We enjoyed mimosas, coffee, grapes and chocolate bread - it's bring your own. There is a head (bathroom) onboard. We sailed past the ship dry docks and buildings - treat to see the freighters up close! Captain Tom zig zagged through the bay all the way out to the lighthouse. Susan provided a nice narration of what we were passing. It was warm when we went so I was a tad hot - could be cold on other sails. They also offer a sunset cruise. You have run of the ship if you'd like. This is a great relaxing way to spend the morning or evening. They take a max of six guests - it was just us so extra sweet! I believe kids are welcome but double check.

You have to walk across the grass to get to the little docking station where they have 6 boats. In the water "parking lot" there was a dead duck floating , the boat had pretzels strewn about and smashed, and the seats had clearly not been cleaned or wiped down. Between customers there is no sanitation or cleaning happening. There was also a loose screw at the front of the boat that I put back in twice to no avail. The anchor was too short of a line to actually hit the bottom of the bay anywhere we went. It was still a good place to grab a boat. Gas for 3.5 hours cost us about $15 on top of the reservation, which was really reasonable! Overall, a 4-hour rental for less than $250 is a good deal and we were happy to see Sturgeon Bay that way.

There are grills and picnic tables outside to enjoy the waterfront and a community fire pit for gathering in the the evenings. We also rented a boat for two days and were able to use the dock right outside. Laurel at the front desk is so welcoming the staff is quick to respond and make our stay both comfortable and memorable.

UNINHABITABLE: Forced to flee after 1 night due to chemical fumes; Hotel kept full 3-night charge…read moredespite rebooking the room. I was forced to check out after one night because the room was uninhabitable due to severe health hazards. Upon entry, the room reeked of strong, unknown chemical fumes. We attempted to ventilate, but were forced to close the windows immediately due to loud, disruptive guests and heavy marijuana smoke drifting in from across the street. The chemical smell did not dissipate; instead, the fumes triggered a severe asthma attack and heart palpitations within hours. The conditions were so dangerous that I had no choice but to check out the next morning and drive home to ensure my safety. Crucially, this was a holiday weekend. The hotel undoubtedly rebooked this room immediately after we left, suffering zero financial loss. Yet, they refused to refund the remaining two nights and kept the full $750 charge. The Snug Harbor Inn breached the basic warranty of habitability by providing a room with unknown chemical hazards that caused an immediate medical reaction. Keeping the full payment for a room I could not use, while they re-rented it to someone else, is unjust enrichment and a clear disregard for guest safety. Do not book here; the management prioritizes profit over health.

They have a great beach area that was groomed each morning. The have several bonfire pits on the edge of the beach on a ledge from the grounds. Each room that I saw had water views and the staff was very polite. The reason why it didn't get five stars is that the air conditioner unit was very noisy and I had to turn it off to sleep. The rooms could be updated, but it served the purpose as I was only there to sleep. Great place for a family to stay!
