I found myself with some people in Chilton County today. Mr. Dawson had a money order made out to him from one our very reputable local banks here in Marion. We were about to pay a bond to the Chilton County Circuit Clerk's office. The first place we went would not take the money order saying it was like a two-party check and they did not take two-party checks. They told him to go cash it at one of the banks there in Clanton and they referred us to a Region's and a BB&T. Neither one of those banks would cash an official bank Money Order because Mr. Dawson did not have an account at neither bank. The BB&T bank referred us to Wal-Mart and we thought that was a sure thing considering Mr. Dawson. has a Wal-Mart credit card. Wal-Mart told him they only cash payroll checks. On our way out to Wal-Mart we passed by this Check 'n Go that had a banner out front saying "We cash ALL checks." God led my eyes there I guess and I told Mr. Dawson to try there. It took a while 35-40 minutes but he GOT THE money order cashed minus a $50 fee. Well, it would have cost about that much in gasoline for him to drive ALL the way back to Marion to cash it and ALL the way back to Clanton. This place was a life saver and a Godsend. Thank You Check 'n Go you did what NO BANK could do. I will be reviewing Region's pretty soon and it will not be a pretty picture. They have already made me mad before in the past. read more
