Came here to try some mall Chinese food at China Garden, rated as one of the top spots in the area. Upon approaching the counter, we were greeted by a pleasant young lady who walked us through the items they had and offered us samples to try. We settled on the Bourbon chicken, orange chicken, and General Tao's chicken with lo mein. They had a Bourbon chicken daily special with veggies for under $8.50. We got the three entree special for under $12. The chicken dishes were each really good and fresh with each having their distinct flavor profile. All in all, really good "mall" Chinese food that I would come back to when in the area. read more

I stopped by this mall over the weekend it was sad to see a number of closed stores and an overall lack of variety in the stores that were open. The busiest part of the mall was the food court, which had a good number of food options. If I were looking for a mall to shop at, this wouldn't be one of my top choices. read more

I love this mall, I feel like we don't really have a lot of malls in RVA anymore. I am too far from shortpump but Chesterfield town center have most of the stores they have. The main places I go to is, carters, home goods/ TJ Maxx, JCPenneys, loft and Macys. The mall is always clean and lively no matter what time you go, which is great. I did notice that some of the doors weren't working which I think they should do something about. In case of an emergency that could be bad. Just saying. Overall good place to shop. read more

Can find anything I need here or in the immediate area at Target. We like to come simply to walk around. I will say there are way too many jewelry stores. They have a train in the mall I believe year round for kids which is nice. During the holidays vendors will sell items outside of the stores too. Parking here is way too wiser than up in short pump. read more

Stores, stores and more stores! This mall is in one of the busiest intersections in Chesterfield, at Courthouse & Midlothian and the largest enclosed mall in the Richmond area! Truth be told, I prefer a less hectic area to shop. But when I'm in the area, I can't resist popping in Ulta and Barnes & Noble! And in the spring, I'm happy to see the pink garden tent pop up, even though I have one closer to me, I have purchased several plants here! The parking is somewhat chaotic albeit plentiful, the driving lanes gets jammed on the weekends. However, if you don't mind meandering thru crowds, and enjoy the hustle and bustle of shopping, you may enjoy the energy of this huge mall. It's packed with trendy retail stores, major department stores and diverse choices in restaurants, in addition to the food court. The food court could use some attention. Some of the kiosks scattered throughout the mall are a bit sketchy, so proceed with caution. There's a kids area which can be a blessing to parents needing a respite. At some other malls, many retail stores have closed for various reasons, whether economic or coronavirus, but here you may find a sister store. With so many more people turning to online shopping, the future of this mall, and others in RVA, remain to be seen. They are serious about safety during the COVID and I applaud their efforts! read more

As I've gotten to know this mall and its design more I have to give it an upgrade from 3-stars, which is what it seems like upon a first few visits/by initial appearance, to 4-stars. Undoubtedly the mall has some troubles - as the presence of some nooks and crannies of it that now feature empty storefronts indicate - but the stores that remain are surprisingly varied, changing, and sometimes quite delightful and interesting/unique. The mall is arranged in quite a complex fractal pattern and so an initial go-through may not reveal all the stores within the main complex let alone the various surrounding stores that aren't physically connected but right next to the primary facility. I like the mix of "core" typical mall stores (Macy's, JCP, etc) with some "fresh" ones (Crunch Fitness, Barnes & Noble, etc). The food court also has a surprisingly strong variety of options and quality to it with your standard mall food but also some variations. There are only two other malls in the RVA-area truly - Short Pump and Southpark - this place is definitely more upbeat and exciting than Southpark and also is more of a typical mall than Short Pump (which is more high-end but, for example, does not have a food court). read more

It's nothing pretty, but if you're looking to burn some time in the Midlothian area, this is a good wintertime option. I had about an hour and a half to kill, so I parked (easily found a space) and walked into the mall near Loft. The mall is surprisingly spacious -- I wasn't expecting it to be so large -- with diverse stores. It's all indoors, which is nice when compared to Short Pump. Anchors are currently Macy's, JCPenney, and Sears. There's a central food court with choices such as Nestle, Knockout, Chic Fil A, an Italian eatery, and a Hawaiian barbecue. Red Robin, Five Guys, and Jimmy Johns are among the other restaurants available. Restrooms are clean. There's a kids' playing area as well. It's not the closest mall to me, but I'd stop in again if I'm nearby and need to shop or would like a quick meal from a chain. read more

When I use to live in WoodLake, I would take my oldest son Diamond to this mall every weekend. The last time I visited this mall, I was so excited about all the amazing upgrades over the years. A medium sized mall, but I gave it high ratings because it has three things every parent needs on rainy days: a bookstore, indoor play area, and a food court. I've come here a few times with my daughter, first she was really little and now as a little person. I think it has a nice selection of stores. The parking is not designed very well, especially areas where people have to cross over, so be careful walking through the parking lot, otherwise an excellent mall. read more

The layout is simple and the mall is clean and neat. I do occasionally like to come here to shop. It's the closest and very convenient for me. I like parking near the food court by Barnes and Noble because it's right in the middle of the mall and sometimes I like to grab a quick snack before my shopping run. I remember coming here for as long as I remembered and there's been a few interior renovation, There are a lot stores that are closing that you won't find here are: Express, Body Central, Aperopostle(soon), from what I can remember. Don't be discard because there's been new shops added to Chesterfield mall such as: H&M, rue21, Cotton On and more that I probably forgot to mention. Like any mall it does get packed on the weekend because not many people work or goes to school and like to hang around here. But during the weekdays, there's barely a crowd. It's a decent place to get shopping done. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Not only is this place about 10 mins from where I work, it's NOT Short Pump Mall! Definitely a lot less crowded with people and cars. Parking lot is pretty easy to navigate with plenty of parking near your favorite stores. I've been coming here for a long time now, but more recently b/c of my new job location. I love coming here after work to do some shopping!! I usually park near the food court b/c that's smack dab in the middle of mall and I like to start in the middle then go left or right, that way when i go to the left side of the mall, I get the chance again to look at the stores I already past and maybe find something else I need (not really..) to buy... lolz. It really depends on the types of stores you frequent the most and what you're looking for. I usually go to: PacSun, Zumiez (the next closest one is in Wiliamsburg!), Express, JcPennys, Macys, Old Navy, Aldo, BRMS, Rue 21, etc They have a few places that I haven't tried to and I might on my next visit like Bobalicious and Farmers market. There's a good amount of foot patrol by the mall cops so that lessens the amount of annoying teens which I really appreciate. Pretty clean mall as well but I've visited their public restrooms so that could be another story... haha The only downside that I can think of is that I almost always have to walk the entire mall to get to my favorite store... but I dont mind the walk or the people watching! read more

We live midway between Chesterfield Towne and Southpark, but most often gravitate towards here. Entering the facility you sense a lower tier mall, as the entry portals are rather beaten. Once inside, you do find a reasonably well maintained mall, in spite of the obvious impacts of a failing economy. A large military recruiting station, lunar golf and a number of window fronts with window dressings for merchants in the mall are the evidence. Unless you compare it with Short Pump, the store mix is generally in line with others of it's Ilk. It does have a decent sized Barnes & Noble, a wealth of glass on the roof, providing a wealth of natural light, and the children's play area are all pluses, as are other destination points surrounding the mall and provided the reasons for the three star rating. read more

My kids are getting older for wants but even they were impressed by the dreamworlds themed, had display Christmas house. As for the mall. It's a staple of midlo. Not as many or as high end a stores as short pump and stoneypoint but a great mall for your daily needs. Also one of the few with a large food court still around. This mall isn't as upscale as Stony Point, but it's convenient if you live in the Southside burbs off Midlothian. When my nieces and nephew were little, their mom would take them to play at the indoor play area. A lot of playing combined with a little shopping, but moms have to juggle all the time and that's a nice feature of this mall. The Dillard's went out of business here (went to the final clear out) and Spinnaker's is gone now too from what I understand. read more

This mall has recently gone through a renovation so it's clean, bright, and there are several stores to choose from. This is usually my go to mall because the stores are affordable and I can get everything I want or need in one stop. However, this mall is always crowded, I have never been there where it isn't crowded and filled with teenagers. I don't want to sound like an old lady, but when I go to the mall I usually have a list of things I need to get and I want to get in and get out. With this mall you always have kids running around, hanging out at the food court, or just in general getting in your way. With that being said it is still one of the better shopping malls that we have in Richmond. read more

Tired and frustrated I had almost given up until I visited the H&M at the Chesterfield Towne Mall. Hillary was great!!! She was the exact same size as my daughter and around the same age. Hillary went above and beyond!!! after getting permission from her manager, she selected a few outfits and even tried them on for me. Typical mall...nothing to rave about, in my opinion. My favorite mall in the area is Short Pump, but now living on the south side of the James, I will not be making special trips out there! I do like the Sephora inside of JCPenney's. I also frequent Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Limited, and New York & Company. The TJMaxx is not the best one I have visited...and I have yet to shop around at HomeGoods! Everyone must stop by Auntie Anne's for a pretzel and CinnaMonster for a good ole gooey cinnamon bun to complete the visit! read more

Once THE place to shop in Chesterfield, the Towne Center is starting to show its age a bit. Since two upscale, outdoor malls sprouted up in RVA (Stony Point & Short Pump), the "traditional" shopping malls (CTC, Regency Square) have started to take a back seat and the higher end (stores and shoppers) are going elsewhere in a flight to quality. CTC has made some recent improvements/additions to try and keep up (e.g. Home Goods), and some are actually unique to CTC (e.g. Garden Ridge) -- the only downside for them is that these stores are specific destination locations for many, not casual strolls (meaning, folks generally come and go specifically for these stores without stepping a single foot in the mall itself). Another downside for CTC relative to its outdoor competition is dining; both Stony Point (P.F. Changs, Brio Tuscan Grille, etc) and Short Pump (The Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano's, etc) have major restaurants to help bring folks in -- the best CTC has to offer is Red Robin and Carrabba's. Not terrible in their own right, but a step down in quality relative to the competition. All in all, there isn't anything wrong with CTC per se, I just prefer to go elsewhere. The traditional anchors (Macy's, JCPenney, etc) are here, as well as stuff for the tweens (Hollister) and families (Old Navy). A good, but not great, mall; solid 3 Stars. read more

This is a large indoor mall and has aged well with plenty of stores to shop at. It also has a large food court and lots of kiosk's thourgh out the mall. It has it's large anchor stores like Macy's, Sear's, J.C.Penny's and lot's of others also. Now there are a bunch of empty stores, low quality product kiosk stands basically in the way in the middle of the walking area and the crime both in the parking lot and observed through out the store and restroom areas is shady to say the least. Lots of transition. This mall is older than 40 yrs. Originally it was less than half the size it is today. There were numerous vacancies in the early 80's the expansion & refurbishing has made this into what it is today. 40 yrs is a long time for most malls. With the exception of a Tyson Corner, King of Prussia & White Marsh....the biggies....malls live about 30+ yrs. Chesterfield County's growth has much to do w/ it's long life, but they have transitioned the mall quite well. A good place to shop. On busy days parking close can be difficult to visit all the areas of the mall unless you want to do an Australian Walk-a-Bout. Still, a lot of choices of stores. read more

I love the food court, and the stores that are widely available. The mall needs security because the teens like to walk on the cross walk and stand there in the middle of traffic so the drivers can't drive. I got cussed out by a teenage girl while her and her friends were standing in the middle of the cross walk talking. Half of the employees are young teens as well that's really annoying. read more

This is honestly my preferred mall to go to. I shop at a lot of the stores and the staff in each store is so much nicer and amazing. The Chick-fil-a is top notch and so is every store. I've met the store managers at the Aeropostale and the Hot Topic and they just know what they're doing. The associates are well trained and are so genuine! Love this Mall! Nearby, fair prices, family atmosphere. We have been coming here for several years and I finally decided to post a review. The selection of stores is above average. You will find a Barns and Noble and a At Home as one of the anchors. I personally enjoy shopping at Old Navy and Loft. There are things for kids to do; a kiddie play area for toddlers and teens can enjoy wifi while the parents shop. If you get hungry there is a food court and a few restaurants in the mall but several more nearby. There are also several plazas nearby so this really is a great place to shop. If you are looking for high-end shops the I would suggest Short-Pump. The variety and prices are 5 star! read more

I've been going to this mall ever since I moved to Richmond back in 1997. Ever since then, the mall has made a lot of changes, such as the addition of Barnes & Noble (previously United Artists Theater), Garden Ridge (previously Belk and Dillards), and Homegoods/TJ Maxx (previously Dillards), Hollister, Express. This is your typical mall with the essential stores. JCPenney, Sears, Garden Ridge, Macy's, and Homegoods/TJ Maxx are the anchor stores for this mall. There's only one floor. You can get a lot of walking if you were to walk from Sears to Macy's, which are the two end points of the mall. I think the best place to park is near the food court, which makes you central to everything. My favorite places in the food court are China Max, Honolulu BBQ, and Auntie Anne's. Can't go wrong with any of those places! Sure this mall is by any means Short Pump Town Center, but I believe this mall is great and can still draw in a lot of people, especially during the holiday shopping season. read more

Brought my son here today to see the Easter bunny & was really excited to see that they have a Home Goods/TJ Max store! So I went to the store Charlotte Russe with my sister on a Monday, not busy at all and when she requested to have the larger dressing room the cashier assisting us refused to let her have it saying that if someone handicapped came in they might need it??? So what if my sister had a handicap that she did not want to discuss and was trying to be discreet about what is going on with her? It was just beyond being difficult!!!! When Ross [Dress for Less] is one of the anchor stores of your mall, that's a red flag. What am I walking into? However, Chesterfield wasn't too bad. The typical anchor store, Macy's, is an OK one. It's weird that TJ Maxx is also in the mall, but there's a Homegoods and well, that's EVERYTHING (I love!)...and still, nothing at all. (Do better.) read more
