Cherry Village has the best food in the Meridian area! I've been coming to Cherry Village for at least the last 10 years and it never disappoints. Their service is quick when you eat inside and the service is quick when you call for food pick up. Their restaurant is always clean and their servers are always so friendly. Still loving this place. The food is great the customer service is great and the price is very affordable if you order at the restaurant. I was gonna order through YELP or DoorDash and pick it up since the place is only 3 miles away. When I had my order completed on YELP the total amount due seemed really high and remember this was not a delivery order, I was picking it up. So I canceled the YELP order which totaled up to $188 and instead I went an ordered the exact same food at the restaurant. The difference in price was astonishing! My total when ordering at the store was $133. I saved $55 by ordering at the restaurant! Wow! If you're gonna order online don't use YELP or DoorDash. The food here is really solid. The orange chicken is simple and tastes perfect. The General Tsao's is really tasty as well (wish it had a little more of a kick to it though), and the wontons are pretty good too. The service is great, very friendly, very attentive, but this place is a better place for lunch than dinner, it is a little expensive with the dinner menu. read more

The good: The taste was ok. So many places use bad seasoning or sauces. I had the general tso and beef on a stick. Both tasted great The bad: the texture of both was awful. The steak was chewier than most beef jerky brand I've ever bought. And the chicken was shaped like mini hot dogs and was so dry... I couldn't even tell if it was white or dark meat. Just dry and chewy. Again... the taste/recipe is on par... but hard to power through how it was cooked. I wish I could give better thoughts as this restaurant is very close to me.... Would not recommend. Overpriced compared to other local Chinese restaurants and the food is... odd. Standard dishes tasted nothing like what I'd expect and dishes were prepared oddly (for example, the hunan chicken was heavily breaded and tasted nothing like hunan chicken.... I'm still convinced it was orange chicken even after calling about it. And the cream cheese wonton tasted like Alfredo - just strange). Do not recommend - save yourself the money and go elsewhere. read more

Service was a bit rushed and then absent but wasn't necessarily bad. Food arrived hot and fresh with plenty of flavor. They have nice lunch specials where the entree comes with two appetizers, a spring roll and a crab Rangoon, plus a soup. I chose the orange chicken lunch special. I enjoyed the hot and sour soup quite a bit due to the slightly smoky flavor it had and it was accompanied by crispy soup noodles. The spring roll/egg roll was unusually oily and nothing special but I really liked the soft and slightly sweet crab Rangoon. My orange chicken had zero orange flavor but it had a nice basic flavor to it with a good amount of garlic. The chicken was all breast meat and was battered in a fairly crunchy coating. The chicken was fairly tender but well cooked. My mom who prefers softer meat noted that she found it a bit harder to eat. The fries rice was basically flavorless but was tender and had egg in it too. I never eat much of the rice because there's plenty of carbs in the batter but I appreciated that it had obvious egg in it. I enjoyed the food enough to visit again. The style of sesame/orange/general's chicken was one of my favorite kinds with longer shaped chicken breast pieces so that would draw me in. We were long time customers of Cherry Village, always ordering the Vietnamese combo noodle bowl. The last time we ordered the meat/protein content was so small we were left hungry. At $17 bowl, we won't be back as there are plenty other places out there for less and a better value. Very disappointing! read more
