This is by far the worst apartment I have ever been in. It should be half the price they ask. Oh, the aesthetics at first glance is nice when they take you on tour. Stone building, clean hallway, fresh painted walls, secure door to the place and bolts on the doors, wide open spaces, close to everything, and you hear nothing. You think, "Ah It's Emmaus; a quiet quaint borough that has a Code of Ordinance, filled with nice people who have consideration over others; and the place has rules of conduct; what could go wrong? ". Then you move in and the horrors unfolds. When you start to clean, theirs still mounds of cat hair which I'm allergic to. Took a few runs of a vacuum cleaner to get it all up. An up-close look at the rug; it's piles are so sparce you can see through to the backing. Under the stove was an inch thick pile of hair of all sorts matted with cooking grease tossed with toys, money, jewelry, and food such as cheez-its and dried vegetables. I got sick from cleaning it. Who ever painted the cabinets didn't think someone would look underneath them; wiped painted finger prints all over, it hillarious. The marble window sills get moldy if you don't take care of them. When the place does construction work, nobody cleans up the mess they make, so it gets dragged everywhere, rediculous. The main door keeps getting broken because people just don't care. Trash is littered everywhere despite the trash area is not far across the small lot. Nobody wipes their feet on the mat and it doesn't get cleaned daily so the hallway gets disgusting. So Emmaus isn't filled with as many nice people as you think. The walls, ceiling, and floors are so thin; you hear EVERYTHING. I'm talking about hearing upstairs tenants urinate, every word and noise coming from all three sides. When it's going all at once, it drives you crazy. It's bad enough the walls, ceiling, and floor are so thin, but it's even worse when the people who live there are not conciderate enough to adapt to the fact of how the place is and have consideration over their neighbors. Rules state not to disturb other tenants yet... People slam things shut instead of closing them decently. Talk too loudly in the hallway. People run up and down the stairs creating much louder noise than need be at all hours of the night instead of walking; the stairs creak enough so as it is. Instead of the upstairs tenants carrying themselves properly so they don't stomp, they bang their feet so loudly, it sounds like a giants heartbeat. Pets are allowed to a certain weight for an extra fee and I swear, the upstairs cat is too heavy because when it runs across the floor it sounds like a drum solo. Upstairs people had ran a floor fan; it created an acoustic vibration that traveled throughout the entire apartment unit that I lossed out on full nights sleep because it made me dizzy until talked to and now they don't run it, thank goodness. The downstairs neighbors used to talk non-stop for hours sometimes till past midnight until I stomped on the floor. Everyone should know that 9-10pm is the cut off time for making noise in Emmaus, and to start adding in consideration that others want to sleep.. It's a joke. If you want to move in here and you know you are loud and just can't be considerate of others, definitely do not move in ubove someone. read more
