Chef David was so professional and at the same time personable he also helped us customize a menu that satisfied everyone. I did a lot of research in finding a private chef, and I found him different in the fact that other chefs had other people come to the house whereas David appeared himself and gave that personal touch - in my research, the other chefs would bring the food and have some of their staff serve it, whereas Chef David prepared everything fresh and cooked it to perfection- It was all done in a timely manner, and he not only prepared, but cleaned up afterwards - I will always use him in the future and can't wait to plan another event for family and friends. My brothers and sister and I and our spouses (eight people) have been flying to Florida annually from all over the US to celebrate with our mother, age 103, near her place in Venice. This year we hired Chef David to come to our vacation rental in Nokomis to create three dinners every other night during our week there. He worked with us to develop an amazing menu for each of the three meals, arrived with all the ingredients, prepared and beautifully plated each course (appetizer, salad, main and dessert), and left the kitchen spotless. A delicious experience! When we come next year we hope we can work with him again. He is a gem! read more

My husband surprised me for our 10 year anniversary and my birthday by having Chef David come to our place on Longboat and prepare a 4 course dinner for us and another couple. Chef worked closely with my husband to plan the menu and everything from start to finish was exquisite! He brought all ingredients with him, prepared all courses in front of us, cleaned the kitchen as if he hadn't even been there and was gone before we finished dessert. He is personable, professional and a fantastic chef. Whether large or small, he will add an extra special touch to your occasion, I highly recommend him! read more

So we planned an event to celebrate the 40th birthday of my wife and one of our closest friends. Chef made this experience magical! The food was amazing, not only that but it felt like he was part of our group. He even took pictures of all the food and of our group while we were eating. Giving us a wonderful surprise when he text me the pictures that evening. I will definitely use his service again and would recommend him to anyone interested in taking a normal dinner night into an experience of a lifetime. Thanks Chef! read more

Chef David came to cook for our family of 12 while on our vacation and his food was phenomenal! Every course I was timed perfectly, including the kids meals with the appetizers. The filet was cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were the best I've ever had. We had a lovely time chatting with him while he cooked and couldn't be happier with his service. I can't recommend David Hill as a chef and it's unfortunate because I had so much hope for his services. I contacted him during my search for a Christmas meal. He was prompt in his reply, though more expensive than 2 others by several hundred dollars. My husband and I save for a Christmas vacation every year and decided it was worth the hype and splurge. It was not. The mashed potatoes were DEFINITELY from Costco-I buy them all the time in my shopping there so to get them at a cost of over $700 was a bummer. He threw chunks of smoked gouda in there which I guess made it more expensive. We arrived to our delivered food and an email. David was too busy for over $700 to deliver our food so there was zero presentation I'd anticipated from a chef. His dad delivered it instead and per David's email, "he forgot the goat cheese, candied pecans, and a dressing for your salad, but you'll make do. My dad is old, LOL." Yup, for $700 we got an oh well and a laugh from David. I didn't mention the keys to our vacation rental being open; I guess his dad didn't have time to make sure they were secure. Or he forgot that too. I still wanted to believe he was too busy to be professional so I asked him for SOMETHING back. If he bought the food his dad forgot, we were entitled to the money for those groceries. David said $25 "because of the time to deliver." David never sent the check. If he had, I wpuld have considered a review glossing over the unfortunate realities of his service. I can't recommend the food of other local chefs, but I can't recommend you can count on David Hill. The food was good but he'sreally left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

We hired Chef David for a small dinner party at our home. Chef was a consummate professional, focused on creating a delicious meal. His staff were attentive and polite. Chef prepared multiple appetizers and entrees that did not disappoint. The food was absolutely phenomenal! We will definitely call on Chef David again. read more

My husband contacted Chef David Hill of Sarasota Florida to have him cook, two dinners in our home, at a total cost of $750 dollars, for two people. This was a Christmas gift. Like some gifts this was not a hit with me. When my husband contacted the Chef for a refund he said he would have to keep $150 of the total amount because he had such high fees to process the credit card transaction. This is a 20% charge which we felt was absurd. Should you choose to do business with him be prepared for such fees. read more

I am a Private/Personal Chef who will come to your private home and put together a gourmet experience that you will never get at a local restaurant. Some ask whats the difference between my service and a restaurant and i would say for sure the food quality is the biggest difference, my seafood selection is brought in that day and served to you that evening. I would say most restaurants do not shop daily like my service does so my quality is of a higher standard and with good fresh ingredients my service is Superior!

When i started on this path i worked for a family exclusively full time for 3 years. At the time when I was let go from this first job and i came up with the idea of buliding a website to connect with a larger audience and so far this business has grown more & more every year.

I just feel Blessed to find a career path that just felt like I found my calling, its very much like I had a natural talent for cooking and it just came so easy for me when learning the basic skills in culinary school, its almost like i had all the answers before class got going. I also Feel Blessed that I get all these Calls from other families wanting to try my service over going out to eat at a restaurant or picking another private chef, i am honored that they pick my service over other options.

His meals are invariably nutritious, delicious , and attractively presented. There is plenty of food for a filling dinner for one. It is like going to a good restaurant each night. All I have to do is go to my refrigerator, pick out what I want and heat it up in the microwave for about 2.5 to 3 minutes right in its own container. There is a menu of 4 different dishes for each night, and the menu changes weekly. He offers touchless delivery at no additional cost right to doorstep each day M-F. I have tried a number of the national meal delivery services like Freshly. Chef Mike beats those by a country mile. Try them for a week. I am confident you'll be hooked.

We had the absolute best experience with David Hill. From start to finish everything was flawless. He came to our vacation home and prepared a dinner that completely exceeded our expectations. The food was phenomenal and every course was beautifully presented and full of flavor. What really set the evening apart was David's personality and professionalism. He was warm, engaging, and made the whole experience feel special. He also went above and beyond for the kids, creating simple but delicious dishes that they loved. It can be tricky to keep adults and children equally happy at the table, but he nailed it. The attention to detail, the quality of ingredients, and the level of care that went into every part of the evening was outstanding. We will absolutely be booking David again and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a private chef who delivers on every level. read more

Chef David Hill prepared what was a memorable five course wedding dinner for our small intimate group. His proposed menu was spot on for the occasion. The food was prepared in our luxury home rental, where he allowed a curious group to watch and ask questions during the preparation. He used fresh, high quality produce, evident in his perfectly prepared dishes - - - from appetizer thru entree and dessert. As each course was presented, David explained his key methods of preparation, ingredients used and their meaningful importance to the results. One of the most delightful dining experiences we have had in South West Florida. Everything was absolutely delicious. Scheduling and planning a menu was easy as well as communicating throughout the process. Chef David was able to incorporate the fish we had caught that day into our meal, which was amazing. He was in and out quickly and left the kitchen in better shape than when he arrived. He was friendly and fun to chat with, but very professional. Chef David cooked for 7 of us while vacationing in Anna Maria Island for my husband's 40th birthday. He prepared a delightful 3 course meal and, not only was the food devine, but he was incredibly nice and personable. He even made a special meal for our two young kids of chicken fingers and mac & cheese. His beef tenderloin was the most tender I have ever eaten and pretty much melted in our mouths. So good! We would recommend Chef David to anyone and hope we'll get to enjoy his company and his culinary delights again soon! read more
