This place may have been overhyped and my expectations were too high. I thought it was very average. Maybe it was because I was part of a large party, maybe it was the food I ordered, or because it was during lunch rush, who knows. I got the lunch special club and burger combo. Great deal, but they should tell you you're getting half a club sandwich. The burger was decent, nothing to drool over. Salads were good, dressing was good, chips and queso were good. Main entree Ribs & Chicken.. chicken was superb! Ribs...It's very easy to cover burnt ribs with BBQ sauce..And that's exactly what was done. I think anyone can find something they like. The key here for my aforementioned paragraph, is Cheddar's doesn't try to be anything it's not. Cheddar's. Cheddar's should be a 5 star rating on my scale. But - there's 2 small wrinkles which make it just miss the mark: 1. No pizza on the menu. Considering their wide variety of food and styles of cuisine, by virtue they have all the ingredients in stock which a pizza would call for. I'm kinda scratching my head on this one. 2. There are 3 locations in Oklahoma (Midwest City, Norman, & Tulsa) yet none in Oklahoma City Limits. Strange as I feel Cheddar's would do extremely well on the strip of restaurants along 1-240, or Memorial road north side OKC near Edmond. Thumbs up for making me feel important without the price. Our waiter was very courteous, prompt and unobtrusive. The menu was fair with a generous amount of options but not overwhelming (not like the Bible-ish menu at Cheesecake Factory lol!). I felt as if the prices were very fair considering the portion sizes were ample. The food was nothing to die for. The ribs were supposed to be "slow smoked" but they were over seasoned, over sauced and tasted more like they were "slow boiled". They were tender and they give you a huge rack for $15 but it wasn't life changing. I paired my ribs with broccoli cheese casserole (personal fave) and it was good but over salted. I would recommend anyone stay away from this Cheddars. Eight of us, six adults and two young children, went there the night of Saturday, May 13th. We were there to celebrate my daughter's graduation from Oklahoma State University that evening. We have very sad memories of her graduation dinner. After ordering at approximately 10:25 PM, we waited in an isolated corner of the restaurant while the waitstaff mostly ignored us. We inquired about our food several times, and were told that it was almost ready. At 11:30 PM, one of the adults went and asked the hostess if she could check on our food to figure out why it was still not available. She said "oh, it's being plated right now." It was delivered at about 11:50 PM, stone cold. If it was really put on plates at 11:30 PM, it should not of been that cold. Cheddars corporate should absolutely look into being certain their restaurants are trained in safe food handling practices. My husband had the salmon, which was just as cold as everything else, and had digestive symptoms the next day. It is important that fish is cooked, heated and kept warm properly.
