Cheap shots does not refer to the amount you pay, but the quality you get. Photographer showed up late and we had to wait around while while she prepped. She never set up the shot.(Apparently if she says "if you can't see me, then I can't see you", but you can see her she doesn't have to tell you she can't see you) Although she took plenty of pictures, but none of the whole family group pictures are usable. When we received the pictures, heads were cut off, more than one or two eyes are closed, edged of backdrop are shown, and people were running into the pictures. The subjects are so close to the edge that you couldn't frame them and the was lighting is so harsh. When asked about the lack of quality she said they were beautiful and we shouldn't judge the unedited ones. We were sent 15 edited pictures that didn't even include all the individual families. If you are not getting large family photos and are able to edit and crop yourself, then CheapShots could be a doable option. As per their request only the "edited" one are judgeable. Would NOT recommend. Wife had scheduled a family photo shoot weeks ago, and the photographer never showed up. They told her they couldn't give her a refund. They took reservation money, and we had to prepay for the photos. I had to get off work early, which cost me money and time off. She spent a lot of time getting 3 little girls dressed and their hair done. Very unprofessional, they don't deserve your business. read more

If I could re-do the photos, I would use a different company. We used Cheapshots for our wedding. We were referred by a friend of the owner. The photos are awful! We don't even have one with the wedding party where everyone is looking at the camera and standing up straight. She didn't say a WORD to hardly anyone. My 10 year old could have done a better job. Don't waste your time and $$. The photog had no original ideas, didn't care about details or the quality of the pictures and quite frankly didn't even seem to care to be there. Worst photographers I've ever worked with. We hired them for my daughter's wedding in August and we would have been better off asking the neighbor who's 10!! We paid a lot more than needed just so that the pictures and videos would come out great and I was willing to do that to avoid the extra stress of handling that ourselves and so my wife could rest easy knowing we paid for experienced pros that would take charge and do a good job while we just enjoyed the moment. Boy did Amanda and Kelsey fool us!!The videographer was late and completely missed my daughter and new husband walking out of the temple, he showed up 45 minutes late. The photographer wasn't Amanda or Kelsey, who we'd paid for, but instead a woman who had no idea she was looking for our wedding party. The poor lady was walking around asking if any of the groups were expecting a photographer. The owners didn't even give her our name! And the photographer apologized ahead of time and told us it was her first day on the job. Unfortunately the photos were incredibly poor quality. The whole thing felt like a scam. We couldn't get a hold of the owners, Amanda and Keksey, the photographer she sent to take her place couldn't get a hold of her, the extra we paid for "edited" photos was basically for turning a few black and white! Really? I can change that stupid setting on my phone and do it myself for free! She tried to charge us extra, after the fact, for a thumb drive with the photos, she tried to charge extra again to meet us at a place to hand the drive off instead of just mailing it and then she canceled last second when we were already at the meeting spot. For the outrageous price we paid we should have at least gotten a few good pics and reasonable communication. I wouldn't hire these people again if they paid me for the honor of taking our pictures!!!. read more

I was really looking forward to getting our family pictures back and ended up so disappointed. Our photographer took over 500 pictures and there were about ten that were decent - and I wish that was an exaggeration. She did almost no photo directing and it showed. Unfortunately they look very amateur and there are only two that are quality enough to display. It was a huge disappointment and I can not recommend them to anyone. We did a ten minute session last year with another photographer and she got WAY more usable shots than this photographer did in an hour. I wish I had been one of those people who had a great experience with them - I've never had a bad experience with family pictures before this. I'd stick with FotoFly if you are looking for semi-decent, cheap pictures. I'd love a re-do of these. read more

Disappointed! I would suggest you go elsewhere if you are paying for professional photo's and expect to see a professional outcome. It is really sad because the facility is beautiful! So many great things to offer, but if you don't have a photo editor in the family who can organize, make kids smile, fix lighting, open eyes and smiles, etc. you will NOT be satisfied. When you have paid an extra $25 for edited pictures in a week, but get professional edits where the camera is held tilted, heads are cut off, eyes are closed, positioning has no rhyme or reason and looks off its pretty amateur. When our concerns were brought up with the company they said "Unfortunately, after looking at the pictures they meet Cheapshots guidelines." So Cheapshots thinks it's not a problem to cut off heads and not organize families. After I brought up the problem and went back into the link where he had edited them some of these issues were fixed. If I hadn't said anything I don't believe that they would have taken responsibility. Still lots of bad quality pictures taken and almost no effort to help the little kids look at the camera or smile. read more

I am so disappointed with this company. I hired them to do my wedding photos after my courthouse ceremony. It was just us and our parents a couple friends, how difficult could taking photos of us be?! Well apparently Torsten, who has been taking photos for 10+ years, couldn't figure out how to focus in on any of our faces for 90% of the pictures. There's even photos where my face is out of focus and my husbands is in focus. There are photos where children are in the background that weren't apart of our party! The "editing" is shit. I called and they offered me a reshoot, but every time I call to talk to the manager about booking it she's busy and I don't get a call back. I've left FIVE messages with Bailey for the manager to call me back! Now at this point I want my money back!!!! I called and asked for the owner to get in touch with me last week and NOTHING! I now will have to find someone else to reshoot my wedding photos and have to pay to get my hair/nails/ make up done AGAIN! This is the WORST business ! I just don't think any of it is right. The lack of professionalism and it's been 6 months that I've been trying to resolve this . This wasn't just any ol photoshoot. These were my wedding day photos and they are ruined and I trusted this company. It just makes me super sad. I'm going to report them to the better business bureau. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else where they will at least pretend to care about you and give you the proper respect you deserve. read more

We usually get our family pictures taken at a really great place in draper but we decided to try out CheapShots to get some variety in our backdrops. Worst decision ever. The studio was nice enough but that's it. While trying to make my kids smile our photographer did some weird thing which scared my kids for the rest of the session. He took hundreds of photos but none of them are even usable. Some have his finger in the way, others have our heads cut off, but most are either blurry or out of focus. ALL of the pictures are very washed out. When we brought this to the manager's attention, she said that she would take a look at the photos and see if they were up to CheapShot's standards and call us back. She never called. Because we prepaid for the session we were unable to get our money back. I took a full day off of work, got the kids ready, and paid for a photography session but in return all I got was some pictures that I wouldn't even put on my wall. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I wish we hadn't gone here. read more

The photographer was an hour late. The studio was locked up and no one had a key. Never again. It was a family reunion picture. We had 5 kids all dressed up and were not able to get into the studio. By the time the photographer showed up with a key, all the adults were melting from the heat and the kids were all messed up. I will not ever be returning to this place again. My first appointment with her was for the Cutest Kid contest, and when the contest was up contestants were not even notified. this should have been my first sign that things were not exactly "updated" around her. I made the mistake of scheduling a family shoot in hopes of having a fun, quick way to take the photos to announce my pregnancy, but this turned out to be a vile mistake. First of all, the schedule *requires* that you book a card on file, otherwise you cannot book. For hotels and like reservations, I tend to use a secondary card with little money on it so as to avoid premature charges. Mistake: if you insist on booking here, know this: no matter how many pages say you won't be charged until the appointment, it's lying. You'll be charged immediately, and even if you have overdraft protection, it doesn't matter because it will be charged as a recurring payment. Huge red flag. There is a $25 fee to cancel your appointment, and they will not compensate you for your overdraft charges. Instead, I was told: "There are several places where it says your card will be charged right away" and proceeded to send me shots of "Santa Minis" where it did say this. However, I'd had the mind to take screenshots beforehand, and I took one of every single page I saw from start to finish of the process. On family shots, it will not tell you it will charge right away, so I could not have known this: I suspect the owner is aware, as this would be the reason she sent me "Santa Mini" shots, even though this was not what was scheduled. Furthermore, upon returning to the final payment page, it used to say "Due now: $0.00 Due Later: $99.00" and just under this "Remaining balance will be due at the time of your appointment." Now it says that it's due right away (not that this matters to me, I have a screenshot of both.) Nope, nope, nope. I don't deal with sneaky backpay payments and furthermore I'm not sure how charging this as a "recurring payment" on my bank is legal. Very sketchy place, long wait times if you do get to your appointment, will not take responsibility for charging when they should not have, charges $25 if you want to cancel an appointment, and I assure you, that's not worth it. I recommend going to a regular photographer for family photos: no credit card required to hold, no sneaky charges, you get to choose your location. As she refuses to refund the overdraft even though I had absolutely no reason to believe I'd be charged right away, I find her practice for small business very, very unprofessional. NEVER EVER USE CheapShots! Photography They are so underhanded and dishonest it isn't even funny. When I was thinking of using them based off a friends experience and review I read there website and the photos I saw, I was going to use Cheapshots Photography. Well my family will no longer even consider using them after hearing what happened to them and seeing first hand the most horrible photos ever taken. We had even thought about giving the company the benefit of the doubt and trying there services even after the horror story and seeing how badly there photos turned out but when we went back to there website to look at our options we noticed that our friends and families review was no longer there website. Another dishonest thing your company does, you only put the positive reviews and if you don't like the review or someone has a bad experience you don't put it on your website. I can't believe a company could behave like this. My very large family will be finding a far better photography company after seeing this and hearing from not just one friend, but several as well as our own family how they have been treated, lied to, refused refunds for services that can't be used. Not to mention when I called to research the company after being referred to them, I have never been talked to so rudely by a staff member. It is apparent that they do not stand behind the quality of there photos or making sure the customer is happy and that you don't guarantee your photos either and offer refunds or re-takes for very unhappy customers and substandard pictures. Not to mention having your staff and manager as well refuse to give you the contact information for the OWNER of the company is completely bad business all the way around. read more

I took my 6 month old for a mini session (30 min). The photographer was very personable, creative with props, backgrounds, and lighting, and efficient. In that short amount of time I had 10 or more photos that I absolutely loved! My session started right on time and was perfect for my happy baby. I will definitely be going back! read more

So disappointed with our interior photo shoot. Only a plain white wall for backdrop of groups larger than 3-4 people. Boring!! Plus all our shadows showed up on the white wall. Photographer not experiences with lighting as those of us with glasses had "eyeware glare" and since several of us wear glasses all pictures with one or more of us were ruined. Don't get to pick which pictures get edited and very few get edited. Customer service was apologetic and tried to super edit one pose but still not a very good picture. Will definitely use someone else next time all of our family is able to get together. read more

I scheduled a family shoot about two months in advance and was asked to reschedule three times which was frustrating with a full schedule and large family. Every time I was asked to reschedule it was due to weddings. I thought it was unfair that even though I had scheduled early, I was asked to change my appointment multiple times - I can only assume because weddings are more money for the business. The day of our shoot, I hadn't received a phone call or text verifying we were still on about two hours before so I texted and then the photographer finally texted back. It just seemed last minute and unprofessional. I didn't want to worry about chasing them down when I had enough to worry about getting kids ready for the pics. Our photographer was nice but was inexperienced at least it seemed as all the poses looked very off balanced and odd. The lighting in most of the pictures was bad, in some there are light rays and circles on family members, glowing ears due to the sun behind and tall grass covering most of some family members. Some pictures she took with us looking directly into the sun... At the end of the shoot, I was told I could not see any of the images but had to pick 23 images I wanted edited ... kinda hard when I can't see any images! All in all, I think the name pretty much sums up what you're going to get. Cheap experience and photos. I even still used them after a family member had a bad experience, giving them another shot but was very much disappointed. I'd rather pay a little more and have an experienced photographer and more professional experience. read more

I will NEVER do business or recommend this place to ANYONE! I hired CheapShots! Photography during the spring of last year to take pictures for my wedding at the end of July. I paid the full amount upfront and in advance, we even had a signed contract! Guess what happened? THEY DID NOT SHOW UP TO MY WEDDING AT THE LA CAILLE IN SLC! Because of this so-called "company," I have NO pictures of my Father and I walking down the aisle, no pictures of me and my Maid of Honor, no pictures of the wedding ceremony, and absolutely nothing for the bouquet toss and cake cutting. I am still HEARTBROKEN and UPSET to this day about their LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND LACK OF ORGANIZATION. I will NEVER be able to go back in time and redo my wedding with a different, more respectful photography company. What did they do to make amends? They sent me my refund. They also offered to shoot wedding pictures with our families AFTER THE FACT in wedding attire! Sorry, but my family lives OVERSEAS and there was NO chance of doing that. Besides, who the heck wants to take pictures and PRETEND like it's their wedding day? SIGNED CONTRACTS DO NOT MEAN A THING to CHEAP!SHOTS, THEY STILL DIDN'T SHOW for my wedding even though everything was done and signed. My husband and I are VERY upset with the lack of care and concern this company has provided us with. NO ONE has followed up, NO ONE has tried to make real amends.
