#510-2016: even…read morethough they offer curly fries, even though they have self-service kiosk, even though (apparently) you can (somewhat) build your own burger, even though this location is spacious and split into 2 levels, even though they now bring food at the table... it still is McDonald's... same halfway decent fast food (though the curly fries where FRESHLY made), same effect on a body who is not used to ingest this much junk and unhealthy food. I guess, if you are walking around this mall and don't have time to each a proper lunch, McD or BK will be just fine...

#423-2016: Ok... I…read moreknow, I am a sucker for junk food (every now and again). And, if I have to choose between the Golden Arches and the King I shall ALWAYS choose my whopper (even though it shrunk in time).... I have learnt NOT to ask for onion rings here in Italy (made that mistake ONLY twice and gave up) though it pains me because I really enjoy BK's rings... I normally choose either the whooper jr. or the whooper classic. Today I decided to grab my reluctant mother and treat us to an (either) early dinner (or) late post-lunch around 5ish in the afternoon. What I don't particularly understand (nor like) is the fact this franchise is some 50 steps away from McDonald's... talk about competition.... Another odd thing is that here in Italy you can purchase Coca-Cola in both stores (whereas in the US you can purchase Coca-Cola in McDonald's and Pepsi in Burger King).

Wanted to try kfc in italy since everyone speaks higgs of it. It was just ok. The fries were better…read morethan the US but the chicken tastes like Chick-fil-A. Plus the restaurant was pretty gross on the inside. Full of trash and dirty tables.

De Canto was my favorite caffe in Milano on my recent stay…read more The location was perfect right on the Piazza Della Scala. I stopped in after looking at the Galleria D'Italia, a space with free exhibits owned by Banca d'Intesa. This caffe has a warm wood interior. You may order at your table any of the food or drinks and the waitstaff will bring it to you. I spent a countless number of times at de Canto because I had just window-shopped along the Via Montenapoleone or had visited Rizzoli in the Galleria nearby or just wanted an oasis of quiet in this mad, chaotic city that was away from the crowds. There is no copperto so you don't pay extra to sit or stand. It's copperto free! I enjoyed having a cup of tea in each visit. If you order a coffee, you get a small piece of Venchi chocolate - a nice treat! Tired from shopping, from visiting the Duomo, from your crazy co-workers or sweetheart who has been nagging you all day, stop by de Canto. You will leave refreshed and feeling very zen.
