We love Cheers 54. It's pretty much the only place we go in the Zephyrhills area. The bartenders are awesome, the regulars are good people and their pizzas are delicious! I can't say that every patron is great but what do you expect at a dive bar? Highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area. EDIT: I also want to mention there is no smoking inside and on the weekends they have security. read more

I moved to this area in June of this year. Cheers was recommended to me, so I went to check it out. (I'm a 54 year old woman). The place is hands down - fantastic! The locals embraced my family and I as one of their own, inexpensive drinks, the bartenders are superb! Super friendly, hard working, very patient! The owner is wonderful, very sweet, quiet woman. The locals celebrate each other's birthdays, babies on the way, wins and losses. The ambiance is nice and dark, pool tables, dart boards, a bowling game, djs, bands and karaoke nights, trivia nights, ladies night. Small but good menu of finger foods. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and you're always glad you came. 10/10. read more

Shithole. The owners do not care about patrons. Watched them overserve a very inebriated girl, giving shots even though she could barely talk. Some other girls came over and asked if she had a problem and the bartender and owner looked the other way. She and her friends were all followed outside and assaulted at the front door. Police were called but owner claims no responsibility and claim they have no cameras outside. LIES No one would admit they did anything and the girl was badly injured. Fractured eye socket and broken thumb. NO ONE GOT INTO ANY TROUBLE. And they went back in after and were still served. This place lives up to its shithole reputation. read more

As a professional dive bar patron, I give Cheers several thumbs up. My only regret is the lack of snack options but, again, dive bar. There are restaurants near at hand for the munchies. Cheers is a place where the locals care. Yes, they may write on the walls, but they can spell correctly, so we're already steps ahead of the competition. The music can be eclectic and they have a jukebox that scours the Internet. I've only ever been unable to find one song and, trust me, that was fair. I've gone in and run the jukebox for hours with my hippie music and never heard a single complaint. Not that I would have listened. The DJ's are well versed in music (haha) and they have a fun trivia night every week that can be a blast. The bartenders and security staff rock it. They know when it's a joke and they know when to escort people out. I'm a nice young lady, in her late 30's and of small frame. I don't often feel perfectly safe and secure in a bar but Cheers is one that I do. Looking for a quiet place to hang out during the day and aren't a big fan of natural sunlight? Cheers is your answer. I often bring my laptop and use the free wi-fi to work. This is a small town and options are limited. The other two dives, well, one has a rule against profanity so if you swear, you're out. I'm pretty sure the other one is a front for drugs or human trafficking or something - no one ever there yet they've been open for over a year? Wtf. This is a definite local dive. Be prepared for cheap beer and smelling like smoke....Karaoke is great for people watching.

I was there friday night and had a pretty good time.....I like dive bars anyway, so on that note it was ok. Smoking is allowed so plan on smelling like a ashtray when you leave, but othewr than that i give it a thumbs up. read more

Used to be a pretty good place to go and sing, but has slowly been on a downward spiral since the new owners took over. Used to be a great karaoke bar, but now DJ's only play what they want and don't do a proper rotation. They constantly play dance songs even if no one is dancing or if it's a sausage fest with no girls in sight. It's your typical higher end dive bar. There are limited choices in the area so they still get some people in sporadically through the week but overall the place is weak even with another local bar being burnt to the ground. This place had live bands a few nights a week in the past, now nothing. With the proper owner or manager this place would have such great potential however, as it is currently it will never amount to anything worth going to except once in a great while when you are bored and want to drink and sing. Just be prepared you may be one of three in a rotation be there for 5 hours and get only two songs, (even if you are the next American Idol). Which makes no sense because the more you sing the more you would drink. Oh, and you'll get to enjoy the crappy music selection of the DJ's and their friends singing constantly, while you wait your turn. Also, avoid the draft beer unless you enjoy having the sh!+s later. I think they need to clean their beer lines better or more often because there is always an off taste and doesn't sit well once you drink it. I would love this place to be better but this is the reality of my opinion at this time. Good Luck! read more

I am a local here in Zephyrhills and I do frequent this bar a few times a month. I'm a little disturbed by the other comments listed here, as they do not represent AT ALL my experiences with Cheers. I have been a patron there on and off for over 7 years. I am a young woman in my 30's and have a good career- light social drinker. Since the new owner took over earlier this year, There have been new smoke eaters installed and a few rearrangements have been made to the place to make it more friendly. The drink prices are good and the staff is only rude to poeple that do not know how to conduct themselves in a public establishment. Those people are usually asked to leave or escorted out by security (which is on staff.) I go there to sing and to enjoy myself. It is the only place I will go in Zephyrhills to have a few drinks and sing. If a person is intelligent and sober enough to decipher intelligent language and behavior from unintelligent language and behavior, and to stay away from idiots....they will not be bothered at Cheers, but would enjoy thmselves as well. read more
