I ordered the Turkey dinner($21). This comes with soup, a garden salad, a cinnamon roll, a regular roll, Turkey (obviously), stuffing, vegetable (corn), potato (Mashed), dessert (Cherry Pie), and a beverage (Cherry Ade). Everything was good! I was expecting so much more though. I've had better of just about everything. The mashed potatoes were the best food item. Funny enough the best thing was the Cherry Ade, which was FANTASTIC! Wow was it good. The service was a little up and down. It was very friendly, however they ignore you when not bringing food. I had to ask for refills, even though it was obvious my glass was empty. I know places are short staffed, but work smarter not harder! Overall a 3 star review. This place has been around forever and have driven past it for years, and I finally stopped a few months ago and was glad that I did. It is cute inside, kinda dated but in an old skool way with good service. If you are a fan of cherry's, this is the place to go to! I ordered a delicious cherry chicken almond salad (tbh, it could've used more mayo), but got a good portion for the $ and they give you fruit, and a cherry muffin too. I would've loved to write a review but we didn't actually get to eat anything here... We arrived around 6:45 on a Saturday and the place was decently busy. We were sat after just about ten minutes at a patio table. We were excitedly browsing the menu and checking reviews to help us decide what to get. We waited and waited, while the table next to us was visited twice by a server, who never said a word to us. After waiting 15-20 minutes without being acknowledged by anyone we decided just to go, since after that amount of time it was just gonna be awkward. We walked around to the front door and picked up a package of cinnamon rolls and two of the giant cherry chocolate chip cookies. The cookies were really great, but the cinnamon rolls were just ok, with really dry dough and no gooey center; I'd call them sticky buns versus cinnamon rolls. I made some cream cheese frosting at home which improved the experience quite a bit. Not sure we'll give this place a second chance! read more

Whenever I go to this part of upper Michigan we have to stop here. I love everything cherry which they have in abundance. Let me start with the cherry pie which seems to be everyone's favorite. Oddly this was not my favorite from them but I do love cherry pie. I thought it was a little tart and I like mine a little more on the sweet side. This place was amazing! It is a great place to go for home cooking! This was my first time there and it did not disappoint. It was very cool to see that this place has been around for 100 years. You can tell that quality is important to this place and they have been doing it since day 1. I loved that the placemats were old pictures of back in the day at the restaurant! I loved perch and when I saw that it was on the menu I was very excited. I got the dinner portion and man was it good. I started out with the vegetable soup and it was very good. Then I got a salad and they brought out a cinnamon roll and a fresh baked roll and WOWZA! The cinnamon roll was amazing. The salad was just the right amount and the ranch was great. The roll was just as good as it looks! Then the perch came out and it was 3 large pieces with fries and broccoli on the side. The perch was everything that I had hoped for and the tartar sauce was amazing as well. If they have it I recommend getting it. I topped it all off with a fudge sundae and it was great. It was real fudge not chocolate syrup like some places like to call fudge. If you are in the area make sure to stop here because it is good food and GREAT service! read more

($4 each) I got the Turkey dinner which came with 2 rolls, soup AND salad, dessert & a drink ($20) I really enjoyed the turkey vegetable soup, the rolls were fresh and warm. The turkey & gravy were pretty bland. The gravy was almost clear... I used a lot of salt and pepper. Husbands burger came with chips for $10 - he said it was okay. Son got a kids meal that was a few chicken nuggets, apple sauce & a drink $8 -he was still hungry after. The boys shared the cherry chip iced cream ($8) and loved it. Me and my family love to visit up north every year and cherry hut is always and the top of our list to visit. We've been coming back to cherry hut for four years and every year we have a great experience. This year we got the turkey plate(small portions) and the turkey pot pie, both meals were amazing. The turkey dinner was a taste of thanksgiving in August and came with turkey, gravy, potatoes( baked, mashed , or fries), carrots, cranberry jam, and a roll on they side, it was excellent, the turkey was juicy and everything was well made. The turkey pot pie was great and was stuffed with turkey potato's carrots peas and gravy and was topped with Minnie biscuit. They service was quick and the servers were very kind and helpful. Overall cherry hut is just a great place to stop in for a bite and i would definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the area. read more

Don't get the hype. I ordered a bowl of soup and the smallest cup I've ever seen was delivered. When I asked if it was a bowl, the waitress replied yes. I told her to take it back and I wasn't paying 6.95 for that small portion. Her response was "I don't set the prices". She should have just taken it away and let me order something else. Just a fantastic Northern Michigan gem. Super clean and simply decorated in everything cherries... the staff are all very clean and sharply dressed. The food is good old-fashioned comfort food. A nice break from the current trend of all the Artsy-Fartsy, hipster, nothing but garlic food.... We were not very hungry when we stopped in, but I can't pass thru the area without a taste of the Cherry Hut. They have a fantastic Turkey dinner plate but it was just to big to eat and we were traveling and didn't want leftovers in the car... I've heard of a bacon-themed restaurant in NYC where, apparently, every single menu item somehow incorporates bacon into the recipe. Why do I mention this? Because, for the longest time, I was under the impression that the Cherry Hut offered a similar experience, but with cherries! Turns out... it does not, which makes me a little sad. I've driven past many times, because my family has made a yearly trip up to Sleeping Bear Dunes for most of my life, but I had never been until this year. I've honestly been a little creeped out by the weird cherry man on their sign. Haha Turns out they seem to specialize in good old fashioned comfort food, which is nice, but didn't seem very unique or special in any way. I wanted to try something that I wouldn't be able have anywhere else, so I had the cherry chicken salad croissant (one of the few things that did feature cherries!), which was absolutely delicious. The tartness and sweetness of the cherries added so much! Granted, there was SO MUCH chicken salad that I was only able to eat about half of it... but still delicious. I finished with the cherry pie a la mode, and Oh. My. Goodness. It was delicious. Unbelievable. Words cannot describe how perfect it was I'm not sure if I will be back for a meal again: nothing on the menu excited me that much... but I will definitely be back for more cherry pie.
