I rang them up to double check…read more The conversation went like this; -Me: Hi, I believe I might have left my phone in one of your taxis. -Fareways: Was your driver white or asian? -Me: He was asian. -Fareways: We don't employ asian drivers therefore it wasn't us. -Me: Is that not a little racist? -Fareways: No it's not we just wouldn't employ them. The the man then hung up the phone. I couldn't believe the discrimination. I was pretty disgusted. Being white I can't fathom the hostility I would've felt had I been from an asian descent. It was gutting to hear someone speak so sinister. This prejudice is clearly a reflection of Fareways policies and views. Disappointing to say the least. Defiantly wouldn't book with Fareways!

Amount charged was 175 when this journey has never costed more than 100 gbp. I called to check what is the quote for same journey as new customer and I was given option of 100 gbp. When asked to refund because you have overcharged nearly double, I was told my guests should have asked for quote because there app fares are metered. I was expecting knowing they overcharged they will refund specially knowing I am one of the old customer , but I was told nothing can be done. I suggest you ask for quote if you do want to use them. Strongly recommend not to use them.

Absolutely incredible!…read more I was at lunch with my grandma and she received a phone call from my grandpa who was at his home in Oxford (45 mins from us). He had fallen and was in need of urgent escorting to hospital and was planning on driving himself. I called this service and within 20 mins they were at the house, they knocked on the door helped him to the car. On arrival at A&E the driver who was South African and whom we owe and thank greatly, escorted him to the reception himself. We arrived later and my grandpa told us of the lovely taxi driver that helped him. Also, I requested a phone call from the taxi service upon his arrival at the hospital and that was super helpful as he doesn't have a phone on him. The taxi driver had a blowout which he was incompetent at fixing and kept my wife in the car (illegal and dangerous) and asked me to help him. He had the wrong tools which meant we Couldn't change the tire and he made ZERO attempt to give us an alternative ride home via any other cab or service I actually had to call an Uber and pay another 60 pounds to pick us up on the side of the m25 and take us home. AND to add to this disasterous experience when we asked for a refund the office and the driver declined because we were 10 mins late to get in the taxi and we stopped to get a lucozade which we gave him one. When the taxi showed up my son needed help to walk to the taxi and as he got into the car the driver started to protest and insist that my son was drunk and proceeded to throw him out of his taxi! The kind men who were helping my son tried to explain to the driver that he was staff and was unwell but he was having none of it !!! This caused so much more distress to my son , I can't imagine how he must have felt! I would never recommend this company to anyone !

When they say they will be ten minutes, they are that or less. No more having to phone and ask how much longer will my cab be?(previous company). In most cases they are only 5 minutes. His wife booked B&H for us. The cab arrived on time - the driver was really pleasant and friendly & drove sensibly around the bends. The fare was considerably cheaper than another cab firm I had recently used from Southminster - the owner of the firm charged me £18 from opposite the pet shop to Bradwell!!!!!! A journey of only 7 miles. I will never use that company again. When we arrived we were waiting outside in the cold for 30 minutes before our taxi arrived! We called the company after 10 minutes of waiting and asked where it was, the person on the phone was very nice and said that they would call the car and find out where it was. Another 15 minutes went by and still no taxi. We called again saying that it was still not here and wanted to know where it was, by this point all of us were frustrated and cold. The person on the phone told us that when he called the car the driver said that he was there... we then looked around an empty car park. He then said that he would call the car again and then call us back. We then waited a further 5-10 minutes and the taxi FINALLY arrived. When he got there he didn't open any doors for us nor did he apologise for being late or explain why. Safe to say he did not get a tip and we will NEVER use this taxi company again. WORST TAXI EXPERIENCE EVER.
