Tried this place out as alot of places are closed for the holidays or just closed on Mondays. Got seated right away, service was fair and took about 10 minutes to get waitress to take drinks and food order. My husband got the classic cheeseburger and I got the original chicken sandwich with cheese curds as our appetizer along with 2 sodas. The fresh croissant rolls were good and a nice starter. First time here. Service was massively slow. Seemed annoyed we wanted to loom at the menu. Came by to ask if we were ready to order we said yes she said "ok" then went to the bar and cut limes for 10 actual minutes... anyway. Food came out quick is isn't tally a good sign and this was the case here. Ribs were dry and almost inedible. If I could have gotten the servers attention I could have got a new drink to wash them down. The fries were actually gross. At one, not just terrible but seemed like they hadn't even been sitting under a cook light they were actually cold. My husband got the country fried chicken, it was a whole chicken breast. Not pounded down and all the breading fell off leaving a terrible thick dry breast. We would have mentioned all of these things but the server never came back. First, let me say my server, Leslie, was amazing. Anticipated my thoughts before I asked for anything!! She is an amazing young lady!! Now, for the food. Y'all really need to get here soon for this chicken! Baked to perfection and juicy. I hate dry chicken, so I'm always reluctant to try baked chicken elsewhere. The carrots had a light sweetness to them, so it complemented the chicken, and the broccoli was steamed beautifully with a little garlic. I was very pleased with it. I did find out that if you're not a fan of garlic, you can order the regular steamed broccoli. I actually have enough food leftover for another meal. I am stuffed with everything I ordered . And coming here at the time I do, 2:45/3pm, I don't get bombarded with a lot of people talking. The ambiance is quite nice today. Unfortunately we had a bad experience. Our waitress was in pajamas they all were, that's fine it was Christmas time- but she didn't even announce her name. She also brought out bread plates and said rolls were in the oven. She never brought our croissants. We asked for lemons for water and the ones she brought looked squeezed - meaning they were very old lemons. My husband ordered wine, took 20 min to receive it and it was barely 2 oz and $7 a glass. Meals come out mine is wrong. I was brought a completely different meal than what I ordered and when the bill came she had left the wrong meal on the bill. It was just not a good experience and it was $100 dinner bill and definitely not worth it. Today several of my friends and I had lunch at Cheddar's in Smyrna. We were there around 1pm and were seated promptly. Our waitress Amari was very pleasant. We were no hurry to order because we had not seen each other in awhile and we were waiting on one other friend to join us so she brought us the croissant and drinks. When we were ready to order she was prompt and efficient. Our meals were brought out in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was well prepared and good. Amari kept our glasses filled. And I had a to go also that was brought out when were finishing our lunch. We were able to enjoy the food and the company. I would recommend this waitress and restaurant. This trip our server was Jessica so if you are heading to cheddars, ask for her. My cup never went dry and everything came out as expected. We all left full and satisfied. She did an excellent job! We ordered a family meal online yesterday and was supposed to get an email before we we picked it up, but didn't. It was supposed to be picked up at 2:15. We called at 2:00 to make sure it was ready since we didn't receive an email, and she said it was ready. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED!!! I live about 15 minutes from this Cheddar's, so will generally call when I leave to place an order for carry out. Normal call in, "One moment while I transfer you to the bar." Sweet! I get through one full of their country music hold songs and another. 6 minutes in... "Thank you for calling Cheddar's, how can I help you?" "Yes ma'am, still just waiting to place my carry out order." "Alright, I'll transfer you." I end up getting to the restaurant and pull into one of the curbside spots and still am on hold. A lady bringing food comes to my window and asks if I have a to-go order. I tell her, "No. I'm waiting to place one and have been for over 10 minutes." She just says, "Okay great," then proceeds to walk away. Ummm... okay. Then proceed to be on wait for another couple of minutes then place my incredibly easy order after 13+ minutes of being on hold. I worked in restaurants for 8 years, so do not take the time to write anything unless I am thoroughly impressed or disappointed. I get it, things happen. But this was a complete drop of the ball! Omg.... So I tried to give this place a chance. Never again. The first time I went they had me and my children sitting at a table with Ant killer and ants on the table. The manager was very nice and tried to handle the situation. We went ahead and ordered when our waitress got to our table, I ordered a New York strip steak with buttered corn and mashed potatoes. We requested to sit in the bar area. We were greeted within seconds with their signature croissants. 5 minutes went by and we still hadn't received our drinks. After 10 minutes we still hadn't seen anyone. We then flagged someone down who asked us what we needed. We said we had ordered drinks and never received them. Another 7-8 minutes went by so we left after waiting 20+ minutes for drinks. We went to Longhorn where we received amazing service. We figured maybe they were short staffed or something of the sort so we dined there again last week. We had ants crawling on our table, our order came out wrong, food was cold, and we barely saw our server. Our drinks were empty 75% of the time and I was charged for items I never received. We have given up dining at cheddars. They are both owned by Darden but definitely recommend Longhorn instead. read more

The one time i finally decide to review this place the food was horrible. We use to come here all the time and loved everything we got but last night was a different story. We arrived close to 9pm on a Tues and got greeted and seated right away which was never a problem when we come to Cheddars we rarely have to wait long. So we said our grace and dug right in. Ugh the food was just not good. The shrimp had too much batter and it was hard, the green beans was on the sweeter side and my pasta just didn't taste the same. We was so disappointed!!! He ate all the baked potatoe and drank his club soda and nibbled on some of the shrimp, and i barely ate my pasta but my fruit tea waa good. Almost $40 with gratuity we was not satisfied! They went up on their price too it seems and somehow manage to not make their food fresh made to order. To be a scratched made food it sure didn't feel like it. My boyfriend said the shrimp almost tasted like captain d's. Well we won't be returning. We joined my family for dinner and should've been suspicious when there was no wait on a Friday night. It took over 45 minutes to bring our food and at that point we had to ask where our food was. We were told a manager would come speak to us but he/she never did. Our waiter showed up and said we have a new cook and it's taking longer. We complained because other tables got their food and finished eating in the time we were waiting for our food. This was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had at any Cheddars. I don't know how they expect to stay open with poor operation. It explains why the restaurant was half empty in a Friday night. We went here for my brother's birthday. The waiter was tentative but he did his best to assist all of our requests. The drinks were tasteful although I don't have a decent picture of them. My brother enjoyed his grilled chicken Alfredo. On the other hand, I found my chicken tender parmesan being really dry. My husbands ribeye and sides were perfect.
