We've been working in Albany for a few days and love cheddars menu. The service has gotten much better since we were last there. We sat in the middle and watched the host actually interact with people and our server Emory was PHENOMENAL. BUT as we were leaving we noticed a young man walking around playing in his hair. Then he sat at a big table in the corner and there was a stack of napkins at the table he sat at. I assume he was doing silverware. We almost got grossed out because he was pulling and playing in his hair and started scratching his head. This is a hygiene issue. He looks like he needs his job so maybe he needs to get it done or wear a cap. I can imagine how much hair falls in food or if he has dandruff its all over the forks. read more

We watched the waitress deliver food with her ponytail in the tray of food. Our table didn't receive all of the food at once and a couple of orders never came. This Cheddar's was so underwhelming in so many ways. The staff are all teenagers so of course they act like teenagers. No customer service at all No sense of urgency And an IDGAF attitude The restaurant was extremely dirty, Like I swear I wanted to get up and leave. Food all over the floor like they had been feeding animals. Our booth was so damn nasty we had to be seated somewhere else. They were out of multiple food items. Which hey it happens, but how about let guest know this before hand so A. They can decide if they still want to eat there or not and B. Before they stare at the menu for 20mins getting their belly ready for something that ain't there. The 2 stars are honestly for my server she tried her best to work with what she had. Bad hostess, great server Marquis. It's a busy place so utilize the online wait list. We didn't love how the hostess seated us and when we asked to sit at an already clean table behind ours she said "no you have to sit here". So while we waited to have our table bussed, she laid down the menus in the four spots on top of a wet and dirty table. I asked her why not wait until the table is cleaned and she said I'm working on having it cleaned, ok noted but why place the menus down on wetness and dirt in the meantime? The restaurant itself needs more attention in the cleanliness department bathrooms included. And there were too many people at the hostess station so much so that we had to say excuse us to get fully into the restaurant to get to our table. Also the menu says burgers are cooked medium well, yet mine came out cremated initially, I mean it was an inedible hockey puck. My server understood the assignment and got them to remake it properly. Marquis was busy but attentive and helpful, I hope they keep him because he's an asset. The drinks were great and strong which we appreciated. The poor waitress (maybe her first day) didn't even know they served Miller lite? We got there a little before 8 and did not walk out until after 11:30 ! To me that's just shy of a part time shift at any job. Cleaning products at our table that we had to ask to be moved because we could smell them. Skip the house "strawberry lemonade". I'm honestly extremely disappointed with my experience at Cheddar's today. I work in the service industry so I try my best to be patient and kind to all staff but my patience was ran extremely thin today. To begin I sat at a high top that I had to wait for to be cleaned, and I waited for about for about 5 minutes with no service, I realized the bartender was very busy and decided to wait for an actual table. Once I sat, I placed my whole order (app, entree & dessert) and got my drink. Everything was okay until I waited about 15 minutes for my food and when it came they only brought the dessert. I didn't get my appetizer, or entree or anything just straight to dessert. I only took about 3 bites and the rest of my food came out at once but I ended up having to box everything up. I was really looking forward go just sitting and enjoying my full meal but instead I wasted about an hour in the restaurant and didn't even actually enjoy any food in the restaurant. I love the decor. Food is always on point and drinks are strong. Your wait time on the weekends may be 45min-to 1.5 hr long depending on the size of your party. Grap and a drink by the bar it will make your wait time seem much shorter or head to Target to do some window shopping. They will send you a text when your table is ready. read more

So let me tell you, this is our first time here, and the experience was not a pleasurable one. The waiter took our order and we were waiting forever for our drinks. The silverware was dirty, when we got our food, it was not hot. The staff also need to practice table etiquette because reaching over a consumer to place entrées on the table is unacceptable. The pot pie was watery, the burger had no cheese and was cold, the shrimp was cold, the pasta was cold, and the dip was cold. One of my guests did not receive her salad. We were not the only table that experienced poor service; there were 2 other groups/ tables that had the same issues. The manager, Mark (who didn't identify himself), was called to the table and notified of the issues. His only response was, " i will see what's going on back there." At the end of the meal, we did get a discounted meal, but that doesn't change the experience. As it stands now, I would not recommend this location! read more

Cheddar's was Awesome tonight. I took my friend girl here and her daughter for dinner since we were out shopping. I haven't been here in awhile so she was like "Yes, let's go." We walked in and was greeted. We sat and chose our drinks. The waitress came and took our drink orders and dinner selection. Ambiance/staff- The restaurant has a really huge and beautiful fish tank built in the wall, I loved that. Also the restaurant was really clean and the employees were super friendly. The lighting was great, customers seemed happy just like me and my party, and colors of the restaurant was pleasant. Drinks- I ordered a strawberry lemonade, my friend ordered a frozen strawberry margarita and her daughter ordered a strawberry lemonade like me. The lemonade was great and my friend loved her adult beverage. She said it was just the right amount of liquor in it. Entree- I ordered double broccoli, Grilled tilapia and shrimp. My friend ordered steak and shrimp, broccoli and a potato. Her daughter ordered Mac and cheese, broccoli casserole, and key west chicken and shrimp. I didn't take a pic of their food since they had already put ketchup and etc on their food, but I did take photos of mine. Outcome- When I say every bite of the food was well seasoned, my gosh it was really good. I'm a picky eater and if it's not good, I'm going to say it. But my food was really delicious and my friend and her daughter said the same. You didn't need to add anything to the meal. My food had mango salsa for the topping and grilled shrimp. White rice was served under the fish and shrimp, but since I'm not a rice eater, I didn't eat much of the rice. ***I ate every bit of my food excluding the rice. :-) I took home for my son the honey butter croissant. I'm allergic to honey, so I didn't eat any at the table. They used to be free, but since they are extremely popular, you have to purchase them. Absolutely horrible experience. I have always loved cheddar's but I will not return to this location! Our server was polite but we waited over an hour on our food, literally people were seated after us and were receiving their orders and there was no wait at all. We complained and got a manager (I don't know if he even said his name) we expressed this concern and he apologized and comped a whole 6.00 off our ticket (15%), it was almost insulting! He did offer an appetizer but if we waited an hour on food God knows how long that would've taken! And the icing on the cake is that the food came out WARM! We ordered a desert and most definitely canceled that! Not only would I not come back, but I wouldn't recommend anyone else to waste their money. Spoke with a manager about not at least getting our drinks (which were all non-alcoholic) and all he could do was apologize. TRASH. They need to shut this ish down. Both were absolutely delicious! The hot honey butter crescent rolls were SO GOOD. We couldn't eat it all and took it home. And just finished the leftovers and was still great. first, I want to say that the food was delicious. We had the salmon over rice. The honey butter croissants were amazing even though you only get two at a time. That said, service was crappy after waiting an hour and a half to finally be seated, acted like they didn't even know we were called after we have been paged and seated others before us. The booth where they put us, was freezing with a vent directly on us. Luckily, the waitress noticed, and moved us to a table away from the vent. oh, and my husband's silverware was left at our original table so we asked for more. they brought him plastic silverware. Uhg. Had to ask twice, after catching her attention, to bring us the extra food we requested. We never got any refills. This place allows dine in but it's abiding by the social distance rules set for restaurants and other places that are currently open so I didn't feel uncomfortable dining in. This particular outing was a date and it was basically my dates idea to come here. However, due to the seating being so spaced out the wait time was about 45 minutes to an hour and that didn't sit well with me giving my hunger but I remained patient. Even though we had a long wait to be seated we didn't have a long wait to be served. By the time we placed our orders we already knew what we wanted. I was basic and ordered the Chicken Tender Platter (No. 8 Special) which is supposedly a favorite of NASCAR Driver Tyler Reddick and my date ordered the New Orleans Pasta. Within about 7-10 minutes, our waiter brought both our meals out. Everything looked amazing but my only concern was that my food was not hot. It tasted as if it had been sitting for a while after being cooked. I was expecting hot fries and hot tenders but I got food that wasn't so hot.
