Lucky for me, I've got Ford Dry Cleaners a hop skip and jump down the road - and they can usually turn it around in a day or two. Service is really good (though I never go in for anything but your basic dry cleaning) and the prices are on par. They always treat my babies gently and have always removed any specific stains I've brought to their attention - including one huge coffee stain on my cream Lover dress, which I was totally freaked out about. They also offer your usual bits and bobbins - zips, dyes, buttons and the like - as well as minor alterations, but I wouldn't really recommend them for anything but the super basic, super specific alteration, as they're not really set up for it and don't have a change room. But hey - they do one thing and they do it well.

But OH MY GOD it was perfect. They left a note on the dress saying there were a few spots left, but I couldn't see them. I was so ecstatic I could of kissed the lady serving me. Definitely the best $19 I have spent in my life. I'm generally not a dry-cleaning person. I usually put the washing machine on gentle and hope nothing shrinks. However, there are some special items that definitely need dry cleaning. I would most definitely recommend Ford. They are friendly, fast and do a brilliant job.

I like to do what's called a feedback sandwich in my reviews, where I remark on a good quality, follow it up with an area to improve, then end again on a positive quality. Let's see... What's something good I can say about this place....? It's in a convenient locator ion that's close to work, however this doesn't count for much since you're going to be late for work anyway because the staff like to keep people waiting. Speaking of the staff there is a serious attitude problem, as they love to let you know just how much of an inconvenience you being there is to them. I think that this place looking to get the pocket my name is in a pair of trousers replaced. I was charged $50 and asked to return in a week. Upon collecting my trousers I found for the pocket linings were not replaced, just the holes sewn up. This meant that I had to purchase linings and see them into the trousers myself only a week later. When trying to discuss this with establishment of the attitude went from cold and distant to hot and hostile very quickly! You do not want to pull these guys up on their mistakes! So many reviews from people with very similar stories, why are they still operating?

A week before Christmas I needed, well I wanted a new pair of shoes to wear with my Christmas outfit. I wasn't having any luck finding any new pairs of shoes, so when I went to Target I noticed the shoe repair place and thought it was worth a shot to bring in my favourite pair of shoes and see if they could fix them for me. They did! They were tearing on the bottom because I wear them so much, and they managed to make them walkable again. It was affordable and the service was friendly and efficient.

If I'm honest, it was a bit less than 30 minutes even and I was happy with the job. 6 months down the track and my leather boots are holding up wonderfully, even if I have thrashed them a bit! I noticed he also does key cuttings and sells the usual shoe protectants and goodies. For service that's quick, reliable and of high quality, if you're a local to the area, look no further than State Shoe Repairs, the gentleman that runs the little shop inside the Target Shopping Center, appears to have years of experience!

I have gone back to this store and I am impressed, I don't have the pants back yet but being open from 7:30am each week day through to 5:30pm is better than quite a few other places and it makes it easy for people working 9-5 to get there without having to leave work early. Pricing is the same $11 for pants clean plus $8 for the repair, still short of the $20 EFTPOS minimum but I'd be prepared to give a $1 tip to get there and support the local business rather than another that doesn't get the job done properly. If it wasn't for the interesting creatures you get to see in there I would probably try to dry my stuff at home with a hair-dryer. Firle Super Laundrette is conveniently located in Firle Plaza, so you can at least combine it with going to the supermarket. Overall I've always been satisfied with this place because I never had to wait for a dryer and they have a coin machine, which I need about 99% of the time I go to a laundrette. In terms of price and service I guess it's like everywhere else. Around $2 for 8 minutes in the dryer and you'll probably have to use it twice, maybe 3 times depending on what and how much you put in it. One time there seemed to be a problem with their machines and all the dryers (including stuff that came out of them) smelled of gas. Not very nice. But it seems that it was a one-off problem, so 4 stars for Firle Super Laundrette with their coin machine.

Amenities include: an internet kiosk, $3 espresso machine, vending machine, commonwealth atm and a large table to fold and organise. Applause, please! Located just down the road from me off Portrush Rd, this ensures I am there almost every week with another garment bag and pleading eyes. They are not very expensive and are very thorough in their work. Additionally, they are located right next to Marcellina and Blockbuster is just in the next complex over - clean clothes, pasta, and dvds all in one trip.
