The wait staff wasn't very friendly and appeared to be irritated that it took some time to review the extensive menu. One of the dishes we ordered (cashew chicken) was incorrect (we received cashew shrimp) and by the time we realized it the cook and the wait staff were eating their lunch and clearly didn't want to be bothered. The other dish, Szechuan pork was pretty good, but the pork was dry and didn't taste fresh. Other items, soup, egg rolls etc, were mediocre. The lady taking orders does not speak much English. She said "No-egg rolls"!. I pointed to the menu and said "Yes-egg rolls"! We got home and I guess she proved me wrong. No egg rolls! This restaurant could use some serious cleaning. We used to eat here a couple of times a month. We have decided to end our visits. The dirty door, floors and walls...just gross. You should see their bathrooms. I was only going to wash my hands. I was too afraid to touch anything. We did not eat the food we brought home. We order from here regularly and are never disappointed. Their sauces are very flavorful, and the meat is always tender and juicy. Far superior to other Asian restaurants in the area! We like that their sauces aren't over corn starched. I would highly recommend their Mongolian Beef or Hunan Beef. Their egg rolls are also fantastic. This is a really good Chinese restaurant on Oak Ridge highway. They have a small dining room and have a small buffet for lunch. They do a lot of takeout. The staff is friendly but the important thing is that the food here is great. It's one of my favorites in the Knoxville area. Try the Mala Chicken. I had the chicken hibachi. The vegetables were plentiful as well as the chicken but that's as positive as I can say. The chicken was overcooked/dried out, the hibachi came in a lot of liquid (not something I normally see with hibachi), and the flavor was extremely sweet like it was cooked in honey and water only. Clearly someone who left a review doesn't know about a typical Chinese takeout restaurant. They offer you seating, but they are mostly take out. So no they do not provide cups or "service." Super fast. Super friendly. I miss the kid that moved up north, but the new one is learning. The food is delicious, not greasy. My review is really a 2.5. Take out is really the only option though seating is available. We were on the road and without a place to bring take out home to, so we opted to sit at one of the available tables. Unfortunately, the only drink options were canned sugary drinks and bottled water and the staff lacked reusable cups for tap water. Don't think I've experienced that before. The crab wontons were tasty and for a good value. I had the sesame chicken and my boyfriend had orange chicken, but it was tough to tell the difference due to the consistency of the sauces. The large cup of dipping sauce. . . I think it was supposed to be sweet and sour. . . Was also the same consistency. A bit gross. This is your typical chinese restaurant, which I am almost convinced follows some kind of generic template with a blank line for for the name. That said, the food isn't bad. I cannot speak about the buffet or dine in service, every time I've been there was to grab take out. My favorite dish may be the teriyaki chicken sticks from the appetizer menu. read more

Yes, I gave 5 stars to a common chinese food chain. This place has the standard chinese fare as other small places, but they have a few others things that give them a star-edge in my mind. First, the staff. These are some of the friendlist people out there. The young man who works the front is happy all the time despite being there all the time. And he remembers his customers and their families. Second the food is good. I know it is standard cuisine, but that should count for something. Third, I have never received a wrong order. Compared to other restaurants I have visited this is an accomplishment. Last, they have a buffett. it is a small lunch buffet from 11-2 daily but it is only $5.99, even on Sunday. I don't eat enough at the big places to justify a $10+ price. it's a good place. read more

The food has gone downhill in the past year. They have different people at the counter so perhaps they've had a management or ownership change. The food seems lower quality then it was in the past.
