I like the concept and ambiance of this place. It has a cool, casual vibe, with a variety of soups and premade sandwiches showcased behind glass displays. I so love that they have unsweetened fresh brewed iced tea! I ordered the grilled veggie sandwich: zucchini, squash, eggplant, pesto and mozzarella cheese served on an oatmeal type sliced sandwich bread. I requested it be warmed. I ate in. The sandwich was good, but this type of bread really is not the best pairing in my opinion. I would have chosen a French or Italian bread, or even a flatbread or foccia. I am bummed sandwiches cannot be made to order. The iced tea was great even without fresh lemon-they did not have any but kind staff asked if I wanted some lemon juice instead. Staff was friendly. The bathroom was very clean, but some of the tables and booths needed to be wiped down. There is a small parking lot and outside dining area. I may be back to grab an iced tea and may try the soups at some point, but think I will pass on the premade sandwiches.

Love that they post the ingredients right up front for you to see. Love that they offered to give me a taste. (Didn't need one - they are all great). Love the big picture of Jerry when you walk in. Soups are always delicious. Got all three to bring home. And one to enjoy while there. Had the Tuna sandwich once before. That too - was great. Don't miss this place. Great food. Great staff. Great vibe.

This is not a bad 3 star rating. I am an avid food reviewer, and I, Dan Hanis, believe this restaurant even with a 3 star rating is a great place to eat at. The restaurant created a great atmosphere for its customers. Unfortunately, my experience is not one I would deem 4 or 5 star worthy. I ordered the Do it Like Dan Soup along with the Spicy Chicken Burrito. The Do it Like Dan Soup was a cheddar bisque which I thoroughly enjoyed. On the other hand, my Spicy Chicken Burrito wasn't spicy and was worse than your average Qdoba burrito. I know what you're thinking, "Dan, why would you get a burrito at a soup and sandwich restaurant"? To that I say... A RESTAURANT IS ONLY AS GOOD AS ITS WORST ITEM ON THE MENU! God Bless America and God Bless Food. That is all. -Dan Hanis

Chef's Table has the best iced coffee in Connecticut. Their caramel flavoring is absolutely delicious with any milk. Although it's expensive, their chicken bacon ranch wrap is my go to sandwich when I'm in Fairfield. Their bacon egg and cheese is also great but you can unfortunately only order it before a certain time. Not only are their salads fresh, but they have a wide variety of toppings to choose from to create your own salad. The open garage door entrance is just as inviting as the employees and the eccentric decor makes adds to the welcoming environment.

I've always wanted to try this place and randomly popped in today for lunch. The place was cool and felt clean and comfortable. I was taken back by the prepared foods but I ordered a spicy chicken burrito anyways. I thought the sandwiches would be made in front of me to order. After they heated the burrito up, I took it home and was impressed with the big portion and fresh taste. The burrito had every ingredient I wanted. I will definitely be back to try their other sandwiches. P.S. I don't usually get banana bread, but they had some slices on the checkout counter and I decide to give it a try. Delicious!

Haven't been to chef's table in a few years- pleased to know it's still around in a cozy location on Post Road! Though this location is cozy and a bit more intimate, I really liked that it still carried the same charm as the original location- cool art/music decor and still a great selection of fresh salad and cooked food. I ordered the egg white CrossFit omelette with wheat toast (have hash brown to my friend ) and small black iced coffee. The omelette was filling! Never had sweet potatoes in an omelette before. Can't wait to come back next time I pass through Fairfield!

Nice vibes, music pumping, drinks flowing...Chris our server was PHENOMENAL! She was a huge part of our magical experience. I started off with the buffalo cauliflower. I will preface this by saying I'm not a big Buffalo flavor person, but I'm a vegetarian and didn't feel like getting my usual vegetarian app - brussel sprouts. I wanted to expand my palate that evening and surprisingly I actually really liked it. The amount of blue cheese was perfect for me (despite the reviews) as it would have made it too salty and greasy. Next was my entree: Modified Kettle Cooked Zoodles. As a vegetarian, I never have the highest expectations but I was blown away! Chris our server was so sweet to have this customized for me. We took the idea of hubby's Branzino sauce and added more veggies to the Kettle cooked Zoodle dish. It was so yummy! Hubby's Branzino: fish was well cooked, elegant flavors from the Puttanesca sauce with spinach and mashed potatoes were excellent! Faux-ito: I got two, the first was the classic, the second was a mix of strawberry and pineapple. Both delicious mocktails! The Forbidden Pear: hubby got this one. very balanced, not sticky sweet. I can't believe this gem is just sitting here in Fairfield. Not too far off from a night in the city. We will definitely be back!

As a recent Fairfield U grad, I have to give the grape 5 stars. If you were a Fairfield senior and…read moredid not go to the grape at least once a week, then I'm not sure what you did. In fact, you should just walk out to the light house during low tide and wait a few hours until you can't see the shore... I'm proud to be a regular at the grape, present during the school year on most Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. James H. makes a fantastic timeline about a typical grape-night. And Mike C... to my defense and the defense of my classmates, only about 10% of seniors fell under the tube top/gelled hair category. However, I can say that about 95% of us were blacked out before close. I was there a few times during the summer and I have to say, I'm very disappointed about the light crowd. Even though the students are gone, I figured locals and shoobies would pour in more frequently. Regardless, the grape is the epitome of the Fairfield U social scene. My night at the grape (after a hefty pregame at lantern point) would usually start with a few vodka 180's and a half a dozen house shots (which are only $1). Chris, the DJ, pretty much sticks to hip-hop all night. And even though Fairfield might be the least diverse campus on the East Coast, we know how to drink and embarrass ourselves through the art of dance, preferably right next to the dartboards. We also know how to waste money in games like Buck Hunter, Lobster Claw, and Bowling. On Tuesdays, most drinks are $2, and all the time $2 bud light bottles are hard to beat. I've never heard of another bar that supports a shitshow of a water/booze fight the night after graduation and gives out commorative t-shirts to their loyal Fairfield U senior customers. Sea Grape Cafe, I love you.
