The tailoring team here is so amazing. I recently got married and had some complicated alterations. I lost almost 20 pounds since buying my dress. They took it in nearly 5 inches and made it look amazing. They also had to slightly shorten my dress, which consisted of 15 layers of tulle. I had to go back for multiple fittings and they were always warm, welcoming and patient with me. I will continue to use them as my tailor and highly recommend them for both wedding dresses and general tailoring. They're great! read more

I went to Cherry Creek tailor after being referred by a family friend to get a bridesmaid dress shortened. When I went in the first time, the main guy was really friendly, helpful, and it was an overall good experience. My mom then went to pick it up for me since I was working that day, when I tried it on at home it was too long; below my knee when it was supposed to be a few inches above the knee. So I figured I could go in and get it fixed, not a big deal, mistakes happen. When I told him what happened, he was so rude and talked to me like a 10 year old. He kept saying that this isn't their fault, we don't make mistakes like this, and basically implying that I was the one to blame. I know that I would not have agreed to the length that it ended up being. I wasn't rude, was probably too nice, apologized and said it was just a misunderstanding. I work retail so I know what it's like to be treated poorly. He seemed unable to admit that he made a mistake. There was another customer in the store too, and it felt like he was berating me, I was made to feel like this was all my fault. I was so uncomfortable and couldn't wait to leave. I should have walked out right then and there and said I would take my business elsewhere, I wish I had now. I have never been treated so poorly in a retail situation as I was at Cherry Creek Tailor. I walked out of the store and started crying. I can now say that a tailor made me cry. yay! read more

I guess this was kind of my own fault for not realizing I was being taken. Bought a suit for a job and had never been to a tailor before. The alterations totaled about $200 which seemed a bit high being that the suit was $150. I needed it for the interview, so I just paid it. My boss, coworkers and friends all told me I had been duped. Bought another suit, same style, different color and went to a different tailor. $75 out the door. Safe to say, I won't be going back. read more

This place is the real deal: These folks are friendly and professional. They understand how to tailor nice clothing, and respect what the customer wants. Sometimes you won't get your stuff back for 2+ weeks, but it's worth the wait. I've tried other tailors, occasionally with disastrous results (one, also in Cherry Creek, actually ruined a new jacket). Recently I had some jeans hemmed at Nordstrom (the type where they maintain the original frayed hem, a fairly expensive operation)... it turned out OK, but I'll never take my jeans anywhere but Cherry Creek Tailoring again. read more

Always attentive to detail. Has done several suits for me and on the recent one HE was not quite satisfied with the first run at the pant leg and redid it to perfection. I recently moved and was looking for a more convenient place to take clothes for alterations and found this place. I took two dress shirts to have the sleeves altered. They were very rushed in looking at my shirts, and not the least bit personable, but I went forward. That should have been my sign to go somewhere else. When I got the shirts back, they had shortened the sleeves on one of them too much. They also bunched fabric in the wrong place and made the two sleeves no longer match. They look ridiculous now. I am headed back to my other tailor. read more

I've been going to this tailor for several years and they are fantastic. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the high quality alterations they perform. They are also invaluable in helping figure out how to alter a garment to make it look in style and custom to you. In other words, they have a very good eye for what looks good. They're always friendly and get the job done quickly. (The person who said she was disrespected by the person greeting her is probably just one of those people who always feels slighted and aggrieved because I've never had esven the slightest of issue in the many many times I've been there) This is a family owned business, and if you're ever in Boulder, you can check out Boulder Custom Tailoring, also owned by the same family -- they do excellent work there too. I've had numerous items altered, including the following, all with excellent results: -bridesmaid dresses - full alteration -men's suit -dress hems -jeans and trousers hemmed -broken stitches repaired in jackets, etc. -suit coats - full alteration -intricate repair of a lace-like detail that stretched and misformed on a hanger (I still don't know how they managed to fix it -- it's looks flawless like new!) I cannot say enough good things about this place! The week before my wedding I tried on my wedding dress and it no longer fit. I guess I had lost a bunch of weight and it was now way too big. I called all over Denver trying to find a place that could alter it in just 4 days. Every place I called said they could not do it that quickly. Then I called Cherry Creek Tailoring and they told me to come in that day. I was very nervous dropping my dress off since I could not find too much information about them online. When I went in they assured me that they could do it and have it done by Wednesday. When I went to pick up my dress it was absolutely perfect. They did such an amazing job on my dress and the turn around time was amazing. I didn't think the price of alterations was too bad either. Cherry Creek Tailoring and Alterations is by far the best tailor I've found in the Denver area. They are friendly, and their alterations are amazing. Well worth the price, which is also quite reasonable. I recently took them a pricey suit I had purchased. To shorten the skirt, they completely removed the bottom ruffle, shortened the skirt, and added the ruffle back on. And it looks as perfect as it was coming from the store. I found the male that runs this place to be rude and unprofessional! The stitching came undone after a few months on a couple of pairs I have him hem. I noticed after my last visit I still had a ticket in my wallet so I went to the store to see if they still had the pants. When you get you pants they never match up the ticket with the pants so I did this just for good measure. The male guy that runs this place yelled at me for not properly giving him the tickets...when in fact his mother gave me my pants and she did not take the time to match up the tickets to the pants causing confusion and me to get yelled at....I will never go here again! read more

Ok here is the deal... I know that a good tailor can be pricey but this place is ridiculous. I took in three pants, one hemming only, the second taking in the waist and the third letting out the waist. I usually dont have a problem waiting either but 4 weeks for three items is crazy. When I came back one item had to be redone (another 3 weeks) and the hemmed item wasnt even great. The bill $97. I have no idea how she calculated such a high price. I know a good tailor as I have one in southern california who does an amazing job with everything and doesnt make me choose between rent and well fitting clothing. Keep searching denver!!! read more

Amazing tailoring. I got a dress hemmed and they put a seam on it better than the original. Pants came out perfect and they used original hem... but you can't tell they were shortened at all. Very friendly. They may be a few dollars more than other places, but not unreasonable, and definitely worth it. They have parking in front too. read more

I can't speak to the tailoring, however, the man that answered the phone was horribly rude. Rather than listen to what I was asking to see was possible, he spent more time raising his voice and interrupting me every time I spoke. By the time the call was over he was yelling and acting as if I had bothered him with my inquiry. Extremely poor first impression. read more

I had bought a blazer from J Crew because I loved the fabric and lining. The fit, however, was awful. Boxy and way bigger than the size 6 it claimed to be. Maybe it was just the style of the piece, but I wanted it changed. Dramatically. So I took myself and jacket to Cherry Creek Tailoring and they had at it. The added lots of darts and pinned back a ton of fabric, telling me to come back in two weeks. The jacket I received back was exactly what I wanted. Fit beautifully, the alterations couldn't even be seen... it was like a whole new piece! It was not cheap ($45) to get a "new" jacket made. I wouldn't spend that sort of money on anything other than an investment piece/something I plan on wearing for years. But in this case, it was totally worth it and the job they did was beautiful. read more

This place saved the day for me! I have a 50s style dress with tule under the skirt and part of it was ripped. This is a complicated fix and I was turned away by 2 other places. On top of that, I needed it in 2 days for a wedding out of state. Not only was it ready when I needed it, it looked beautiful and the charge was minimal. I was appreciative that I felt undercharged! I recently moved to Denver and didn't know how to find a seamstress but to look online; so that's what I did, and ended up taking my wedding dress here to be tailored. I wanted to write this post not to dissuade people from using this tailor but rather to provide information. My dress really didn't need much work so I was anticipating paying around $200. When I walked into this business it seemed nice enough, I was ushered into a fitting room to try my dress on, I needed help zipping the dress up and there were no females available to help so a man zipped me up which felt a little uncomfortable. I also noticed the floor was pretty dirty and I didn't like my dress dragging on it. Two tailors started pulling and pinching my dress (both of which were men and neither of which introduced themselves) after about 5 minutes of incomprehensible chatter they told me it would be $500 to get my dress altered. I felt so overwhelmed the whole interaction and the price that I quickly changed out of my dress and left. I did not leave my dress for them to alter because I wanted to get a second opinion on the price. After going to another tailor this past weekend I was reassured that I made the right decision to not get my altered at Cherry Creek Custom Tailor. I am paying $280 for EVERYTHING to be fixed on my dress at a different tailor. read more

The alterations were extensive since I had lost some weight and had bought the suits a little larger due to their bargain prices. They look great! I had a few jeans that got hemmed from Cherry Creek Tailoring. They did a really good job on my jeans. 1 jeans was a little short for my liking but they were happy enough to lengthen it a little bit. I first went to Cherry Creek Tailors to see if they sold tuxedos. The man kindly suggested a few spots in the area. After purchasing it, I brought it in for some tailoring. The main tailor asked me to try it on. I change into the tuxedo and his assistant pins me up. I had already shown my tuxedo to a friend that knew where the alterations should be made. He suggested messing with the body of the suit that clearly didn't need work. He quickly showed me it was going to cost $153. I knew this seemed like a ripoff, so I asked if he could do it for less. He quickly turned into an arrogant douchebag and blamed me for losing a customer while talking to him. Not to mention he asked where I was from--as if I came from another planet. I said to him "you clearly don't want my business", to which he replied, "I don't want your business." Gladly walked out, and went to Duman's in Capitol Hill where the staff could not have been nicer, and didn't suggest unnecessary alterations. There's a reason it's been around for 50 years. Best of all, they spent a lot more time with me and charged only $65 for what needed to be done. I saw other young successful people and a server at one of Denver's top steakhouses getting tailored while being there. You're paying for a great location at Cherry Creek Tailors and an arrogant tailor. Will gladly not return. read more

Brides: Avoid! Unless you're interested in terrible customer service and paying DOUBLE what other places charge. I'm from Denver and getting married in Denver, but I currently live in DC, so I booked an appointment in advance for the weekend I was going to be home. When I walked in, they ushered me into a cramped fitting room without so much as a hello. They were busy, so the tailor quickly marked up my dress in about 10 minutes, while helping three other people at the same time who were there to get their pants hemmed. After marking up my dress, they told me to change, and the guy at the front counter (see other reviews) was shaking his head and tallying up all that needed to be done on his calculator. Drum roll please... $980! For a hem, a bustle, and taking in the sides of the torso. That seemed a little steep to us - and I'm sure he could read the shock on our faces - so he then proceeded to berate us in a very condescending tone about how much work needed to be done and that that was how much alterations cost, I should have factored it into my dress budget, etc. To make things "better" he took me in the back to show me the costs of other wedding dresses, which ranged in price from $600 - $1,800! He made us feel awful. My sweet mother may or may not have cried. We decided to walk away, and so he charged us $20 for the "fitting." I took my dress back on the plane with me to DC, went to one of the most reputable tailors in Georgetown, and they are doing the SAME work for $470. read more

The man with the accent and ponytail pinned a simple black skirt for me about a month ago to be a pencil skirt shape. I picked it up and was not sure what they did to the skirt - so I took it back, since I had already paid $40 for the alterations. When I went back he instructed another man to pin the skirt so that it would be a pencil skirt shape. Today when I picked it up he was extremely rude to me. He told me that it is impossible to make a pencil skirt shape out of my Ann Taylor skirt and that I must take it back. I still wasn't clear if the skirt had ever been tailored at all, but I mentioned that I had prepaid $40. That was when he got really rude and asked for "any card I wanted so he could give me money." He insisted that he would never make such a mistake, very loudly so that everyone in the store could hear him yelling at me. I have never before written an online review - he was that rude. read more
