Gave the new location a few weeks before going to visit. They were super busy as it seemed that everyone had the same idea about waiting a few weeks. The staff was really nice. Took 30 minutes to get seated which wasn't bad. We decided on what to order and it took an hour to come out. I know that the food not being ready in a timely manner was not the waiters fault. When we did get our food it was as expected. We will wait a while before going back to let them work out the kinks. I have always enjoyed going to other cheddars locations in the past and will enjoy this one once they really get it down and the employees are a little more seasoned. read more

Now I know why they only have 2.5 stars. The food is pretty good if you can get it served hot. An hour and a half into the visit and we finally get the onion rings we had ordered an hour and twenty minutes back. Naturally they were stone cold. I sent them back and thought about waiting for some hot ones. 15 minutes later still nothing so we decided to go. The bartender was actually pretty nice and did fine. I assume the kitchen staff is to blame here or most likely management for not regularly checking on the kitchen. Speaking of management, the young man was very rude and obnoxious. After a terrible conversation with him we paid for our drinks and left. He said he did us a favor by not charging us for the Onion Rings, lol. Mr. Manager, you won't have to do us any more favors. I enjoy Cheddars but this location just has terrible service. Went here on a Friday and it took over 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order once seated. It took another 30 minutes just to get our drinks from the bar...one of them was a bottled beer. One of our water glasses had stuff floating in it and when we requested more water, another long wait. The food was good, but the service was awful. We barely saw our waitress the whole time we were there. Would not recommend. read more

My husband I went to this restaurant and sat in the bar area. We were not acknowledged at all even though several servers that passed by us. We waited 5 minutes before got up and left. When I told the hostess that we were leaving because we were never acknowledged she told us "I am sorry have a good night". She didn't seemed concerned at all. Where exactly do I start? I'll start from the initial walk in! We walk in and the host sits us at a table in the BACK of the bar area. Get to the table, and the floor is not only dirty, but slippery! At first, I wasn't going to say anything, I just grabbed the broom that was near by and swept (I NEED MY CHECK BTW). The waitress laughed when she saw me sweeping, and proceeds to say, " I'm sorry I didn't mean to laugh, but I was about to sweep that table." At this point you would think she would go ahead and take the broom and sweep for me right? Noooooo, instead she turned around a went to the micros!!!! Whereeee do they do that at? CHEDDARS! (I STILL NEED COMPENSATION FOR THE MINS WORKED) . I sit down, not wanting to make a fuss, but the floor is so slippery that my feet keep gliding. I head to the host stand and ask for a new table. Now, I wanna give the benefit of the doubt and say she at us in the back of restaurant (again) because all other sections are closed. Not just because all other colored people were back there as well. About 5 waiters walk past us, and it takes our waitress about 10 mins to even grab a drink order! She had a total of 4 tables, three of which were already sat, why it took her 10 years the world will never know. However, she was friendly, but the service sucked. It took us 5 mins to get the drinks. I asked for pepper, and she said "it's pepper night, and that's why they aren't on the table." I understand, but I know you have packaged Togo pepper or something! Our app arrives, it's cold, but I was hungry and we came 20 mins to eat! Get the food, and the presentation was HORRIBLE! It tasted very microwaved. I know she let it sit in the window for at least a couple mins. Sent the sides back because they were cold. The CFC was still hot only because of the gravy keeping the eat inside the chicken. Now Shawn, our waitress, only checked on us 1 time when we got our food. We have dined at this location of Cheddars five times since it opened. The first visit was not good. The booth did not have the seats attached all the way. The server did not get our order right and it took forever to get the food out. The waiter ignored us but paid lots of attention to the cute girls at the next table. Understandable, right? but he needs to rein in the hormones if he really wants to be a good waiter. We returned for a second visit because our friends asked to go there. This time I ordered the chicken/pecan salad instead of the very average chicken pot pie from my first visit. I liked the salad a lot and loved the croissants. I bought extra croissants so everyone could have some, they were so good and so reasonably priced. The meal still took a long time to get to us. The third through fifth visits were better each time. We tend to arrive before 5:00 so didn't have to wait more than five minutes for seating. The food came out faster but the third visit the waiter forgot the croissants for our salad and the clean fork for my friend. It was our same mediocre waiter from visit one. We have ordered the onion rings three times now. This last time they were over salted and we won't get them again. In fact, everything we ordered on Saturday July 22, 2017, was too salty. I would return. The menu is varied enough to find something for everyone. I'd even go just to buy croissants for a take out order. One thing was curious: our last visit was just the two of us and there was a large crowd in the waiting area. We got seated immediately at a four person booth! Maybe all those people waiting were in large groups. This means just because you see a lot of people waiting, go ahead and try it - you might be seated right away. read more

My daughter's cheer team had their dinner at this location tonight. I'm wondering if the food was rushed because it was such a large group. On our way home, my daughter starting feeling ill and vomited all over the back of my car. I found out that another girl in the group was also vomiting and three other girls were feeling nauseous. I called the manager to inform him and he told me how they temp check all of the food and then gave me a lesson on food illness incubation period and said that this was too soon. I had good experiences at this restaurant since it opened until today. I called the restaurant on July 20th to let them know I would be bringing a large party (21 people) in on Sat. 21st to celebrate my son's birthday. I spoke to a manager who explained to me that they could not make a reservation, which I understood. I asked about their peak times and he explained that the day slows down a little from 2-4, but Saturdays could be unpredictable. I thanked him and we hung up. Our group decided to meet for dinner at 5, arriving at the restaurant at 430. I got to the restaurant at 430 and asked for a table for 21. The hostess advised me that she would have to seat my group in back-to-back booths because they would not have a table ready for a group my size. I told her I didn't mind waiting because my entire party had not yet arrived. She said that she did not think that we would be able to sit together at all and that they would have to seat us in tables "all around the restaurant". I again reiterated that we were prepared to wait because I knew they could not take a reservation. I asked if they could just push some tables together for us. She gave me a pager and I guess also paged the manager to the front. The manager comes out to talk to me about the size of my party. He reiterated what the hostess told me and that's when I explained to him that I called the day before and was not advised that seating a group my size together would be impossible in their restaurant. He told me that he remembers speaking with me the day before and that the largest group he can accommodate at one table is for 8 people and that he could not rearrange the tables because they are bolted down to the floor. I told him he never mentioned that information on the call we had the day before. If he said that to me, I would have chosen a different restaurant. He said that he did explain that on the phone and there was nothing he could do. I am completely dissatisfied with this experience and the conversation I had with the manager just lead me to believe that either he was calling me a liar about the phone call or he was completely lying to me about what he said on the call or their ability to take care of me and my dinner party. Either way, it will be extremely difficult for me to ever step foot in that restaurant again. I left feeling very angry and let down and not how I wanted to celebrate my son's birthday. I definitely could not recommend this restaurant to anyone choosing to have a group meet for dinner unless you want to all sit separately. Who would agree to do that? read more

Me and the Mrs.visited about 6:30 pm on 3/7/2017. This is a new Cheddar's that has only been open a couple weeks. The staff was all very neat and uniformed. There were several still in training, so there was a lot of wait staff hustling about. I know there were two floor managers just in our area. I was surprised how busy they were this early in the day. By the time we left, the lobby was full and standing room only. The food was what you expect from these types of restaurants. We ordered an appetizer and an entre. We tried the sampler appetizer with the chicken tenders, potato skins and cheese chunks. Our entre was the club sandwich. The appetizer was hot and the club was cool as it should be. They did as we asked and brought all the food at the same time for us to share. The prices were about what you would expect for this type of restaurant. This is comparable with Chili's, Applebee's and such. We will be returning, we enjoyed it. read more

We were in town for a tournament and love to eat at a Cheddars. Looked up the N 820 Loop location and decided to give it a try. It was Saturday evening and the place was hopping but we were seated right away. Service was immediate. George was a very good waiter. Food was out quick. Manager Krause was front-present and approaching tables and inquiring about satisfaction. He was very nice and spent a few minutes conversing with us. We ordered the sirloin steak. Horrible service!! Where I grew up cheddars was awesome. We came to this one expecting it to be just as good, but it was horrible! They were yelling at each other in the kitchen. The staff was obviously talking about customers in view of other customers. The waitress took forever to get our drink order. Then we ordered an appetizer and never received our extra sauce we requested. Our drinks were never refilled, my husband never got his salad, and the waitress complained because she had "too many tables." You don't complain to customers about your job. That's not in the customer's control. And it had looked like when we sat down that our waitress was already getting talked to by the manager about something. We were patient for a while, but it finally got ridiculous. We paid for our appetizer and left. I saw the horrible reviews before we went, but wanted to give it a chance anyways. What a let down. It started with no bread with or before meals, they do not honor Seniors or Military Vets with discounts, the 20 oz Bourbon ribeye I ordered medium well was brought out bleeding, hornless and its butt wiped but that is about all; the steak was full of gristle and after sending it back to be heated to proper temperature was not fit to eat. Me and a friend decided to sit at the bar since that is usually where we get the best service at restaurants. Ordered 2 non alcoholic beverages while we browse the menu and the waitress leaves the bar. She was gonna for at least 15 minutes. The whole time we were sitting there waiting to order. She finally comes out of nowhere and takes our drink order and then tries to walk away, so I stop her and we order food. She NEVER made our drinks. She FINALLY comes out after another ten minutes with our appetizer, we still don't have our alcoholic beverages. She sets our food down and says "sorry I walked away and forgot to make your drinks, it's just been one of those days." Are you kidding? It's a Wednesday, and it's dead. How could it have possibly been one of those days? She finally makes our drinks, and disappears again. Oh wait, no. She is standing by the beverage station talking on the phone in full view of the customers she ignored for half an hour. And that's what she does all night. Texts behind the bar right in front of us. Talks ON HER CELL PHONE behind the bar right in front of us. Never refills our waters, she's too busy telling the person on the other end to eat and go to sleep so they can "be ready for cross country tomorrow". Been a fan of cheddars for years so I was thrilled when I saw this one being built. What a horrible disappointment. Ordered to-go, horrible customer service from the get go. Not to mention I waited on hold ten or so minutes to even place the order. Chicken pot pie, spasagna and extra croissants. Croissants were burnt, spasagna was such a small amount compared to other locations and burnt as well,garlic bread was pure mush. Chicken pot pie had no flavor and was packaged horribly which caused it to go everywhere in the car. Literally the whole meal was bad. Excellent service! Regular checking up by our waiter, refills often, the perfect place to come for my sister birthday. I remember ordering the spinach dip appetizer (yum!) and the maple bacon chicken sandwich which was just scrumptious. The bacon was sticky and I just loved it. Would go there again! The last time I ordered take out and it looked like my broccoli & cheese casserole was the last corner of the pan that had been sitting for hours and it was extremely small in portion. Oh boy. I have been waiting to write this for weeks as I knew if I attempted it soon after our "visit" to your establishment, I would have sounded like a raving maniac. Since your new restaurant on 820 opened in the Lake Worth area we thought we would give it a try. We had been given a gift card and although we were not starved, reviewing your menu on line, knew you had a nice selection of appetizers. We entered the restaurant about 4:30 PM on a Friday evening and were seated in an area that seemed "isolated" (behind a half wall) although the establishment was not at all busy at this time. We were greeted by about six young people (workers) milling about in the entry and showed to our table, again behind the half wall and excruciating small. So much for my husband 's feet fitting comfortably underneath. We each ordered iced teas and after perusing the menu decided we would share the nachos. Well, that didn't go so great! How do you mess up nachos-let them sit in the serving window until the cheese is cold eh? I asked our server if they could replace them since they were cold and received visit from the floor manager I assume. Wow! That was suppose to be intimidating maybe. Anyway, we explained our dilemma and she assured us she would replace it with a fresh order. That was the second fiasco. Again the cheese was cold and even the plate was cold enough to be carried to our table on the waiters arm. That was it. We took maybe two bites each, asked for and paid our bill (full price I might add) and left.
