Customer service was compromised since we had more than 10 people. Anyway I recommend the sushi. I was skeptical because how good could sashimi and nigiri be in Turkey -- let alone central Anatolia?! This California girl wasn't too disappointed with my spicy salmon roll. It was almost enough for my appetite because I turn into a sushi-zilla! I recommend ordering the ginger lemonade, I mean the zenginli limonata. :) The menu features Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine ... not exactly authentic but it could be much worse. :P

I ordered the lunch special which consisted of 12 pieces of sushi and a small glass of coke. My only problem was that for the price the portions are extremely small, however, the sushi is very tasty. My friend ordered a bento box which had fried dumplings, sweet and sour chicken, vegetable rice and edamame. We were less than impressed with the edamame and the dumplings were too hard. For dessert we had the special which was jasmine tea or Turkish coffee with roasted honey coated walnuts. The jasmine tea was delicious and my favorite part of the entire meal! One thing that left a bitter taste in my mouth was the stinginess of the restaurant. I asked for a small glass of water to take some medicine and I was charged a ridiculous amount. Not classy and not fitting for the restaurant. Overall, it was a good experience. The atmosphere is calm and it's a nice place to catch up with old friends.

There are a couple of Chinese food chains in Ankara, yet this place definitely is the one that stands out the most. It has an authentic, classic middle class Chinese restaurant spirit to it. Personnel is very friendly and the food is definitely worth, at least a try, if you are looking for 'unmodified' delicious Chinese dishes.

And let's be honest, decor is never a strong suit of Chinese and Korean places, based on my experiences in NYC. I guess people are so used to trading polished decor with Quick China style mediocre Turkish food covered in soy sauce that they can no longer appreciate good food. Also, service was quick and friendly. I had the hot and sour soup, shrimp dumplings, and a beef dish with pepper, all were really tasty. My only complaint is in the beef dish they substituted the usual dried hot red peppers with fresh red peppers, my dish had just a few tiny pieces of the yummy dried pepper. :( The dish still tasted good though! Definitely coming back!!

Here, giant vishnus of Xian terra cotta soldiers tower over guests in the open plan dining room... as colored-lighting whisks you away to a bamboo garden. It's slightly creepy but cool points for the aquariums / runway, over which waiters walked and diners gawked. MAKE RESERVATIONS if you want a table during weekend evenings. My mate and I didn't have reservations but we arrived for a late supper. We were not disappointed to be seated under a bright spotlight. We could see our food. Customer service was more attentive (but not annoying) compared to the GOP wait staff. KUDOS! Prices are high, but there's little competition for upscale Asian fusion. Puuullease, Walk n Wok poses no competition. Though the menu features Chinese and Thai foods, I usually order sushi. #withdrawal my friend suggested we order the sushi moriawase. Given the selection, this sampler is worth its price. Nice presentation as well. I wanted to pair it with sake -- but the restaurant didn't have any. We settled on rose / rosado wine. :( I miss you, plum sake! Our waiter was polite and worked well with his teammates to keep our table tidy. Shortly after we ordered, we were brought skewered sesame chicken as well as a shot glass of apple cider. I suppose an amuse bouche -- but it's a long shot from my California standards. :/ BONUS: instead of the typical islak mendil (handi-wipes) diners get slightly warm, moist towels. :) This location has ramen noodles; my friend said the Bilkent venue does not. I will return to critique this offering. NEGATIVE: I don't dare to reach into that communal bowl of fortune cookies. :(
