As other Yelpers have reported, it is SO hard to cancel a subscription once they have your credit card! There is no way to cancel on-line or during the weekend. You have to call M-F during business hours, which I did, from work. 5 minutes I spent telling the lady "I need to cancel my subscription. No more. End this subscription. Do not charge my credit card." She kept stating the same script, "You are are valued subscriber..." and trying to convince me to keep subscribing. Offering deals. Something about a charity. I forget since I just kept saying, "I'm at work, I don't have time!! Please just tell me that you will cancel my subscription and won't charge my credit card!!" Finally she agreed and confirmed she would end my subscription. That said, I do appreciate the Tribune's in-depth coverage, local articles, photography, spirts, crossword puzzle, and Sunday coupons. So I would have given the Trib 4 stars if they weren't so aggressive with the subscription bit.

The paper's several pages are fulled with articles regarding some of the great neighborhood functions and events. There is always great articles of everything from peoples birthdays to little league pictures. They have a significant classified section that helps out when trying to find a new apartment or even a yard sale. In times that most papers are hurting and slowing down, the bridgeport news has kept their pages full of articles, business advertisements and classifieds. It's nice to see they are now even on the internet.

They are pretty cool because they talk about not only my friends local band, but major acts that come through town too. They are crazy diverse. One article will be an interview with someone from Ministry and the next a review on Laura Marling. And I have yet to see a story on any flavor of the month bands. When I want to find out about music events happening around town, I don't have to wade through a ton of crap articles about food or gossip. They get to the point. What I really like about In The Loop Magazine is how they are apparently still independent and real. They are not filtered or censored -yet anyway. Love reading the original stories they do, although I wish they'd do more. Love the events calendar and how I can sync with it. The website is really clean, lots of stuff to read about, easy to navigate, cool videos and interviews I've never seen anywhere else again, including my friend local band. Not often you find somewhere that talks about the locals and the nationals. I love anything Chicago especially the Chicago music scene. These guys and gals get it. Nice job everyone! It definitely seems to want to draw in the urban hipsters but seems to be a bit stale in doing a solid job of it. The hipsters probably read something else anyway since pretty much everyone knows that the Chicago Tribune also puts out this little magazine. I noticed Redeye also put out a movie newspaper which was also free. It covered new releases but overall that newspaper was pretty much just full of ads with just a small movie section. Not my first choice on magazines but it is free so what the hell, I pick it up anyway.
