We've had such a wonderful experience at Chesterbrook Academy Herndon! From the very beginning, the Principal has been warm, communicative, and truly invested in creating a safe and supportive environment for the kids. She takes the time to get to know each family, which really makes the school feel like a community. The teachers are incredible--patient, caring, and full of energy. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do. Our child looks forward to going each day, and we've seen so much growth in confidence, learning, and social skills. The curriculum strikes a great balance between academics and play, and the updates we receive throughout the day give us real peace of mind. It's clear the staff here go above and beyond to make sure every child is engaged, nurtured, and celebrated. We couldn't be happier with our decision to enroll at Chesterbrook Academy Herndon and highly recommend it to other families. read more

My kids and I absolutely love Chesterbrook Academy. We moved to Herndon a few years ago. My kids (now 4 and 6) experienced a lot of change right when they started at Chesterbrook (pandemic, parents divorcing, new family dynamics, older kid starting kindergarten) and I couldn't be more thankful for the extra love and support that the teachers at Chesterbrook provided. Both of my kids have pretty strong personalities, and while I was the panicking single parent wondering where I went wrong - the staff at Chesterbrook continued to be patient with my kids, and assure me that everything was okay. While the cost is a bit high, it's pretty comparable to other centers in the area and the quality of care you receive is worth every penny. Also, the location is great. If you are looking for a daycare, I highly recommend checking out Chesterbrook. When you walk in for a visit, take a moment to observe how comfortable and happy the kids are. That alone speaks volumes. If you have kids who will be in pre-K soon, you will have the pleasure of having them in Ms. Lidia's class. Lidia is a gem - truly one of a kind. She went above and beyond for my daughter - on her great days, and her really low days. She was my daughter's comfort and safe space - and now when she visits from kindergarten to pick up her little brother, she gets SO excited when she gets to see Ms. Lidia and give her a big hug. Lidia is incredible with her students, and so very patient. Really, truly, one of a kind. read more

After nearly 6 years of having our two children in Chesterbrook '222' we moved our family from Herndon to Aldie. We loved this school, the teachers, and our time there. For about 9 months we still drove our little guy nearly an hour to go there. He turned 3 and though we love the 3s room it was time to transition him to a school where he could get another hour or two a day of instruction and play rather than spending it commuting from Aldie to Herndon. Transitioning him to the new Chesterbrook Aldie was one of the hardest decisions that I have had to make as a parent. Over the years we fell in love with this school, the administration, and the teachers. Everyone is invested in the children and their growth and safety. I have yet to find a better school with the love, laughs, and joy that we shared with the wonderful ladies, and previously one gentleman, in Herndon. read more

Our son has flourished at Chesterbrook. They take care in getting to know each of their students and meeting their personal needs. One of the aspects we liked about Chesterbrook in Herndon vs others we toured is the safety measures they have in place. They have keypads on all doors and a front desk person interacting with everyone who enters. They also make sure to add variety to the curriculum and even food menu. The kids get plenty of outdoor time, play, reading, art projects and social interaction. read more

We LOVE this location and this school! My wife and I have placed both of our children here and the team there. We are very particular with regards to our little ones and this school has been a great fit with a good value proposition. The current Principal and her staff do a great job with regard to staffing and planning for our kidlets' transition to their next room. This is important as children are sensitive to teacher change. There had been some churn in the past but there is a good stability now and that is what counts. All of the staff there are absolutely amazing though I do miss some of the staff that has moved on. The school curriculum, school policies, and school leadership have worked hard to provide a good education in a safe and healthy environment. I digress. A little about the rooms. Infant 1 (The Baby Room) - Babies 6w-12m are in this room and it's a 1:4 ratio as mandated by the State/Commonwealth but sometimes it is 3 babies to a teacher or 2 babies to a teacher. These ladies are absolutely spectacular and most of them have been in this room for years. They love my little men and that is what counts. We love them. The lead teacher runs the show and helped us become much better parents. Occasionally there is a sibling or two or a Infant 2 child in the room early in the morning or late in the evening when it is safe. Infant 2 - Babies 12-18m are in this room and the lead teacher in here helped us considerably with our first. Again, it is tough being a new parent and not everything is in a book. The former principal gave her a hard time about taking the time to answer our questions, but that person is no longer here. That made a huge difference to us, as first time parents. The new principal realizes that and encourages her staff to help us. She also has an open door policy. Also, the lead teacher would take a lot of pictures of our child interacting with his world. Toddlers - 18-24m - This room has seen a lot of churn but the lead teacher is amazing and helped us deal with our first's temperament issues. His terrible 2s were a few months early. His motor skills were greatly improved and the teachers work with them. The downside to this is that he learned to chuck heavy things. We, and the teachers, worked with him to be safe and learn to express emotion. Beginners - 2 years - The staff in here has experienced some churn but the teachers that backfilled were good. My son's ability to comprehend and ask questions as well as learn his ABCs, grammar, and numbers started here. Intermediates - 3 years - This room has really been where my son has opened up to learning. We work with him but the teachers in the past and in the 3s do an amazing job teaching about problem solving, puzzles, working as a team, presenting (show and tell), and being little leaders. Pre-K 1 and 2 - My son occasionally visits these rooms towards the end of the day. The teachers in these rooms are great and my son's new favorite is in the Pre-K 2 room. There used to be a young man in here who was showing my son how to dribble a basketball when my son was 2. We can't wait to see what he does when he gets a little older. Sick policy - Sometimes people have sick kids and the school is good about picking up on it and enforcing policy to prevent a pandemic. Take your kids to the doctor, people! We use Virginia Pediatric, call at 7AM and are usually out by 8AM with either guidance for the days off and a note for my work OR guidance that it's not cold related (allergies, asthma, etc). A runny nose happens but green snot is snot normal, skin bumps are not normal, raspy voices and barking like a seal if you don't have asthma is not normal. We are concerned about our children as well as our children's little friends. I don't want to be the Dad that causes a dozen of my son's little friends to get sick if I can keep him from school for a few days. Some parents in here are doctors, physician assistants, nurses, have other medical training, or have kids and know the signs; they won't hesitate to raise a concern. IF you are reading this and you are one of the parents that must be at work every day and you don't care about your child and other children, you might want to consider a nanny or au pair. Weather - Quite a few parents have to work regardless of the weather. The Principal tries to safely get the school opened for us in the morning and communicates via e-mail and on the webpage. It is nice to be able to not miss a day of work. I love my kids, but Daddy&Momma has to put food on the table, pay for a roof over our head and take care of our patients and customers. Our daughter (almost 3 years old) has attended Chesterbrook since she was 3 months old. We have been incredibly impressed with all of the teachers and the administrators throughout her time at the school. They are caring and motivated, and we are continually amazed at how much our daughter learns at the school while enjoying herself. She looks forward to going to school every day, and it's often hard to get her to leave at night -- she loves being there that much. We routinely receive feedback from her teachers about her progress without even having to ask. It will be a sad day when she ages out of this school because they've been such an integral part of her development. read more

I did a lot of research before enrolling my son here and am very happy with the quality of the facility and attentiveness of the staff. We've been going to this daycare for about 9 months now and overall am pleased with my choice. The classrooms are well kept, playground has lots of grassy area and a newer playground, communication with teachers and staff is great. My son has special diatary needs and they worked with me to understand and accomodate his needs. My only complaint is that my son always seems to have a cold, but I guess that is to be expected (unfortunately) with so many kids in daycare. read more

I absolutely love CBA. We originally enrolled our 9 year old at the McNair location until she was too old to attend (2012). In 2018 we enrolled my 5 month old at the Herndon location which she still attends. We plan to enroll our youngest boy as well this December/ January. There is no perfect situation when you are leaving your baby with someone else but Chesterbrook sure does come close to perfect! The facilities are clean, the classrooms are bright and cheery, the teachers are open to keeping your baby on schedule in the Infant I room and the administration is so helpful and friendly! Ms. Adrienne is great to work with and is fantastic with the children. The teachers in the Infant I room are great, the only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because I think some of them could be a bit more hands on/nurturing with the kids but they do a great job managing a big classroom. Overall, I would highly recommend Chesterbrook to any friends or family. We have had a great experience so far! read more

We have been really happy with the structure here for our pre-schooler. She is happy with the play and projects that keep her engaged. Our toddler is also happy here. The curriculum helps, but I think it's the passion and excitement the teachers here have that conveys to students. Location and safety were priorities for us too and this hit those marks. read more

This is my last year with my 3rd child at CBA. There is a significant age gap between my 2nd and 3rd child and when it came time to look for childcare as I went back to work the third time, I immediately reached out to CBA. In my opinion, this school's current principal is driven, involved, motivated and personable and she leads this school to success and sets high demands of her staff. The teachers genuinely love their jobs and the kids, and this has been a major part of my own kids success. CBA prepares the kids for kindergarten and elementary school. The curriculum at CBA really keeps the children on a positive learning track. All of my children were reading books before entering kindergarten. The children have fun while they learn, and my children have made friends that they still keep today. Field trips, in-classroom shows/presentations and exercises makes the day fun and exciting. CBA keeps their kids safe with keypads, ID checks, a clean space, and parents involved with appropriate communication and daily reports. Prices are competitive, yet reasonable - we all know daycare is expensive, but certainly not nearly as expensive as several other local centers, plus the hours are extremely convenient for full time working parents and meals and snacks are provided. Every child is different, and all 3 of my very different children have had a positive, happy and successful experience with CBA and their staff. read more

Great hours for working parents. Average curriculum that needs to be supplemented with home or after school education, particularly in science and math. Overall, this school struggles with leadership. We had our child there for three years and in those three years, they had three principals. The first one was fantastic and moved to another Chesterbrook unfortunately. The second principal had real challenges with managing anything; botched billing, poor communications, and never knew what was going on in the school. The most current principal excels at communication to parents and has embraced online communication tools. We are happy overall with the school, but got an average rating due to the inconsistency from a program perspective. If the current principal were being evaluated, she would have 5 stars, but this is a review of the school. read more

We think this Chesterbrook is wonderful and our son loves it too! Our son has been at this location since Infant 1 and is in Pre-K2 now. He has learned a lot and gets excited for different activities. The current principal is the best we have experienced and she cares about the kids and runs the center very well. Our daughter is in the Infant 1 class and is well taken care of. We feel our children are safe and happy during the day and we have liked most of the teachers. We have been so pleased with Chesterbrook Academy. First time parents can particularly trust the infant room staff that is outstanding and has had little turnover. I have both of my children there now and have enjoyed a caring and responsive staff. Strong leadership and kind teachers give me peace of mind every day I drop off my little ones.
