Service has me and a 3/4. Walking in friend and I just seemed like we were being watched. Stared down. But once she started speaking and her Trini accent came out strong I feel like there was an easing. I definitely know I could be wrong but the feeling was so strong. In preparation of attending an upcoming traditional Indian wedding, I have been on the search for a beautiful saree. I wanted something colorful and sparkly. The bride sent me to Chhabras Fashion to shop for options. This place has a large selection of traditional Indian clothing and accessories for any occasion for men, women, and children. I looked around and this nice young lady approched me to offer some guidance and assist me with the sizes, and helped me to measure my top since the dress sizes are based on your chest size. She took me to the rack that had my sizes and I pulled out two that I thought would look great. I was escorted to the changing room where I was allowed to try on the two sarees. I immediately fell in love with one of them, however the top felt a bit snug. The owner came over and offered his critique on how beautiful the saree looked on me, and advised me that he can alter the top on the spot. I told him I will take it! He then took his time to alter the top within 10min and allowed me to try it on once again. This time it fit perfectly. I was so ecstatic that my search was over and I found exactly what I wanted. The service was awesome. They were very attentive and offered great advice and guidance on different ways to wear the saree to create a different look. They also offered a large selection of Jewelry and helped you to pair the jewelry nicely with the saree. I am very impressed with the service and will definitely be sending the rest of my family there to get fitted and make their saree purchase. So happy I found this place! read more

This is the only place I go to buy Indian wear. It's way out of my area, but the selections, styles and prices are pretty good. I really love the outfits that have alot of sequins and bead-work. If you need alterations to your Indian clothes, this is NOT the place to have them done. I needed sleeves attached to my anarkali. When I went to pick up the dress today, the sleeves were not made to my measurements and the work very sloppy. Because I do not have time to come back before my trip, I [very politely] asked him to remove the sleeves. I also asked for a refund, to which he responded, "Are you kidding? I already paid the seamstress, and I'm not charging you to have the sleeves removed, so no you don't get a refund." I should be refunded because you did not provide the service that I paid for. I walked out of there with a dress with no sleeves, no refund, and no apology. I will absolutely never buy anything from them again. read more

Quality stores for Indian apparel are honestly hard to come by. Harder still are to find these stores with unique and one of a kind items. Chhabra's offers both of these! The store itself can be quite overwhelming when you first walk in as it is lined from wall to wall with sarees, lenghas, salwaars, and kurtas for every age and size. One of the huge perks that I found with this store is that they carry a wide variety of "ready made" sarees. The concept behind these clothing items is that the sarees themselves are pre-pleated and sewn in a way to where putting them on is as simple as donning a skirt and top! I found a beautiful gold and pink saree that was "ready made" as well as a purple and pink saree without this stitching that I could not pass up. Mr. Chhabra was incredibly helpful and has to work hard to balance the wide variety of people who come into to his shop and need assistance. Outside of the clothing, there is also a wide array of jewelry, bangles, purses, shoes, and options to match with your date. Another fantastic piece that this store offers is alteration services! Check this place out first for any of your Indian clothing needs. It will give you a heck of a comparison for any store that tries to come close! I came here on two different occasions with my fiancé and my future mother in-law to purchase my wedding sari. While there is a vast selection to choose from, we were treated very rudely by the sales person who "helped" us both times. He acted very coldly to us when we were looking on our first visit, and it felt as if we were inconveniencing him. Giving him a second chance, we came back again only to find the store closed when it should have been open, and he only came after we called the number on the door. He spoke rudely to both my future mother in-law and to me. We ended up going to Ruby's Fashions and spending our money there, where the selection was just as good, and the people were friendly and helpful. The experience was so drastically different from Chhabra's, and I'm glad we didn't give them our sale. It was not the experience I imagined when looking for my wedding sari with my future family.
