Check their website for the requirements and process. I was driving and going through the drive-thru line when I first started. Depending on how long the line is, it can take about 1 hour average. I don't drive anymore, so they do offer to assist walking clients. It still takes about an hour average also depending on how many clients there are before you. Unfortunately, they usually only have 1 volunteer to process new clients and their walking clients. I have waited 2.5 hours once because of this to get food assistance. When I was driving, I did see on 2 occasions where a car client wanted to cut in line, but their security wouldn't allow them. On the side for walking clients, I have seen 1 female volunteer that wasn't very friendly towards clients. Otherwise, I've had good experiences here.

The clothing closet to me is better the going out searching for clothes,maybe because you can feel the love that was put into it being provided. If you get there and in line before they open it's your best bet at getting the best of the free bread and baked goods they set out . It's the only thing I miss about being homeless, is getting to see them once a week. If you aren't homeless they will allow people in every two weeks. I got not even a hint of housing in 3 months I waited. I hired a social worker from outside of St. Mary's and I was brutally thrown out of "the program". This is unprofessional, and if I wanted to be dealing with a highschool-level pride club, then I'd go to a highschool. This is a center run by adults and I expect even the minimum level of professionalism, but I guess not. You've got people who reschedule their entire work weeks for these counseling appointments. Every week you put off his appointments pushes back when he can finally start T and be the man he wants to be. That's not something I can forgive easily.

I lived in a very violent part of the city, so going to a place to escape all that while being able to study, hang out with friends and make new ones was amazing for my youth development. Fast forward to now, and I had move here to Central Valley with my family, after finding out through a Chamber of Commerce flyer we had one right here in Manteca. I went over to meet the staff and learn about what this location had to offer. For a membership price of $60 a year, my kids had access to homework assistance, STEM activities, Taekwondo 2 day of the week, Local Sports such as basketball, soccer and football. You couldn't find a better placed $60 dollars, and I know this as my children spend way more on Robux and Fortnite skins. I had also learned the staff is trained to handle children with ASD and ADHD which is another plus for those parents who aren't certain about putting their children in an unknown setting. They allow a day pass trial before you sign up so if youre curious to see how your kids about it, have them check it out and then talk about it on the car ride home. There are tremendous social benefits to being a member of the Boys and Girls club, and this location's staff is very friendly and welcoming.
