I've never been a huge fan of Cheddars. They did the Olive Garden thing, make really good Biscuits or Garlic Bread or Croissants and they will come. Just like Olive Garden the food is Meh, at best. One exception for me is the Chicken Pot Pie, it's pretty good. However, KFC has a decent one as well, so what am I really saying. For me , Cheddars is overrated and boring. No variety on the menu, it's mostly chicken , cooked 10 different ways.I don't know how they got so popular. I guess it's the prices. Food is pretty cheap here. Today Saturday July 6 the bartender was very rude calling us f**king b*tches. About her tip. A tip is an optional thing based of service. If my drink was empty the whole time I will not be leaving a tip. Service was really bad and will not be coming to this location. 1:00 on a Tuesday and no wait to be seated. Friendly greeting at check-in. Cody is waiter. Restaurant is clean, they try to seat everyone apart as possible, and staff is masked. Food came out promptly, and both chicken entrees were hot. Cody kept our water glasses full, and is a very pleasant fellow. Husband ordered chicken tender plate, French fries, red beans and rice. I ordered regular size chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and broccoli casserole. Both chicken entrees were enjoyable. The breast meat was moist, and the breading was crisp. I think the chicken breast was more flavorful than the tenders. Both breading were very light. We both were disappointed in the sides. The broccoli casserole was very cheesy, broccoli was a little overcooked, and was served barely warm. Neither of us enjoyed the beans and rice because we didn't care for the slightly smoky flavor of the meat, and there was a scant bean to rice ratio. Mashed potatoes were passable. We went to dinner there last night. Crowded but got seated fast and pleasantly. Waitress Julissa appeared quickly. Ordered drinks. While we waited she delivered two warm, fresh croissants. Very nice way to start dinner. One Blue Moon and one Sangria. Both came quickly and were very good. Ordered our entrees. Wasn't very long when our waitress delivered an excellent, generous, fresh, house salad. My wife and I were more than impressed up to this point. 10 minutes later out came the entrees: One chicken pot pie and one order of the fried shrimp platter. The chicken pot pie was a disaster. Two teaspoons of chicken (maybe), one less-than-a- teaspoon of carrots, flecks of something green - all encased in a flour -thickened paste. The crust was overcooked and so became a kind of flakey powder when broken up by my spoon. I would extimate that the paste concoction was more than 90% of the pie. My wife's plate was a mixed bag. The coleslaw was homemade, fresh and overall excellent. The shrimp had a thick batter but were somehow wet and recently thawed out(?) inside. I'm guessing. The french fries were dried out and tasteless. Not a little dried out. VERY dry. I was hungry when it was over. Had the carrot cake between us. That was quite good. Cheddars' food is always good comfort food. The place was clean, COVID clean. The thing that impressed our group the most, was our waiter Juan! I'm old, and I've never seen a waiter that good! When you come to this Cheddars, ask for Juan! The best patter, and schtick I've ever seen. I usually am not fond of that, but this time it was like dinner theater. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience here. I tried to order the coconut shrimp, but they were apparently out of it so I had to choose something else. Two of us ordered steaks and we asked them to be cooked "medium." They both came out well done. The server said they would get new steaks on the grill ASAP for us. It took quite a while for new steaks to arrive, and while the inside was cooked properly the second time, they were very charred on the outside and literally doused in pepper. So much so that I only had two bites of mine. On top of the bad steak experience, we were overcharged for two sides which we had to ask to be removed from the bill, and the server was not good about keeping our drinks refilled. And they have Diet Dr Pepper! That's hard to find in restaurants ( at least from my experience). We ordered wings, shrimp blanket, papaya salad, crab fried rice and shrimp and chicken fried rice to go. We also had beer and wine. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Came here for dinner with my family one night and my fiancé and I both needed a water refill, and after never receiving one we asked our server. The server came back with ONE glass of water (for us to share??) 10 minutes after we had asked. I also asked for chicken fried steak but we given chicken fried chicken- no biggie but not what I had ordered. When we first got into the restaurant we waited up in the front for a hostess to seat us for 10-15 minutes. No one bothered to help us. All I have to say is, If you order for curb side you better check your order before you pull away. I have been shorted other times before now But this time it pissed me off. I had three entrees 2 with salads. We didn't receive our salads. So now I have salmon with rice with nothing else. My wife has the filet with broccoli and no salad. I called and he asked if I wanted to drive by to the restaurant for my two salads. It's cost me more full than the price of 2 salads. This may be the last time I trade with these people. I love this place! The complimentary croissants are so perfectly warm, flaky, and sweet, and the food is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming, dimmed lighting, and family-friendly. It did take about an hour for our food to be served, which seemed unusually long, but I am guessing the reason for that is that it was a Friday and it did look pretty busy. The absolute worse service ever. First off when we walked in to a half empty restaurant they said it would be a 20 minute wait so we went to the bar after they took our number to text us. Not only did 3 couples behind us get seated we had to go remind them we were waiting. The manager came and got us after my husband complained. Now she seats us in the back by the kitchen and it was another 20 minutes with no acknowledgement we were seated my husband had to again go to find manager to get a server. I went to this location on 12-30-2021. I had been a few times prior and had always been impressed by the food, but not so much the service. On prior visits, it seemed as though my party was ignored in favor of larger groups (with larger tabs). This occasion was quite the opposite. Our server, Steve, was spectacular. Our drinks were attended to promptly and we were never left clueless as to the status of our orders. He even knocked off the extra honey butter croissants and one of the beverages off our tab. We ate at the Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen in Conroe for the first time today. We were promptly seated and Bryce, our server, took our drink order and gave us some very tasty croissants. We ordered the 14 oz. ribeye steak and the chicken fried chicken entrees along with a couple of beers. I would have liked a larger beer selection but what they had available was good and very cold. The kitchen staff apparently know what they are doing because both entrees were cooked perfectly. I was very impressed with the steak because it tasted better than steaks I normally pay $10.00 to $15.00 more for from a steakhouse. The chicken fried chicken had a really light batter but with lots of flavor and the country style gravy had just the right consistency and amount of pepper in it. The broccoli cheese casserole was exceptional and our favorite of the side dishes. The only item we found disappointing were the southern green beans. I don't give out a lot of five star reviews but I am giving one to this location. The dining area was clean and aesthetically pleasing. The menu was the right size and had a good variety of food. The wait staff were attentive and professional. Lastly, the food was fantastic especially for how reasonably priced it was. read more

I've been twice. First week of opening for my birthday and a few days ago. Nice because the restaurant is new inside. A bit cluttered with the greeting staff but generally friendly and helpful. Menu seems limited. There should be at least one shrimp entree. First visit my steak was not fully cooked as requested. Sides portions are too small. The food does come out in a fair time and is hot. I do not like servers that put lemons in your water... please put it on the side. Most restaurants don't wash them thoroughly and also don't like rind taste in my water when I do use lemons. The croissants don't taste like they used to but appreciate they're complimentary. Nothing special here and I'll probably only visit before dinner hours to avoid crowds..... if I happen to be in the area. But I wouldn't purposely make the 30 minute drive to eat here. read more

Not up to Cheddar's standards. Bathroom was very bad. Sticky floor. Urinal wouldn't flush. Toilet paper dispensers were destroyed in both bathrooms. Toilet leaked from the handle when you flushed it. Counter top had standing water and soap residue. Waitress messed up my drink order twice. Double charged our friends for two meals. The table biller machine wouldn't print. The staff and customers at the bar were so loud, we couldn't talk to each other. At least the food met out expectations. read more
