My friend and I stopped here for lunch after visiting the Art Complex Museum. Service was fine, you can tell it's a popular establishment with locals. I got the steak and cheese egg rolls , it was good. For the meal, I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich, it was ok. The sauce wasn't my favorite, I thought the taste would lean towards a buffalo type but instead it was chipotle. Fries were great. For dessert, we got the Nutella waffles. Really good. read more

Wow! Just moved back to the area, ordered dinner for delivery tonight & was blown away. The food arrived in a timely manner, still warm. Sometimes ordering delivery for fried items (French fries, fried pickles) can result in some sogginess- not an issue here! The French fries were crisp & the fried pickles were in perfect condition. Take out order of a fish sandwich with French fries & a Bean burger. The fish sandwich was all burnt on the outside as well as the French fries being totally burnt & not fit to eat. The bean burger was like eating oatmeal in a bun, very mushy. Maybe it was just a bad night but an average rating of 4.5 seems overly optimistic. Came here for dinner around 5 on a Saturday with our two kids. It wasn't busy yet so it worked out well and we got a table right away. It is small in there so be mindful of that! Walking in, you know it's a local spot. Everyone seems to know one another and are catching up. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable; the type of spot you could spend an afternoon catching up at. It has a simple, coastal feel to the decorating. I stopped by on my way to Cape Cod and had a great lunch with family. Our servicer was prompt and helpful. We started with Mac and Cheese bites where were the perfect size to hold our hunger until the main meal came out. Regretfully, it was time to go home, and the weather people were calling for snow, so we left the cape and headed up Route 3. The clam chowder ("chowdah"), however, is THE BEST!!! I'm a chowdah snob, and I promise you won't find better. Not too thick, not too thin, lots and lots of fresh quahog meat, and just enough potato and cream to nice balance the flavor. Skip the cup and make a meal of the bowl! read more

My husband and I were spending time in the Boston area (Duxbury) and found this wonderful little restaurant. It has a very "favorite to the locals" feel,which I find to be a good sign when looking for a great place to eat. There is a wide variety of food to choose from, and with some helpful guidance from our waitress, we selected the Rueben and the short rib grilled cheese with their sweet potato waffle fries. OMG! Both were truly amazing. I would definitely come back. The hard part will be deciding if I want to try something new, as the sandwiches we ordered will be hard to beat! read more

We sat out on the front porch on an unusually cool August afternoon. It was fairly busy even early PM, but we were alone on the porch. We both had the fried fish sandwich with fries and coleslaw. The fries were well seasoned, and the haddock was nicely battered and crisp. The slaw was good, but like many places the slaw serving was small compared with the generous sized fish chonk and fries. Without having to pay top dollar for that place west of rt 3, trip over canes and wheelchairs down the street or partake of the asian food that was amazing when they were in Marshfield... I am a stickler when it comes to Mac sauce - if it's too watery I'm out. This was hands down THE BEST Mac and cheese I have had. The atmosphere was great. You walk in and you're immediately greeted. The back bar is so aesthetically pleasing as well, everything looks clean and lined up perfectly. I want to thank all the staff here for preparing a wonderful meal and experience. The reason of this review were the many negatives we experienced at the Chestnut Street Grille. Firstly the service, we waited over an hour before our food finally arrived, we had things to do that had to be halted due to the horrible service. However the main reason where the sanitation conditions. Our friends at another table asked the waitress for refills on water and we as well as them saw her take a glass from a pervious dirty table and refill it, handing them the dirty glasses. We also asked the waitress for refills on waters and when she went to refill them, we saw her reusing our glasses and giving them back to us while lying saying they were new. We discovered food on our plate that was not throughly cleaned. They also tried to charge us for a brownie for my birthday I NEVER ORDERED. Overall stay away from this place read more

We have eaten here for brunch three times and we just love it! The eggs Benedict is made with bacon and is sooo yummy! My husband loves the farmer's breakfast. The ABC omelet wasn't my fav but still good. I had the open faced corned beef melt but substituted the short rib hash for the red flannel hash and it was amazing. Do not go here unless you have an entire Saturday morning to WASTE. The wait is not for a seat. We sat right down and ordered right away. There's just no food coming out of the kitchen. There are very few people that I see with actual food in front if them. It looks great, but it is not worth it to just sit here hungry for OVER AN HOUR. I doubt we ever come back, at any time of day. The nut is awesome! It's the local watering hole where everyone from Duxbury can get together and have a few beers. Although it's known for its bar atmosphere, the food is pretty good as well. The chili had no flavor and the Steak n Cheese egg rolls were defiantly frozen and heated up. We were going to get lunch but decided not to after tasting the appetizers. Mostly annoyed because I used the 'Touch Tunes' app to request some songs and diversify the monotonous country that was playing.
