When I showed up from my appointment I asked again when I checked in and was told they would take my insurance. Submitted insurance, forms via my phone which was very appreciated. And they were extremely patient with me. They even offered the option of same day appointments!! On the day itself- not much waiting was needed. I was the first appointment of the day. The lady who triaged me was very gentle and sweet- I did forget her name though. She also helped with xrays and blood pressure taking. Nerves got the better of me. I'm extremely skittish when it comes to dental appointments. Appreciated that the dental chair allowed me to look out the window to calm myself down. My dental hygienist - Kayla was delightful. Very gentle- i was expecting pain- never once did I feel pain. Carson- dental tech was also very calming. - he assisted with both xrays and orthopantograms (panoramic) and also applying fluoride. Last and not least- i appreciate the wonderful and calming Dr Louis Hedlund. Every step of what he was going to do was explained. Never once did i feel compelled to do something I didnt want to. ( some clinics oversell you stuff). They give you informed options. He is also very knowledgeable and very personable. Apart from some chairs and cabinets looking a little dated, everything was clean and bright. Check out and rebooking was a breeze. A month later, it was causing sharp internal pain and sensitivity to cold. When I went back in, he gave it a 30-second glance, did a bite test, and immediately blamed my bite -- no X-ray, no cold test, no real effort to investigate. When I explained the pain felt internal, he cut me off with "Oh, you don't trust the professional?" -- arrogant and defensive from the start. I calmly tried to understand what he was seeing because it felt like we weren't even on the same page. Instead of a conversation, he kept claiming I was "arguing" simply because I was asking for clarity and solutions for a problem he clearly didn't want to deal with. It got worse when he pulled up a picture of my tooth, pointed to the wrong part, and tried to gaslight me into believing I had told them it was the back, when I'd clearly said the front from the start. When I asked the assistant to confirm what I said, he called me "petty" and kicked us out. Their office coordinator, Haley, wasn't any better. When I reached out hoping for accountability, she told me not to expect an apology since I was no longer a patient. She gave a weak, obligatory apology on their behalf but made it clear she needed to "hear their side" -- as if any part of this was acceptable or up for debate. That kind of leadership sets the tone for a practice, and it shows. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. This office cares more about ego than patient care, and their professionalism is nonexistent.

I was treated so badly at another place and they almost seemed like they made it there personal mission to right that wrong and I couldn't be more grateful and humbled by how they have treated me. When you go to these people you become family to them and they make it their business to get your teeth or rather mouth in the best shape it can possibly be in. I will never go anywhere else as long as I live in this area. And they won't charge you for something that you don't need. They understand the value of a dollar and that people do or don't have insurance, so they work with you on that also. There is literally nothing bad that I can say about my experience with any of the people that has worked on me, and that has been quite a lot of them so far. I have to say that I love them all like family already. On your first visit they take your picture, on your second visit when you walk in the door the receptionist calls you by your first name before you have a chance to say who you are! That is how good they are. And they are genuine people, not someone who asks how you are because they have to be polite. I am not a very social or outgoing person, and I haven't lived here but going on four years. I have two friends because I don't trust people easily. But these people put me to ease right away and I trust everyone that has worked on me. I also would say that I consider the receptionist to be my third friend. For me you would be saying that is more than a five star, and Dr. Plooster who is now semi-retired, I can't even begin to tell you what he has done for me. He has given me a confidence back that I lost a long time ago. Dr. Hoffman took over and has learned from Dr. Plooster and I have to say that he is also a pleasure and ladies a very single (I think) and handsome man. I am old enough to be his mom, but he is going to be a force to behold and I can't wait to see what he does now and in the future. If you haven't gotten yourself a dental facility then you had better hurry up and try to get in here because they will be full very soon!

Though it typically takes a month to or so to get an appointment, the office staff will call you within a week or two with availability if you are on the list. Very well run and efficient system. The hygienists are professional, polite, and gentle, as are the dentists, and the facility is nice. If you are looking for an appointment, esp. on a short notice, Oceans is the way to go!
