sell models. If you walk through the doors of Hobby Habit don't expect to leave empty handed.

They're nicely spaced out as well, rather than being all on top of each other. A lot of shoe stores are small with shoes piled on top of each other. If you find something you like and then decide to go back to it later you might forget where it is. Well, it happens to me anyway... I admit I can be scatterbrained. Anyway, that's never been an issue for me here. The prices aren't too bad either. I've seen cheaper shoes don't get me wrong, but I've seen a lot more expensive too. Footwear Warehouse offer decent prices, and you can't go too far wrong if you pay them a visit. Shoes are a necessity after all...

As if it doesn't already have enough stuff, somehow there's always more room available for Xmas decorations of all sorts. I always manage to find something to buy in here whether it's a microfibre cloth, wrapping paper, a screw driver and anything else I don't want to pay full price for at the supermarket. Le Cheap also sells shopping trolleys in funky colours at much cheaper prices than buying them at the central market! Basically, if you're not averse to buying from cheap shops there are real bargains to be had, plus they have come a long way to being accepted into main stream shopping. Remember that buying from a name brand shop doesn't mean it isn't going to break as soon as you use it.

Le Cheap is a bargain bits and pieces store in the same category as cheap as chips and the reject…read moreshop. I always seem to be impressed with Le Cheap and their variety. They have loads of stuff from kitchen and home wares, to toys, books, and everything else you'd expect in such a store. There are a couple of stores in Adelaide, and the staff are helpful in that if there is something you want that they don't have they'll ring the other store to see if they have it.

(Plus it's right next to Cheap as Chips so you can stock up on junk food and tinned soup too) You will also find some regular "going out in public" kinds of clothes here too. All of it tends to be on the cheaper end of the scale and there are plenty of wardrobe basics such as leggings, track pants, plain socks and T-shirts. But you can also find some really cool stuff that you just wouldn't see anywhere else. As the name suggests, this is not high fashion, and the store reflects that. The venue is underground and very little has been done in the way of decorating. It is not a place for the claustrophobic shopper. However, prices are cheap, there is a lot to choose from and the owners have never judged me for buying 16 pairs of bed socks at once.

The store is fairly big with lots and lots of toys to choose from! If you have kids you should be shopping at Toyworld. If you want kids you should be looking at Toyworld because it'll make you want kids as soon as possible. If for no reason other than to buy all the toys you possibly can!
