Love this place. Best lunch place in the area for a sandwich. Try the Bearcat (warmed up).

Overpriced and staff is very rude. They flat out lied to us about having to go cups. We will NEVER be eating there again.

I had the Pesto Caprese pizza and it was amazing! The balsamic glaze added just the right amount of sweetness to bring together the different flavors. My husband had the NY steak and said it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive and told us how all the ingredients were locally sourced, which is very good to hear because we like to support local businesses. Lastly, the building is quite beautiful with the exposed brick interior walls. I'm not familiar with the local history so I'm curious as to what this building was originally? We will definitely come back and also check out the market next time.

So Bad It Was Almost Comical…read more My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our drive from Oregon to Seattle. The parking lot was completely full, so after circling around and eventually finding street parking, we figured the place must be popular. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the high point of the experience. The main restaurant was fairly full, so we were seated in a large, dark bar area in the back. And then... nothing happened. For more than 30 minutes. Eventually, a waiter appeared and took our order. Then another 30+ minutes passed before the food arrived. Somehow, even our iced tea didn't make it to the table until the food did. All told, we spent roughly an hour sitting at an empty table without so much as a beverage, and about 90 minutes from the time we arrived until we actually had food in front of us. At that point, the whole experience was becoming almost comical. We ordered a cod burger with fries, a Caesar salad, onion rings and an iced tea. The cod burger was okay. Nothing memorable, but edible. The Caesar salad was actually good. The fries, however, arrived cold, soggy and thoroughly greasy -- quite an accomplishment considering how long we waited for them. The onion rings apparently embarked on a separate journey altogether, because they never arrived. By then, we'd lost the will to ask about them and just gave up. The grand total for one cod burger with cold fries, a small Caesar salad and an iced tea? $40.00! We mentioned the long wait, forgotten food and other problems to our waiter. He was sympathetic and explained that they were short staffed, which we understand can make things difficult. But being short staffed doesn't make a 90-minute lunch, no drinks for an hour, cold soggy fries and forgotten food any less disappointing -- especially at those prices. By the end, we weren't even angry. The whole thing had crossed over into comedy. Needless to say, on future drives between Oregon and Seattle, we'll be finding a different midway lunch stop.

The smoker is onsite and all ingredients sourced from local farm or markets in the area. The owner Frank was very friendly gave some great suggestions even checked on us with drink refills. Such great service so rare anymore. We had the most amazing 3 cheese mac and cheese with Brisket the small was big enough! I'm so glad I up'd my salmon kiesh meal to also include the side of the salmon chowder. It was definitely the best chowder I've ever had, complete with flaked smoked salmon on top of a creamy and hearty salmon w/ potato soup. We were so full after our meal I would not normally order dessert. However, he did recommend that we may want to try his wifes amazing homemade carrot cake with the cream cheese icing (which I prefer over an overly sugary one) I am so glad we ordered a slice to go. I ended up having that for breakfast the next morning with coffee and it was out of this world so moist with crunchy nuts on the cream cheese icing. Yum! The cafe is located in downtown Chehalis, which is a cute town. They are completing updates to their 100yr old building. They have an upstairs loft with video games and a dozen tables connected to an artesian market downstairs, think gourmet foods, mead, craft items, fancy bloody mary mix, and they also sell smoked salmon, smoked cheeses in their cooler. I will definitely be back when heading thru Chehalis. What a find!

I think the name threw me off because it sounds like a seafood restaurant and I do not eat things that come from the ocean. But then I saw someone make a comment somewhere on an online post about this place and it's Mac and Cheese so off to Yelp I went to look it up. After reading the 30 something all 5 star reviews and their menu, I yanked my husband's arm, got in the car and beep beeped us straight there. What a gem of a place! We got to seat ourselves, plenty of open clean tables to choose from. We were greeted immediately with a friendly smile. I ordered a small mac and cheese with pulled pork and he got a smokehouse baker. We both got a side house salad. The food arrived quickly and it looked delicious! Then we dug in and it tasted better than it looked. Even though I got the small I still couldn't eat it all, it was a good sized portion. After we paid our bill via QR code, we looked around the shop they had set up inside. Local artists crafts, artisan snacks, cheeses and of course their smoked salmon for sale. I'm kicking myself for not buying something but I am not worried because we are already talking about going back! Just one thing to note, they are not a dinner spot, they do close at 5pm, 6pm on Friday and Saturday. It works for us my husband likes his dinner at 4. Thank you NWSS! Cant wait to become a regular of yours soon!

We were looking for a lunch spot to satisfy 3 different appetites. We noticed they closed within 15 minutes and really hoped they would serve us. We asked as we entered and the young man stayed absolutely! Off the bat the customer service was outstanding, he happily and enthusiastically discussed our menu interest items. We ordered a ham/fig panini, tuna sandwich, veggie wrap and a chocolate almond shake. Each item came with your choice of homemade potato salad, fresh fruit or chips. I chose the homemade potato salad-delicious! Creamy, contained a sweet pickle, mustard/mayo and egg. I ate the whole thing. The fresh fruit on my friend's plate were giant red seedless grapes, don't think I've ever seen them that big, had one and it was firm and tasty! As our meals were delivered the waiter said he would bring our dessert over when we were finished. My friend surprised us with the blueberry bread pudding. It was served heated,it was absolutely delicious. Wow. We hit the jackpot finding this place. What a wonderful cafe to have in this community! I noticed that the other side of the venue was a coffee/smoothie/shake service. All the staff we encountered were friendly, the venue appears to be in an historic building with giant windows that face the street. Highly recommend stopping in!
