Reach out to corporate after a problem, what a joke! We've done that and the only resolution we received was a card for a free appetizer at our next visit from the Manager the day of our visit. Whatever you do, make sure you don't get Tisha as a Server. 10 minute wait after finishing our dinner to order dessert and then we had to find her to get her to come back to our table. Oh, did I mention she called us 'ladies' when she was approaching the table from the back; 2 people at the table and one was a man; so where were the ladies? After a complaint to the Manager it was inferred there was nothing she could do unless the customer complains. This place has taken a serious downfall since the last time I was there. Service is nice, but the food is at best EXTREMELY AVERAGE!! Ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger w/Fries...when my plate arrived, you could tell it was just "Thrown" on the plate. Burger patty on the plate, with 1/2 the bun on top, the other half of the bun on the other side of the plate! Had to "Dig" under the fries to find the Pickles and onions! Niece ordered the Meatloaf...nothing but seasoned ground beef formed into something, and was falling apart. Oh and lets not forget about the MOST watery QUESO dip I have ever had!! I have been here a few times and the service and food we're good. I have tried the ribs, chicken, steaks and sandwiches. All good. They charge extra for a salad which I think is silly. Why not include a salad with dinner? Inside is nice and inviting. Long lines on the weekend which is a deterrent. Not really into waiting for 45+ minutes to eat dinner. You can get in pretty easy during the week. I think Texas Roadhouse probably has better steaks and more selection. Overall a good restaurant. read more

I do not write many reviews but I am greatly disappointed in my experiences I have had at our local Cheddars restaurant. This place is less than a mile from my house and has been my go to place since they opened, that is until the last 6-9 months. We had eaten there at least 4 times a month for years. However, in the last 9 months the service has gone downhill greatly. I know they are busy but it is getting really ridiculous. I have actually started going to other places because there are too many issues now. The first time we had an issue it took them an hour and 45 minutes to get us our food. He manag3er apologized and tried to compensate for the issues with the kitchen. This time the it was the kitchen who according to the manag3er kept bumping our dinners for other tables. This meal ended up being free. At least this time the manager seemed to care. I had a couple of more meal issues but chalked it up to new servers and an overworked kitchen. We decided to give it t try when we had family in town and it was a total disaster! there were so many issues on several of the meals. Solution was one free meal even though 4 of them were messed up but at least the manager tried. Tonight I went with my husband and 2 kids. The food came out wrong and the 3 years old food took an additional 5 minutes for the mac and cheese. The server apologized for the issues and I told him never mind because th3e bake potatoes have been messed up the last 5 times we have been there. He mentioned it to the manager. Here is the part that really pissed me off. The manager came over thinking we were with the parent company Darden. When she found out we were not with Darden she didn't even care about the issues and blew us off. I would have given this place a 4 or 5 star rating before but now I will not recommend it and it only sort of deserves a 2 star rating. My level of disappointment is so high right now and will not likely be back anytime soon. read more

My husband and I went here for dinner this past Thursday night for the first time. When we arrived there we liked the decor and setup and I got excited about eating here. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. I ordered a bone-in rib eye steak and hubby ordered a chicken with gravy. My steak was the worst steak I've ever had. It was hard to chew and lacked flavor. The seasoning was deplorable, they put parsley on top of the steak. Who does that? The side dishes were not much better. I barely ate my food. Hubby seemed to enjoy his food, but he will eat anything if it's edible. I ordered a chocolate cake since my hubby's birthday just passed and that was delicious. The cake and ice cream went together so well. Which is why they received an extra star. We will likely return before we 100% write them off. The food is excellent here. I don't know who the chefs are but the seafood is better than a lot of specialized seafood restaurants like Red Lobster. The ambience is nice and relaxing. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because it would be nice to be able to make reservations or, at the least, call ahead to reserve seats. My first visit, we waited 45 minutes to be seated; we ended up getting drinks at Starbucks in the meantime. This has to probably be the worst service I've ever had. The waitress could have provided better service. The manager could have given more attention to the guests than they could have the tables. Excellent service. The food was flavorful and well cooked. Tilapia and shrimp had a nice kick with a sweet mango salsa counter. Black beans side is excellent. Mac and cheese is a little bland. Visited 2/9/20 arrived and seated 4:50 pm. No server for over 15 min (had to ask at hostess station). Every table in our area had issues (wrong food, missed food etc). Once our server showed up, he was very friendly but wait times continued to be long the entire night. Food was good but almost two hours was crazy. This review is for takeouts, I tried to call several times on different days trying to order takeaway, each of the times i was put on hold and I had to wait 10minutes or more for somebody to finally take my order. And the few times that I went to pick up my order, I walk inside the restaurant, was greeted by the hostess, but as soon as they hear Me say I'm here for takeout, they seem a little annoyed and (pointed) me to the bar. Went there with my kids for my bday and the server we had was barely at the table I think we seen her prolly three times. Then when we go to check out we explain the cheese fries were no good and look like a lump of cheese thrown on fries. All she can say is I'm sorry, I manage a restaurant and when a customer brings something to my attention I do my best to make them happy with a discount on their food or credit for a next visit we weren't even offered something to replace it or to speak with a manager.. the waitress was Mari v. So disappointed that they took French Dressing off the menu as a salad dressing option! WHY??? I can't seem to get a definite answer as our local Cheddars said it is a corporate decision. I called the Corporate Office today but reallY felt like i was talking to someone who's job it is to answer phones. No offense, but I would have liked to speak with someone who's job is it that makes the decision of what stays and what goes on a menu. I know it seems petty but I can't digest ranch dressing well and can't stand the taste of the other options. My husband wanted to visit Cheddar's for his birthday this year, having heard good things about it from a co-worker. Visiting the website, and looking at the menu prices, and their description of "from scratch kitchen cooking" I was also intrigued so we when to visit. Initially given a wait-time of 20 minutes, but our wait was more around 5 minutes, so that was a plus. However, for longer waits don't plan on being able to play Words with Friends to pass the time - the place is a total signal dead zone, and as the building has no wi-fi, you are out of luck as far as a connection goes. Given that the place's big claim to fame was being "from scratch" I didn't anticipate a big problem requesting a gluten free menu, but when the menu arrived, there were only three or four items on the menu. The only side you can request are steamed vegetables. I inquire about the status of the mashed potatoes about what made them unsafe (as being "from scratch" they shouldn't be boxed). Server returns with the answer - the pre-blended garlic seasoning they "get from food service" has gluten in it. Why do they use this seasoning blend? "We don't keep fresh garlic in the kitchen." I ordered a steak, with steamed broccoli and carrots, my only choices. Both were good, but - nothing to write home about compared to going to Longhorn which is closer and has more side options on their gluten free menu. Of course, what was seasoning my steamed broccoli? Shaved garlic, the garlic they don't keep in the kitchen. My husband really liked his meal - and was a big fan of their bread pudding. So, we may eat there again for a special event for him, but overall I felt like the hype was a let down, and they didn't live up to their "from scratch" claim. read more

I really want to like Cheddars. It is beautifully decorated with a great atmosphere. The selection is great and certain items on the menu are craveable (like the broccoli cheese casserole!) That said, the service at this location is awful. We purposely go right when they open so the wait is not super long. But everything is about waiting there. Wait for someone to come to the table, wait for drinks, wait for the food, wait for the bill. You get the idea. If all else was perfect, maybe that would be okay but every time we have went something was missing or wrong with our order. Staff members are nice but it is hard to tolerate every visit. The restaurant was clean and although it was busy we were seated without a wait. Outstanding service and complimentary honey butter crescent rolls where and added bonus. The food here is good and the portions are filling. The bourbon glazed salmon was great, cooked just right and not dry like many restaurant chains. The honey lime dressing made the salad pop with sweetness. For the amount and quality of food received the price was perfect. The reason why this place got one star at all was because of the drinks . Very reasonably priced, very well thought out, and a good blend of alcohol . However, the onion rings were very heavy on the grease, the garlic bread was smeared in some sort of synthetic butter mess, and the shrimp noodle dish was so salty, you could use it to create jerky . The ribs were forgettable and the sauce tasted just like baby Ray's, instead of calling this place chedders, they should call this place shredders because that's exactly what it will do to your butt when it comes out. For a restaurant that boasts made from scratch menu items, the only thing you should scratch is this place off your list. read more

Horrible service, great food. The servers try to rush everything, and you WILL have more than one server. You won't know who to tip. When you have a problem with the service, the manager can't even help you without the assistance of the original server. I have been here 4 times and every visit is the same, the servers do not know the menu, are new to servicing, but the food is always fantastic. Portion size large. Prices are good. Overall I was surprised by the quality of food and ambience. Nice place to settle in after an evening of shopping at the Kenosha Outlet Mall down the road. I plan on going back. I had shrimp and chicken tenders. Great sauce. The shrimp were huge. Butterflied and fried. You can choose a few sides. My partner had ribs. Those were great. Went to Cheddars a few days after they opened and about 3 weeks after again,. First time, I only had drinks, but the folks I was with had food. First visit we sat in a booth by the bar. They were out of 4-5 beers and beer selection for a WI restaurant was poor. The food for the 3 others I was with and service was good. Second visit was with my wife and we sat at the bar. Service was slow and poor. We had a couple appetizers - food was OK at best. read more

I've been to this location a total of four times over the last eight months. First two visits were great. The last two visits some serious problems. Issue 1: cushions in the booths I was seated in have very uncomfortable depressions in them to where I had to tell host to move us to another table. Issue 2: we ordered onion rings and the servers don't bring appetizer size plates? So we eat an appetizer while crumbs,etc. all over the table? After asking server for plates we wait approx 4 minutes while appetizer is getting cold so we had to ask a bus boy for service. I hope these issues get resolved. The 40 minute wait on a Saturday night was just fine. We heard this place was great and thought it would be worth the wait. Service and food was quick (+1 point) but we were only checked on once. We had the rib eye (tasty) but it was sliced very thin so that it would look bigger on the plate. We were told that southern greenbeans were made with onion and bacon, turns out not a speck of bacon and very bland. The "buttered off the cob corn" was simply canned corn. We also ordered the Grillled Baja Chicken that was so drenched in very spicy pico-de-gallo that it drowned out the taste of everthing else. It was very uncomfortable to eat so I didn't and sent it back. They did give me a discount, half off the chicken plate, so +1 more point. Will not waste my time again. read more

This is my family's favorite restaurant because the food is always consistently delicious and so affordable! We had Emily serve us for our most recent visit and it was ok, much less satisfying than most of our visits. I understand that Sunday is a busy family day for restaurants because I work at one myself. Emily was very sweet but never came to check on us after we got our food nor ask if we wanted drink refills. On top of that, she forgot about our appetizer. Instead of being transparent and honest about it, she tells us that it "must have gone to the wrong table." She offered to take it off the bill or have it served with our meal. Our group of 9 adults, celebrating my husband's retirement and our upcoming move from IL to AZ., decided to meet at Cheddar's in Pleasant Prairie at 4:30. We had eaten there before and had no problems, other than a lengthy wait time. 11/17/18 dinner was a completely different story and an experience which has now caused 9 people, their families and possibly friends to never return to this restaurant, nor any other Cheddar locations! Our wonderful server, Rudy, was beyond pleasant and gave us his 110%. He is a gem and a real asset to this restaurant! He bent over backwards to make sure our seating accomodations (of 9) were to our liking and that our wait time was worth the wait. The runner brought out all but my order. My grilled fish was on its way. We noticed that 1 of our orders was incorrect as it had my choice of sides and not the ones that were ordered. The runner took it back to notify the kitchen. When the incorrect order was returned corrected, mine was still someplace in the kitchen. Since we were enjoying each others' company, we did no complaining, just inquired as to when my order would arrive. As my friends ate, the incorrect corrected order was now found to be only semi cooked, so we motioned for someone to take it back and finish cooking the chicken. It was literally raw inside. Rudy came to our table, clearly shaken, but kindly informed us that he had gone to the manager and complained about our order mix up and my lack of mea. He did this, not because we asked him to, but because obviously customer satisfaction comes first and his great work ethic. The manager let him go, for the evening, because of his complaint. We were beyond shocked that the manager would do something like this to one of their obviously top notch employees! The manager NEVER came to our table to apologize nor explain ANYTHING! We asked the runners, the servers who took Rudy's place to please send the manager over, which they said they would, but he/she never showed his/her face at our table. Meanwhile, my food never came and my friend's undercooked and now cold chicken came at the end. It had been sitting in the kitchen. One of the servers told us that she was told to tell Rudy's tables that he had a family emergency and had to leave. This was confirmed to us by guests at the next table who were told the same thing and to whom we told the whole story and all that went on. The replacement servers tried their best to get the manager over, but could not succeed. The one server told us that Rudy was their most loved employee. When my friends were finishing their meal, I was asked if I wanted a box to take home my grilled fish order, which I still hadn't seen. I said, "thanks but no Just make sure it is taken off the bill. We asked if Rudy would receive the tip we wished to give him and the server told us that the manager had told her that Rudy would not receive any of his tips, from the current tables. No tip was left. Not sure who the manager was for the evening. The names Darwin and Kym England were given to us by staff. The management was the worst any of us have ever experienced and although the restaurant is busy to the max, there are 9 people and anyone associated with us 9, who will NEVER return. I took my family to cheddars yesterday May 16th and realized that they have changed a lot since the last time we went... The prices have Increased, but the portions have decreased, My family loved to go there because of the large portions and the ability to take food home, Even the good wasn't as good as the previous 5 times we have went...
